"Hamilton Beach hit a grand slam!" Every once in a while, a company gets everything right about a product. This iced tea maker by Hamilton Beach is just such a winner. It's easy to use, easy to clean up, and most important of all accomplishes its main task of making iced tea very very well. Plus, it's priced well and has stylish looks. I'm glad they picked a neutral tone instead of making the pitcher red, blue or some other bright color. I used to make my own iced tea by the pitcher by simply brewing tea bags in a large container. I always thought an iced tea maker wasn't needed. But with this tea maker the whole process is tremendously more convenient, easier and faster. Maybe that's why my iced tea even seems to taste better now though I essentially use the same recipe as before. Also, you can easily make batches mixing loose and bagged tea. Doing that without a tea maker like this would be a big hassle, especially during cleanup. So this tea maker makes it a breeze to experiment and be creative. Nice job, Hamilton Beach! "Good Iced Tea in just a few minutes" I'm very happy with this Hamilton Beach iced tea maker. I purchased it after reading reviews on it and a few others. The reviews on this item were good, and I agree. Very competent unit. "MISLEADING ADVERTISING" THIS IS NOT A 2 QUART MAKER. YOU MAKE ONE QUART OF TEA AND ADD ONE QUART OF ICE...HOW IS THAT A 2 QT TEA MAKER?? BAH! DON'T BOTHER. "iced tea making" I've made about 6 batches of tea so far - it takes awhile to get the brew right - I've discovered if you put half a cup of sugar on the ice and use three teabags (one lipton or tetley iced tea bag and two orange constant comment bags) at medium strength you get a pretty decent cup of iced tea. Definitely don't put the sugar into the boiling area... and the sugar doesn't dissolve or filter through if you put it in with the tea bags. I tried leaving the tea bags in the maker to use again, but even in the refrigerator they molded after a week. Still a great time saver - fairly easy to clean, and fits great in my fridge! "Loose tea lovers rejoice!" I've been using my tea maker like crazy this summer. Being able to use loose teas instead of bags (or in addition to them) means I can make any kind of tea I want. Rooibos, honeybush, herbal tea blends? I've made them. In no time, I can have the tea set up to brew while I'm doing other things. Thanks to the design of the tea/tea bag holder, clean-up is a breeze -- even for loose peppermint. About the only thing I'd change would be having a bigger pitcher, or maybe having two included with the machine. Peppermint tea goes pretty quickly in this weather!

What our customer's say! "Easy to use and great tasting tea!", I am a tea brewing rookie and this machine is so easy to use. If you can operate a coffee machine you can operate this one no problem. I use two of the big lipton bags and one regular sized flavored bag and the tea comes out great. I only wish the pitcher was larger because at the rate that I drink it I have to make it every day. But its easy enough that it's not a big deal. Easy to clean and the base is small enough to store on the counter. "Good Tea, Poorly made product", I have made no more than 6 pitchers of tea. Was impressed at first. Tea flavor is excellent. But when I went to make some today, I noticed the pitcher is cracked in 2 places at the bottom of the handle :( Didn't put in dishwasher (only handwash) and no roughhousing by kids. I live alone. So much for my great Tea maker! I tried to contact seller through amazon but was unable to find a way through amazon. "Easy to use tea maker", This is an easy to use tea maker. It will work with tea bags and loose tea. This tea maker is very easy to clean for quick turn around time. I wish it came with two pitchers, but as quick as it makes the tea its not really a huge issue. The included pitcher is high quality and durable. "Great Appliance", Simple appliance makes great iced tea. I bought one for my office and a few months later I bought one for my house. Easy to set up, easy to operate, easy to clean. What else could you ask for? "wonderful with only a few drawbacks", We bought this a few months ago and use it almost daily. We love it. It is so easy to use. I only gave four stars because there are a few things that I feel could make it perfect. Although we leave it out because we use it so much, it would be hard to store if we aren't using it. They say that the pitcher goes over the tower for easy storage. This is true BUT you still have the lid, filter & inside compartment to find a place to keep so it is no longer all together. So when not in use we leave it set up. Also, the end of the pitcher is open so you need to be careful when moving it (from counter to fridge etc.) so you don't spill. We solved this problem by pouring tea into a different container in the fridge that holds over a gallon so we can make more tea and (almost) never run out! Other than never being able to get all the tea off the parts (tea really stains!) we have been really happy with the easy use of this machine. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Go ahead and buy it!", This iced tea maker is easy to use, quick and easy to clean. We highly recommend it. "Quick and Easy Tea in minutes!", This tea maker is a no hassle one. It holds about a quart of water and brews through very quickly. I used to steep tea bags for 15-20 min. then have to fish them out but with this tea maker, I found that if I cut the bags and put the loose tea in the tray, it makes perfect strength tea on a medium setting. You can use tea bags but it prohibits a lot of tea flavor so you might want to set it at the strongest setting. Then I dump the tea grounds, rinse and it's ready to use again. I do wish the pitcher was dishwasher safe. When it stains up though, rub a little baking soda on the inside and it cleans up good as new. "Very Good Iced Tea Maker", I have to agree with those who have preferred this ice tea maker to the Mr. Coffee ice tea maker. The Mr.Coffee maker produces good tea, but the Hamilton Beach makes excellent tea with fewer tea bags or loose tea. It is also a better design that takes up less space in the refrigerator and storage space on the kitchen counter. The adjustable dial has a mesh strainer that allows you to use loose tea, which is more economical than bagged tea, and in my opinion, produces a more flavorful brew. In fact, if you open the tea bags and put the leaves in loose you will use fewer bags to make your ice tea. This takes a little experimentation, but I think you will be happy with this tea maker. As other reviewers have noted, it is very easy to clean. One advantage that the Mr. Coffee maker may have over the Hamilton Beach model is that you can make fewer than two quarts of ice tea if you wish. (Mr. Coffee allows 1-2-or 3 quarts) The Hamilton Beach maker requires a specific amount of water and, per the manufacturer's instructions, no less should be used. However, when I make ice tea, I make at least two quarts, so I don't see this as a draw back. I love this ice tea maker! It is a little more expensive than the Mr. Coffee model but worth the investment. "Tea Maker", We got this as a replacement for another iced tea maker we used to have. After using it and liking it so much, we decided to give one as a present for Mother's Day. The ease of using it and the oblong shape make it super easy to use and store. The shape of the pitcher fits nicely into our refrigerator and does not take up a lot of space like the round pitchers do. This was a major consideration in purchasing our first one and then giving this as a gift. You will not be disappointed if you get this one. "So much better than the MR. COFFEE tea maker we had before!!", We love iced tea and make it all year round. The Mr. Coffee machine for this we had before was a constant problem. When the pitcher finally cracked on us, we could not seem to find a replacement, even from their website, so we decided to buy an entirely new unit. I read the positive reviews about the Hamilton Beach machine on Amazon and decided to purchase one. So far, my husband and I are delighted with the quality and the ease of use of this machine. I highly recommend it! |
