"Nordic Ware steamer" We've only used this a couple of times but have been pleased with it. We haven't used it for fish yet but vegetables have been perfect. The instructions aren't real clear so we use the fresh vegetable button on the mircowave for a "timer." Definately worth purchasing. We liked the steamer bags but were using them so often it was getting quite costly. This product is the perfect alternative and better enviromentally as well! "A winner!" Excellent Product that steams veggies in very little time. It is easy to use and clean. I love it and it keeps all veggies healthy and tasty!! "Simple and it works" Solidly build, easy to wash. Saves electricity when steaming food with this in the microwave as compared to other means. a full ear of corn takes only 3-4 mins and its all done. Good buy and must have for homes. "Nordic Ware Vegy/Seafood Steamer" BUY THIS! Not found in my local stores. Cooks a batch of spuds in 8 min., no spills or oven clean up. Have high hopes that it will be the "secret weapon" for asparagus and sweetcorn when my crop comes in. My micro wave is a Panosonic, 1100 watt, turntable unit. Probably a 'lil cheaper at a W.mart if you can find it. "Great Product!" This is a great product! Works very well. I have steamed veggies until my heart's content :) Very easy way to get more veggies in your diet if you lead a fast paced lifestyle like I do.

What our customer's say! "Fantastic For Fish", I initially purchased the steamer for the use of steaming trout. WOW!!! It was wonderful. I was really disappointed that the steamer didn't come with suggestive cooking times. One trout fillet took about 5 - 6 minutes on high in a newer microwave. Haven't used it for veggies yet, but if its steams trout this well, then veggies shouldn't be a problem. Price was reasonable compared to the steamer bags. "good buy, check ur microwave size", This product works great steaming veggies, I had to optimize timings. Broccolli takes around 5 mins, while potatoes take 12.00. please check ur microwave dimensions before buying it. Fits into larger microwave. No trouble so far after 6 mths "buy something else", The lid had a huge crack after the first use. It might still work okay but I haven't had the heart to test it yet. I used the first time on asparagus and it turned out good but not spectacular. "Poor quality product.", Most reviewers of this item are talking about the benefits of steaming which i agree is great but this steamer is not good. After the tupperware steamer I had for years got damaged in the dishwasher I bought this hoping it will last atleast half as long. Only after a few weeks of using it the steamer looks dull and dingy. The transparent lid is turning yellow. The plate provided to keep the vegetables inside the steamer looks slightly twisted and dull. All this after good care during washing and also I used it only a few times for light steaming less than 5 minutes. I am ready to throw it and buy a tupperware steamer again. By the way the tupperware steamer lasted for nearly 4 years for me and would have lasted more if it did not fall off the top of the dishwasher rack and got burnt by a coil in the bottom of the dishwasher.Do not buy this item the quality is very bad. "Not what I thought it was !", I bought this product think I could use it o the stove top, butjit turned out to be microwavable only, but was never marked as so. It is now sitting in my cabinet collecting dust and I bought a more expensive stainless steel steamer from Target. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "great steamer", this is the best steamer i have ever used. Very easy clean up. Holds up to 3lbs. of asaragus. works great, can't live without it. this is my second one "Better for your body", I've heard that steaming vegetables is much better for you than cooking them otherwise. This does a great job at it. It makes vegetables taste great, and works well. Easy to clean. |
