Others say...
"Simply wonderful!" I give this coffee maker 4 1/2 stars. After all, nothing is perfect. The auto-shutoff and programmability make it perfect for the home or small office. Kelly, our resident brew master in the office, absolutely loves the brewing chamber. The separate water bucket and coffee basket make brewing and cleanup easy tasks. Say goodbye to the days of glass carafes. No more dangerous accidents in our office. Kelly adds, "It's simply wonderful!" "I will buy this type again when my current one dies." I have owned one of these for 2-3 years and have never had a problem with it. I can get a hot cup of coffee quickly. The timer lets me wake up to a fresh pot. The BrewStation is easy to use and easy to clean. I like that there is no carafe to get broken. The only thing that needs improvement is the plastic coffee level window, which gets stained. "The 12-Cup BrewStation is a great workhorse" I purchased this item because, in my new office, I can have a coffee maker (after years of working where one could not have one's own), and I got a great deal on it around Christmas of 2007. The lack of a glass pot is heavenly. The only reason I give this unit 4 stars, instead of 5, is that one needs to press the Cleanup and coffee making are both a breeze. One needs to take care, when opening the lid after making a pot, to open it slowly, allowing the accumulated water, on the lid, to trickle down into the urn, otherwise it will flow down the back of the unit, to your counter. However, if one does that, it does not get anything wet. The dispenser area shuts off, after removing one's cup, and the little reservoir is sufficient to catch the dribbles. My wife broke the glass pot last night, on our $15 cheapie maker (and thus why I'm back out here, at Amazon, this morning) and so I'm going to buy one of these for home use. "Best coffee maker I've owned" I've had a Brewstation for years, and I love it. It keeps the coffee hot, and it always tastes so good. The only problem I have ever had, and this seems to be a common problem, is the plastic handle inside cracked and broke. It's only a minor problem, that doesn't affect the pot itself. "Love Mine" I love mine. Haven't had a problem yet and had it for two years. I think the only time I'll need to replace it is when I run it into the ground!!

What our customer's say! "Reliable but BIG", This thing is not for the avg. kitchen, it's a behemoth. It's been reliable for 3 years, however. "Slightly disappointed", I received this Brewstation for my wedding 3 yrs ago. I loved it at first then slowly over time the temperature of the coffee got cooler and the taste of the coffee actually changed. After 3 yrs., it just stopped working all together (thankfully). I love the idea of no pot and one handed pouring especially with a baby but they just need to improve the quality of the model. "GO WITH MR. COFFEE", After 3 years, my Brewstation bit the dust today. I had tolerated it that long only because I could not justify purchasing a new coffee pot if I already had one that worked. Originally, I took my Mr. Coffee to work and purchased the Brewstation for home. I brew one pot a day at home and another pot per day at work. My complaints with the Brewstation include: 1) It does not keep coffee even close to warm for 2 hours; 2) You can not turn the warmer back on after it shuts off to keep the coffee warm for longer than two hours; 3) As long as you use a regular size coffee mug you are fine, but if you use a large travel mug or want to use a thermos, then you have to use a smaller mug to fill at the Brewstation and then pour into the larger mug or thermos; 4) My Mr. Coffee is almost 15 years old and still going strong at work, but this Brewstation only lasted 3 years. Accordingly, I am going to purchase a new Mr. Coffee tonight to use at home. "Love this coffee maker", I used this recently at a condo we stayed for spring break and when I got home I immediately checked to see if I could buy one for myself.. I thought it was fantastic. I am the only coffee drinker in the house. It was so convenient to use and it seemed to stay fresh. I am planning to buy this item. "Great coffee maker", I first saw this coffee maker when I rented a condo on the Gulf coast and since that date I have waited for the time I can have my own, sad I know but I just think this is a great product. It is easy to fill, easy to use and makes great coffee. I love the fact it just fills straight into the cup, instead of using a jug. There are alot of features on this machine, including being able to brew the coffee in the morning on a timer and all for under $40 (when I bought it on amazon) - really can't go wrong with that. A great product at a great price. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Good Coffee Maker but not without its annoyances", I'll first say that this is the 2nd Brew Station coffee maker I've purchased. The first one didn't really break but was just getting old...and a friend got me a huge discount. The other reviewers are right, it does make a fast pot off coffee. It's also easy to set up for for auto brewing coffee. Nothings better than waking up to a ready to drink pot of coffee. However, there are 2 major annoyances. First being the poorly engineered rubber gasket/stopper (the piece that opens and closes to let coffee pour into the cup from the reservior). After cleaning the pot out you have to make sure the stopper is firmly in place still and make sure no water is dripping from it before starting to make coffee. 2-3 times I have gone into the kitchen for a cup only to find that its now covering the counter and has made a puddle on the floor. Lastly, the place you put your cup and press against the button to get your coffee is only 5.5" high. So all travel mugs need to be angled in and you have to reach around behind the coffee cup to press the button. It's still a good coffee maker...but just save you box so you can exchange it for a new one. "Best coffeemaker ever manufactured!", This is by far the best coffeemaker ever manufactured! I've owned all kinds of coffeemakers from cheap to expensive. The key to a good long-lasting coffeemaker is to keep it cleaned. In the case of the Hamilton Beach, if you guys out there would read the directions, it would say to replace the rubber seal based on usage!! "Worth the Price", My pot worked well, but as others have said after a while it leaks. I found if you run coffee cleaner through it as recommended it will not leak, I believe the problem is from hard water buildup on the rubber seal. "The Ford Pinto of coffee makers...", When you first get the BrewStation it works great. It's really convenient. I bought one for my Mom last Christmas (2005) and she loved it. One day I walked into the kitchen and noticed coffee all over the counter around the BrewStation. I whiped it up and didn't give it another thought. But the next day I went back and there was coffee all over the counter again. It was then I noticed that the spout had developed a leak. My Mom said she hadn't a clue what was wrong with it, so we cleaned it and sit it on the dining room table for about 2 months unused. Yesterday, I went back to it and figured it was probably the gasket around the spout. I found the replacement gasket that came with it and replaced it. I then cleaned it off and placed it back on the counter and filled it with water. I ran it with just plain water to see if it would leak and at first it didn't. Then after it got up to about 6 cups it began dripping again. Bummer...So I left it sitting there and put a paper towl under it and when I went back about 20 minutes later the paper towel was soaked. The bottom line is the BrewStation my be convenient and have great features, but you would be better buying a $10 traditional coffee maker at your local Dollar Store.. "Worth every penny", I have had my BrewStation coffee maker for quite some time, and actually this is my second one. The first lasted almost a year before the power button quick working. We contacted Hamilton Beach, they sent us a free postage-paid return label along with a new machine. We did not even have to wait until they rec'd the old one before they would send the new one. Nice! We have not had any problems with the new machine and we have had it for almost two years. No leaks, no fumbling with a glass pot, (which can cost more than the coffee makers they came with to replace when they break), no dribbling coffee down the side of your cup to the floor/counter. For leak problems described in other reviews, make sure the rubber seal at the bottom of the carafe is intact and securely in place. It can become dislodged when cleaning. I noticed what I thought was mold growing on the hinge of the lid, but it is just hard water deposits. You can lift the lid and press it back just enough to pop the plastic bar (hinge) out. Wipe the bar down on both sides with a dish cloth then easily pop it back into place. Do this during routine cleaning to eliminate the deposits from accummulating. ![]() |
