"Bissell 7950 Proheat Self-Propelled Upright Deep Cleaner"
This stuff is amazing!! But the water tank capacity need to increase or a water hose plug in option..Cheers

"Excellent carpet cleaner"
This carpet cleaner works very well. I have pets and the carpet needs cleaning periodically. I found that this machine does the job and the self-propelled feature makes the job easier. The sucking power is excellent. The carpet dries fairly quickly. This machine comes with everything you need.

"It does work,"
It cleaned my carpet well,

it hasn't even break yet.
i say it does work

"Save your receipt "
We had our Bissell for about 3 years, which I'm finding is a pretty long time in the lives of steam cleaners. Because we have wood floors on the lower level, and use Stanley Steemers from time to time, we probably used the Bissell about 20 to 25 times, and then usually just to do one room.

In the beginning we were happy with it - it cleaned well, and it has rinse ability, which is important, since I don't want to leave soapy water in the carpets.

It didn't take long before the spraying mechanism began getting clogged, and so we were constantly cleaning it, even as we cleaned the carpet. In all fairness to the machine, we do have dogs. However, I DO vacuum (using an Electrolux canister) before using the steam vac.

The last time I used it, there was hardly any water spraying out of it. My attempts to unclog the mechanism were to no avail.

We now have it in the garage, awaiting either repair, or the curb -- we haven't decided yet. Our indecision is fueled by all of the bad reviews I'm reading about Bissell's lack of durability; Hoover's leaking and breaking tanks; and Eureka's back breaking, non-cleaning Atlantis. Since I'm unable to find a machine that promises to both clean, and last longer than one year, I don't want to invest in another steam vac. So if I can find a repair center nearby, I may try and have this one repaired.

I guess my advice is, if you buy this machine, save the receipt. If you can get the extended warranty on it (something I normally do not purchase) it might be worth it on this machine.

"Exceptional Carpet Cleaner!"
We received our Bissell 9750 Proheat self-propelled upright deep cleaner about 3 weeks ago. We LOVE it! We used the deep clean setting the first time and it makes the carpet soft to walk on. We were amazed at the amount of dirt that came out of our carpet and you could even see the carpet moving as the water was sucked back out. The carpet dried quickly within hours, so we know that most of the water was being removed. We have 2 dogs and a cat and knew that our carpet needed deep cleaning on a regular basis....this is the machine for doing just that! Consider buying your own because it is so nice to let it do the work forward and backward by itself. No fighting with the machine.

What our customer's say!

"Great when it worked, not so great with smoke and fire :(", I've owned the machine for 3 years and it has received periodic home use. I've been very pleased with its suction & cleaning ability. Cleaning the machine after use is challenging given the weight of the machine & the narrow openings. I used it yesterday for some large area rugs and it was great, cleaned the machine, and went to use it today on some additional area rugs. 5 minutes into the new job smoke poured out of the machine followed by flames. One rug is wet and soapy, but I guess we're done! Guess I'll try a Hoover next time :(

"A piece of junk that barely outlasted the warranty", We had to mess with this thing every time we used it because sometimes it wouldn't suck the water up, and sometimes it wouldn't squirt the water out. Then the roller broke, then the pump stopped working. Now it's junk at just over two years old. What a waste of money. And this happened to the 1st cheaper Bissell I bought too. Yep, I was dumb enough to buy another thinking I'd get better results with a more expensive model.

This product doesn't even deserve one star, but that's the lowest choice available.

"Bissell 7950 Proheat self-Propelled upright deep cleaner", It worked wonderful. It kept the water hot and it cleaned the carpet really nice. Try it I think you will like it.

"Nice product", The product works well to clean our carpets. I haven't had any problems with it so far.

"Bissel Pro-Heat", Cleans carpets extremelywell but has a steep learning curve. The water tank and the soap tank are small and frequently go empty with no obvious warning. It is extremely heavy and not very maneuverable. It therefore requires constant attention and pre-planning as you clean. The hard floor cleaning is not very good and I do not recommend it for your hard floors. It is too bad that all of the manufacturers have stopped making cannister cleaners: I had an old Bissel Green Machine for 10 years: did not clean quite as well but was much easier to maneuver.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Spray trigger problem", We got a smoking deal from Amazon for our new Bissell ProHeat 7950 so having a problem with it during the second day of use didn't feel so bad. The thing quit injecting the water/cleaner mix into the carpet when the trigger was squeezed. I reread the user's guide and made sure all tanks were in place, etc. No luck. I called Bissell at 1-800-237-7691 and talked to Bernadette, a friendly, helpful, knowledgable foreign sounding lady. She diagnosed it over the phone with my help. The trigger in the handle was faulty, it was sticking on/off and not allowing the spray to work when called for. She did not hesitate to order a complete handle/trigger assembly for us to arrive free of charge within 7-10 days. She would not need the old/bad one back. So, I being a gadget type guy, decided to take apart the bad handle and tinker with it. I got it working just fine. For those of you with the same malfunction, here's what I did; first, unplug the machine. Next, remove the handle assembly the same way it went on when you assembled the new machine. Unscrew the five screws from the handle and pry it apart. You'll see a long white plastic "stick". Try using a small file and slightly widen the slots that the stick travels in. Then push down on the red wire that runs across the stick travel area from the black power switch to the red smarttemp switch. That wire seems to have been installed too close to the moving stick and restricts it's movement. Lastly, take the spring off the stick and widen it providing more tension on the trigger. Put it all back together and clean away! Aside from that, the Proheat machine works great. It cleans like crazy. Yes, the tank could be larger capacity, I'm sure we're going to bust a belt here and there due to the design, etc. However, it seems to be just fine for us. I am pleased with the help from the Bissell Consumer Services Dept. Plus, for the price we paid, I can live with all this. I'm sure there's better machines out there, but certainly worse ones as well. Dennis Mesa,Az

"Miss my Hoover", Broke after 1 cleaning plus 1 spot repair. I won't pay to have it repaired if not covered under warranty. Will buy a Hoover again. Bissell can kiss my, er, carpet!

"Bissel Proheat", I have wall-to-wall carpets and the Proheat does the job efficiently. My only issue is the tank is too small. I have a lot of space to cover so having to go back and forth to empty the tank of dirty water and refilling it with clean is a drag because it fills up in a very short time. Seems like most home deep cleaning machines have the same size tank though. Other than that I am happy with my purchase and would recommend it.

"Watch out for the brush drive", It cleans well when it works... I clean once a week on about 400 square feet of regular carpet for 19 months. I've had 4 of the $10 belts that drive the pump break. The pump and the brush are all part of the same unit. The plastic used for the brush drive wheel is very cheap and has failed on me 3 times. It only cost $40 for that part. Since you have to replace it all. None of this counts labor, which I do myself. The store that I get the parts from have know which parts fail by heart. Also for them it is a great money maker with people bringing in broken machines at least 3 times a week. It cleans carpets well, along with cleaning out your wallet. I would strong suggest you look else where for your next vaccum.

"wouldn't buy again", We have had this machine for about a year and it might have work right the first time we used it. We now have to borrow a friends Hoover Steamvac when we need to clean the carpet. We are getting ready to buy a different machine bcause this one would never work right. It never has any suction power and it constantly sprays soap everywhere even if you have it only on the water selection. I wouldn't buy.
