"Fagor Home Canning kit" The kit is great. I have used most of the items and they work wonderfully. "Glad I got it" This isn't the greatest thing out there from what I can tell. I don't care because I had nothing! This is much better than nothing! The canning basket is a bit small & the handles are short. The recipe book is only for pressure canning & the instructions aren't so hot. I love the stainless canning funnel since most are plastic - yuck! I use everything in this kit except for the book! The lid lifter magnet is weak but if you are slow & patient, it does the job! I will keep my eyeballs open for a better basket at a yard sale or something like that, but in the meantime, I have what I need to can without problems. "Perfect Kit for the Perfect Canner" Just purchased the Presto 01755 Pressure Canner 16 quart. Needed the items in this kit to get started and everything works great. Highly recommend. "Fagor Home Canning Kit" It was packed well and arrived quickly, but I thought the canning rack was going to be for a large 23 qt. water bath canner and it is for a small pressure cooker..maybe 6 qt size? I think it would be helpful to let people know the size of the canning rack in the description. I did need a jar lifter, not sure how much I will use the other stuff. "Not for large batches" Although the accessories in the this kit are very useful, the water bath basket is very small and not suitable for large canning projects.

What our customer's say! "Canning Rack Rusted", The Fagor "made in China" canning rack rusted the second time I used it and left a rust stain in the bottom of my Fagor Canner. While, I did get the stain out, it looks like the rack is of very poor quality and I do not recommend it. "Good quality!", I was impressed by the quality of this kit! The pieces are sturdy and easy to use. "Great little starter kit", Just getting started so bought this same time we bought pressure cooker. Didn't need anything fancy. Not sure how much or how long we will do canning. This fit the bill perfectly. "new to canning", i am new to the canning process and needed the tools to get started. they make doing the canning much easier "review of Fagor canning kit", A good selection of canning supplies are included in this kit. Included is a manual for canning specific fruits and vegetables however the directions are specific to a pressure canner that measures the pressure settings as low, medium, or high instead of the specific amount of pressure required. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "some pieces useful, some not", I got this along with a pressure cooker/canner as a gift. Some of the "tools" included are helpful while some have never been unwrapped. Specifically: USEFUL magnetic wand jar "lifter" jar "rack" funnel (fits jars better than ones I had) NOT SO USEFUL the plastic bubble releaser the jar tightener ladle (I already have a couple of these) Is it worth getting the set? For most people...probably, yes. "Excellent aide in your canning kitchen", This kit has everything a home canner could want. The invention of the magnetized stick to lift the lids from boiling water is positively genius. The picture might imply that the pot comes with the kit. It does not, but the equipment fits anything you are already using. You'll be very glad you made this modest investment.Fagor Home Canning Kit "It's just OK", The magnetic lid lifter is so weak it barely works. There are other things that are just unnecessary. Keep looking. I advise against. "Accessories for canning", I had purchased a pressure cooker (Fagor 10 qt) without realizing that these accessories were really necessary. The kit includes everything that is needed to use the pressure cooker properly. All of the items are of good quality (metal funnel, rack, jar lifter etc). The only mistake I made was not taking advantage of the combination order (pressure cooker plus accessories). "Necessary", These use to be every where and inexpensive to replace. Not any more! However this set is better than the one I used for over 40 years, maybe it will last for the next generation! |
