Others say...

"Great product"
Keeps the beverage hot for hours, and, unlike some other products, the lid doesn't have holes that can collect liquid and develop nasty stuff you can't clean out. Happy I bought it.

"Good deal, but not without shortcomings"
Like a lot of other reviewers, I have to mention this arrives poorly packaged... how many of us need to say this before they do something? Nothing was broken, but parts of the outside were a little scuffed (you have to catch it in the right light to notice, though).

Works well, holds a reasonable amount of liquid (about 7 cups, as measured on a coffee maker). This can be a little annoying if you brew a larger amount of coffee (a lot of makers can produce 10-12 cups at one time), but usually someone is there to take some immediately before the rest gets placed in the carafe.

It keeps coffee hot about 4 hours (5 max). After that, it's still very warm but requires some microwave time to get back to temperature. I know several folks are critical of this, but honestly -- use some common sense. This small amount of liquid is NOT EVER going to stay hot for longer than that if you're steadily serving from it. If you fill it to the top, then don't touch it for 10 hours... yeah, it probably would still be hot until you started serving it.

Another caveat: the lid is "dribbly" and probably the only thing I don't like about it.

"Great Carafe..lousy packing"
Product does as promised, keeps coffee hot. Carafe arrived loose in box, lousy packing and the lid was off and all over the box. Carafe was scuffed up a bit in shiping but not enough to send back. I guess free shipping is poor shipping.

"Ink Blue flop"
I was really disappointed in this..really not as nice as presented to be...It was supposed to be a gift, but, to me it looks cheap..

"Alfii Sophie Carafe "
Keeps coffee hot for hours and warm even into the next day. Dark Blue is awesome and doesn't show dribbles. Lid works easily and remains sealed when not in use. I rate this product as excellent and a very good buy.

What our customer's say!

"Blue & white", I have this in both blue and white. I use blue for coffee, white for tea, just to keep those flavors completely separate.

To update a few of the reviews below... they've fixed the shipping problem. Both carafes came over-packaged, if anything. Extra box, bubble wrap, foam peanuts. No more problems on that score.

My blue carafe is shiny, but not that nice dark midnight blue in the picture above. It is a much more primary blue. Still nice, but not the elegant blue that you see in the picture. The white is a very nice shiny, smooth white. I'm sure over time that the finish will dull with repeated washing, but it hasn't happened yet.

Performance has been great for me. I do not wish to drink coffee or tea that is more than a few hours old, so I have no need for a 13-hour carafe. I preheat with hot water; I like my drinks piping hot. Works fine for 3-4 hours; haven't really tested it scientifically.

I personally think these are nicer looking than the stainless carafes that are out there, and I purposely chose this line because I could get different colors to differentiate the drinks for parties and whatnot. One hand operation is a breeze. The spout does not drip.

Size has been great. I use the Nissan thermal French press for coffee (about a quart) and the Chantal white quart teapot for loose tea. When I brew a full serving in these, they fill up the carafes nicely.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned yet. The lid holds condensation and it's hard to get it all out. Impossible, I'd say. That gives me a little bit of pause what with bacteria and all, but I think that is a feature common to all thermal carafes like this. I just do my best to shake out all the water and leave it exposed to the air at all times. I do not store the carafe with the lid screwed on. I also do not add any dairy products to the carafe.

These are made in Germany.

"Great Carafe for The Price", First I want to respond about the comment regarding 8 cups - this refers to 8 "cups" as in old style cups (think fine china) you would drink from. These traditionally were 4 oz - half the size of a cup as a unit of measurement. Incidentally this is the same as on your coffee maker, when it says a cup it is usually 4 oz (some are about 5 oz) referring to the drinking cup. Not sure? Then fill your coffee pot to the 10 "cup" line and see how many ounces you get when measuring, it will be about 40 ounces. Anyway, I digress...

The carafe, keeps my coffee hot for a couple of hours, as hot as if it where out of the pot and certainly saves money on my electric bill for not having the 1000 watts run for hours. I have never had coffee in there longer than 3 hours, but it is just as hot as when brewed, so no complaints. Not sure I would want to drink coffee that has been sitting any longer, so not sure how long it "really" stays hot. But for general all purpose use, it looks decent on the countertop, works well, and is affordable.

"Great Warmth", This was extremely helpful while we were having guests that woke up at various times. The coffee stayed quite warm, and it didn't over "cook" in the french press.

"Less Than Half The Advertised Capacity", Strange but true: this product has fourteen reviews and no one has noticed that its capacity is less than half the advertised eight cups. Eight cups is two quarts. One look told me that it holds about one quart. I measured with a measuring cup and discovered that it actually it holds less than one quart. Then, I read Amazon's Product Features again, with care. Sure enough, it was as I remembered. It states, "8 cup capacity." But wait! I read on to "Product Description." In the last paragraph, Amazon states, "1-liter or 8-cup capacity." Does this mean that, if I want the larger of the two, I have to ask for the 8-cup carafe? Somehow, I think it means that Amazon's copywriter and editor do not know that one liter is roughly four cups. Finally, suspicious, I checked on the one liter claim. Also false. This time, to assure pretty good accuracy, I used a 100 milliliter graduated cylinder of the type chemists use. I followed the manufacturer's instruction to allow a two centimeter space (three-quarters of an inch, more-or-less) at the top and I determined that this carafe hold 925 milliliters. A liter is 1,000 milliliters. A quart is a bit smaller than a liter. Doing the math, I determined that the carafe holds 0.9774 quarts. That is about three cups, seven and one-quarter ounces. The carafe may be a great product but it is misrepresented. One star.

"Not glossy blue, but serves it's purpose", We have had this for about 1 month now. When I first opened the box, I was a little disappointed that the color is not quite the shiny dark blue as pictured, but rather, it is a pen ink blue without the gloss.

Most importantly, it only keeps fresh coffee hot for about 3 to 4 hours, definitely not 13. But it doesn't hold a lot of coffee anyway, about 5 to 6 small cups, so we do typically finish the whole pot of coffee within a couple of hours anyway.

I like the easy one hand operation lid, although it does seem a little flimsy. Hopefully it doesn't break too soon.

"Excellent product", This carafe is exactly as promised. I received the product in a timely manner and undamaged.
I was only disappointed in the way it was shipped. I think I was lucky it didn't arrive broken because it was poorly packed. There was only padding to keep it from shifting side-to-side, but it exactly fit the depth of the box and had no padding between the top and bottom of the box.

"Carafe", We bought these so our guests could have ice water in their rooms. The ice literally stays frozen for days...even when the top is off.

A good value and does the job for our B & B guests.

"good product, bad packing", The orders arrived promptly, however two carafes were broken on the pour spots due to not enough packing material. one was replaced quickly and the second has yet to appear. Lovely color and works well. replacement item was very carefully packed and undamaged.

"Attractive, But Doesn't Deliver", The upside is that it's very nicely priced, it's easy to clean, and very attractive in the Ink Blue. The downside is the most important part...it only keeps my coffee at a farely hot temp for about 3-4 hours..after that my coffee is just warm.

"Amazon made right on poor packaging", The first one arrived somewhat loose in a box, must have rolled around because the shinny finish was marred and couldn't be corrected. I sent it back and had a replacement sent. Much better care was taken with second shipment and it arrived nice and shinny. This is an outstanding carafe that seals really tight at the top to keep the coffee hot. Superior to the Thermos brand carafes. For serious coffee drinkers it's much better drinking coffee from a carafe than coffee that's been cooking on the coffee maker burner a couple hours.
