"SUPER SUCKER"
In all sense of the word, this Eureka upright does the job well for an affordable vacuum. I live in a moderately sized home and a "dinky" little vacuum would not do much. There is wall-to-wall carpeting throughout the entire house that is very thick, so I was considering the Dyson Animal. Since [the expense] was a little steep for the pocket, I opted for this Eureka Whirlwind. We do a lot of heavy duty vacuuming so therefore I needed a reliable tool that could do the job well. It is the third one we have owned in my house and I was hoping that the vacuum wouldn't make me reconsider my decision.

Well here is the scoop:

PROS
Easy to assemble (2 screws and ready to roll)
Fairly quiet for an upright vacuum
Excellent suction
Large cup allows for more dust to be captured in bin (Swirls dust in center of cup under pleated filter)
Large surface area (15")
Leightweight (Easier to carry compared to older models)

Cons
The bin is a little cumbersome (I guess this is because I have to get used to it)I will get back if there are any changes!

Not bad at all...I am indeed impressed.

What our customer's say!

"Very Disappointed", I purchased this product last last september...
about a month afterwards it stopped working...
I hesitated because I felt I needed to return it but did not have the package it came in...instructions said do not return to place of purchase call this number....
This item has been in the repair shop more than I have been able to use it. They warranty repair people used it lost my on board tools and guess what they still have it now...I asked for a new one and no response from the warranty company or Eureka...I want my money back...this had been a very bad experience. I ended up purchasing another product a hover vacuum while I still wait for a phone call from the warranty repair shop telling me they have repaired my cleaner. I could not believe when I picked it up the first time after repair it was full of black dirt and all sorts of paper clips, staples and God only knows what else...they had been using it to clean their office...

"Pretty good until the inevitable breakdown", I bought this vacuum a little less than a year ago, and it did the job. It picks up very well, and I liked the bagless style (not sure why they bother with a HEPA filter though--dumping the dirt from the canister would be a nightmare to people with allergies.) I did have problems with the lower hose getting blocked, but though it was a pain to clear it, I was still happy overall with this cleaner.

HOWEVER, it's completely broken in less than a year of average use (vacuuming twice a week). The end of the beater bar broke because some of the plasic part that held it deformed from overheating. My vacuum repair shop said they could fix it with new parts, but that it would just happen again. They also said they see Eureka vacuums all the time because they're not built to last. I wouldn't recommend this cleaner, and won't buy Eureka again because I can't afford a new vacuum cleaner every year. Do yourself a favor and find something more durable.

"Eureka blew me away!", I bought this vacuum after lots of research into features and quality (I have a dog and need a good one) and I love it. It is very quiet and powerful and the attachments are great. When the power switch broke right after the warranty expired, I contacted Eureka to express my displeasure and suggest they reimburse my repair fee. Imagine my surprise when they FedExed me a new vacuum over night. In today's world of diminishing customer service, Eureka went above and beyond to prove they are interested in taking care of their customers!! This vacuum is a great product and they are willing to back it up.

"Great vacuum so far", Have been using this vacuum heavily since it arrived last week and I'm extremely pleased. It is lightweight, quieter than any vacuum I have ever used, and appears to do a great job of picking up stuff. The dust cup is easy to empty and I enjoy the fact that I don't have to buy bags. I selected this vacuum partly because it is billed as a true HEPA filter and I don't want to recirculate the dust I have just vacuumed up. As far as I can tell, the filters are working great. The on-board attachments are easy to use. The flexible hose is a little short but adequate to do what I need to do.

"Absolutely rock bottom reliability & build quality.", This vacuum cleaner is poorly built and designed. It lasted only a year and a half of moderate use in my household. During that time, its wheels broke twice, the lower hose became clogged repeatedly (unclogging it is no easy task either), the cleaner went through belts unreasonably quickly, and it has now given up the ghost with a motor that overheats after about 10 minutes of use.

This is certainly the last Eureka vacuum I will own. I would not recommend it to anyone even at half its listed price. A sad example of junk that is built to disintegrate shortly after the warranty period expires.
