"Not dishwasher-safe, contrary to list of features above."
While the pan is a really great one in that it is the right size for an omlette or fried egg, or even sauteeing a small quantity on the side for a larger dish you may be cooking simultaneously, the Simply Calphalon Aluminum 8-inch Omelet Pan is not dishwasher-safe. The instructions that come with it clearly state that it should be hand-washed. I had purchased this pan because Amazon stated (under "Features" above) that it is dishwasher-safe. Still, I'm going to keep it because it is small enough to be hand-washed with hardly any effort. This pan is quite thick so food will not get burned easily (as would be the case with thinner frying pans), it has a hardy teflon coating which not only means you can use less oil but that you can expect it to last quite a while, the anodized aluminum means that your omelet will cook evenly, and it is a comfortable pan to handle. I have quite a few Calphalon pots and pans, the oldest being about 10 years old and still going strong, and they've all been the best pans I've ever had. Given all that, and given the price of $24.95, I would recommend this pan.

"Great pan with a different non-stick coating"
Calphalon is my pan of choice. Everything else is junk after you cook with a Calphalon. But with this pan it's a little different than my other Calphalon cookware. The non-stick coating is a bit (only a bit) rougher feeling than my Calphalon Professional Nonstick II Limited Edition 10-Inch Omelet Pan. Now THAT pan's coating is AWESOME! If you're not careful the eggs will slide right over the side and become the dog's breakfast.

With this pan I found that the metal is MUCH thicker than my last 8" Circulon pan. This gives it an even cooking surface and holds the heat much longer. This is also heavier than the Circulon, but not uncomfortable to flip the veggies. I have also found that I don't turn the heat up as much as I used to. Must be the thicker metal...

If you are looking for a pan to cook a sausage (or three), some diced veggies or up to 4-5 scrambled eggs, this is the pan for you. (I recommend heating the pan up slowly. I put the pan on with a low flame and inch it up as I get the food ready. NOT a Calphalon recommendation, just mine.)

I'd give it 5 stars if it had the same non-stick surface as the Pro Nonstick II.

Also... be sure to check out Calphalon's crepe pan! If you love to make crepes or pancakes (or the like) THAT is the pan for you!

"Really nice little skillet!"
I have been really impressed by this skillet thus far (after about half a dozen uses). I feel like I could be a Food Network chef flipping the food in the skillet one-handed because of the great nonstick properties! I don't cook eggs often but the two times I did cook them in this skillet, I was REALLY impressed by how readily the egg slid from the pan. I'm not one of those people who keep one pan only for one thing so I've used it to cook a grilled cheese sandwich and a few other things and it has performed like a star on every task thus far!

I am a person who HATES to wash dishes, so the easy "cleanability" of this pan was a HUGE bonus. Even with cheese melted all over, it wiped right out! And I love that the handle is metal so it can go right in the oven. I haven't used it for that yet but, since it's the only skillet I own with a metal handle, I'm sure it will be hitting the oven at some point!
