Others say...
"Dirt Devil Scorpion 0882 Cordless" My old dust buster died after 12 years of faithful service. I looked for an inexpensive replacement for many months and almost gave up until my Walmart had a shipment of these Dirt Devils last week. It states that there are 7.2 volts and 50% more power and it was only $14.99! A bargain in my estimation! After charging for 24 hours, I put the little vacuum to work and wow, did it do a wonderful job of cleaning up my window sills. As the box says: 1. Powerful------Powerful Suction with 7.2 Volts 2. Convenient---Quick Flip Crevice Tool to Clean Small Spaces Fast 3. Lightweight---Compact Power to Clean Everyday Messes This little Scorpion is definitely worth the buck. "Weak, not worth it" Poor suction power, doesn't hold much of a charge, difficult to get it to sit just right in the base, so that the contact will charge. It does work, but definitely not worth the money. "Weak suction power!" This model is only useful for vacuuming dust and very small crumbs. The vent placement is poorly designed because it blows stuff all over the place. Battery life is not all that great either. If you are going to use this type of vacuum cleaner daily a seriously suggest to invest more money into it. "Flimsy with no suction" This hand-vac only worked for a few months before the motor started crashing up against its casing resulting in a stench of burning plastic and a horrible screeching noise. Before that happened, the hand-vac was much more adept at blowing dust around rather than sucking it up. I've never written a negative review about anything before, but felt I should post a caveat emptor for this wreck. "Buy the more expensive one..." The Scorpion was a waste of my money. I decided to go cheap and I got exactly that. Mine didn't even last four months. It could be handy when it worked, but after the first month it made a horrible grinding sound, especially when you tilted it. Then it would start to smell, like an electrical fire. Eventually, it just stopped working. For a few more dollars, you can get one that actually works all the time.

What our customer's say! "Inconvienient", This product was really nice until I needed a replacement filter. I've tried the store I bought it from as well as every other appliance store in my area with absolutely no luck finding the filters. If you buy this, it worked well for me, but be sure to stock up on the filters, Amazon has been the only place I've been able to find them. "For the price, you can't beat it", It's loud and effective. While it gets some pet hair, it doesn't quite get it all (but my dog has a long coat). The quick flip feature is great. "Not worth any penny spent on it", I got a studio apartment as my first home. Wanting to be a clean bachelor rather than the messy stereotype, I decided to invest in a vacuum. Being the foolish youth I was I tried to invest in a handheld vacuum. Big mistake. This thing was a piece of rubbish. It doesn't have to be plugged in and can be recharged, but even when fully recharged it only lasts a minute or so and then becomes worthless. The suction power is not that great, and to top it off it's exterior is cheap as heck. No, I don't expect my vacuum cleaners to be made of titanium, but I do expect them to survive a drop from about waist-high. I threw this away and bought a more expensive traditional vacuum. My apartment has been a clean heaven ever since. I would suggest people do the same. "Don't waste your money !", I am returning mine today. I agree with rating above...I bought it on the cheap, and cheap is what I got. It's very loud, to the point I have to wear ear plugs. The suction is awful and it blows more that it sucks. The crevice tool broke off - which is why I'm returning it today. Very poor design. Trying to fit it into the base each time is annoying. My fault - I knew I was taking a chance paying so little. "Worst Product I Have Ever Bought", I must say, without reservation, that this is absolutely among the WORST products I have ever purchased. I went for the cheap cordless handvac, and cheap is what I got. Absolutely no suction power and the battery is gone in less than 5 minutes. A total piece of trash. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Great little hand vac", I bought this to replace our ailing bissell handvac that couldn't even pick up cat litter. I found the dirt devil scorpion to meet all my expectations. It's wonderful for little jobs, great at sucking up imbedded dust in the sofa, cat litter, small piles of dirt, etc. It's OK at getting cat hair. The strange thing is that my cat actually doesn't mind me "brushing" him with the hand vac, an added bonus! The flip down crevice tool is great. I think I bought mine for $25 at Fred Meyer, so the price here is better. I highly recommend it! "Hate it!", I had a Black and Decker which failed after about 6 months so I decided to try the Scorpion. The suction is pretty good, I guess, but the opening is so small that it gets clogged up immediately - a couple of cheerios get in there and you are sunk! Also, there is this little flap designed to keep stuff from falling back out - it doesn't work half the time. The dirt you just vacummed falls right out! The crevice tool seemed handy at first, but I have trouble snapping it into place and then unsnapping it. This vac is such a hassle, I'd rather use a dustpan and brush. I'm returning it to the store. "Not really very good....", We used it lightly. Just general clean-up. That's what it was made for. Had it 4 months and it gave up the ghost. Made a horrible death rattle before it's final demise. Now it's just junk fit for the landfill. Manufacturer claims a 3 year warranty, but just try to collect. You'll be wasting your time. Dealing with "Customer Service" is an exercise in futility. ![]() |
