Others say...

"Ok, but not great. Lasted about a year"
For the price these are ok but had problems with the microphone after about 6 months and it finally went out completely after a year. The over the ear style takes a little getting used to and can be uncomfortable with glasses.

The speakers still work fine and the sound is good. Easy to connect and didn't require any special drivers.

"Great Headset"
The headset is really comfortable to wear (especially when you skype for long hours) and the long cord gives you some room to move. A good deal and I'm totally happy with my purchase.

"CHAT HEADSET = JUST OK"
PRODUCT DID NOT WORK FOR ME...SO I HAVE ASKED A FRIEND TO CHEKC IT OUT..I WAS UNHAPPY WITH THE PRODUCT.

"Affordable, reliable, and comfortable"
I own two of these -- one that I use for podcasting/Skype at the office, and one that I use for online gaming/Skype at home. I've been extremely pleased with both. The light weight makes them comfortable for several hours of use (I've gone a good five or six hours without taking them off -- and not feeling like I needed to) and the flexible boom mic stays out of the way, yet picks up my voice without me needing to talk any louder than a normal speaking volume. I've traveled with these with no problem, and the inline mute/volume has been a lifesaver on many podcasts.

The foam earpieces are essential but have worn away and fallen off, after which the headphones are understandably no longer comfortable to wear. I'd like to buy replacement foam pads, but they're not available. That's truly my only negative to an excellent value and some comfortable, reliable tech.

"Logitech Chat Headset"
This chat headset is very useful. You can chat with other people on the Internet, record your voice while reading, sing, movie-making, or even use it to listen to music. I think it's worth it, especially when you can buy it for cheap.

What our customer's say!

"Painful", I found these hurt my ears after 15-20 mins. They worked well and the sound quality wasn't bad over skype, but the uncomfortable design is a significant setback.

"Hurt my ears", Kinda sharp plastic hurts the tops of my ears where it rests. Almost cutting my ears. Better than any other headset I've tried though. Had complaints about sound quality but that may be the fault of software.

"Not a bad occassional use headset", Pros: Light, have different coloured ear covers. Sound and microphone are good
Cons: If like me you use them everyday then will wear out quickly. The foam headphone covers fall off and the foam covering the microphone has fallen off.

"At the 3-month mark~ @_@", Well, the price was just right and I got 3 due to the pricing~

Their fates are, after 3 months of continuous use:

1. Working just fine, clear sound, working microphone ^o^
2. Microphone is not picking up sound, unless you stuff it in your mouth basically @_@;
3. Microphone does not seem to work at all, and was a bit dodgy from the beginning

1 and 3 were taken very good care of, 2 might have been been or twisted a few too many times ^o^

Still, was worth the price for the usage I got from it ^__^

"For the College Student without Wireless", Here's two plus years of experience with my current set summed up into pros & cons.

Pros:
- Long cord is great for those who move around their desk a lot.
- Price when I bought it and current price (3/5/08) is affordable and won't break the bank.
- Side panels on the earspeakers are changeable for those who like personalizing their items. With the set I had you could chose from red, black, blue, and orange changeable covers.
- Good for basic chat needs.
- Headset has a volume adjuster on the cord as well as a switch to mute the microphone.

Cons:
- Band that goes around the head is not adjustable. Those with larger heads may have problems getting the headset to fit.
- Plastic on the headband, particularly over the ears, has had issues with having some sharp plastic edges. On mine it was particularly noticeable over the right ear. I had to file it down a little for it to be wearable for longer periods of time.
- Foam over the microphone and earspeakers easily tears and/or comes off.
- The color on the customizable covers can be easily scratched off on all except the black covers. With the exception of black, the covers are actually silver colored with a red/blue/orange color coating.
- The tool supplied to take off the customizable covers is VERY tiny. It's about a half inch long and maybe a quarter inch wide, if that. Aside from being easily lost, if you have one cover that just doesn't want to pop off, the size of this tool will not give you leverage.
- Will not record quality sound. If you need some recording done, this isn't what you are looking for.

Other:
- Even after adjusting programs/computer, sound output from microphone tends to be quieter/lower in volume in comparison to other headsets. As this didn't always happen, this could be the settings on my friends computers, but my headset was the only one they were having issues with and this was across various chat programs. In any case, if this is an issue with the headset, it could be a problem for people trying to listen to you if they have music/game sounds/etc also going through their speakers that they are listening to.

Summary:
The price is really what makes this headset. (A higher price would have knocked this down a star.) These are the rag-tag pair of headphones you can take to a gaming/chat session, beat up and/or lose and not be terribly worried about it. For students, the extra long cord is great for letting you get up and walk around the dorm room. However, if you want something lasting, comfortable, or with better sound quality (mostly with the pickup in the mic), then I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"very uncomfortable", I've owned this headset for about 3 years, it came free with a collectors edition of UT. It is HORRIBLY uncomfortable. The plastic piece that sits on top of your ear has a slot cut in it for the wires that run to the earpieces. The sharp edges of the slot press down on top of your ear and become very uncomfortable after a little while. I had to wrap mine in yarn to make it usable.
I will say it has been pretty durable, and I don't have any issues with its functionality.

"Not worth the money", Logitech 980158-0403 Internet Chat Headset

I feel very dissapointed about the product. The mic does not pick up your voice the way it shoud, maybe because when you put the headset on the mic is too far from the mouth.

One more thing, the headset fits loose. No matter in what possititon you put it, will always feel loose unless you wear a dreadlocks wig.

This is the first item I provide a feedback about and I've been buying for quite some time. don't buy this.

"Great price and works well.", I purchased this from an amazon seller and I was hesitant because the price I was so reasonable, I figured it may end up being a piece of junk. I was wrong. It works fine and for the casual user who wants something inexpensive for basic things like internet chat, etc., this works great. I purchased mine to use with Skype chat in order to answer questions I receive from my e-bay store customers. Voice chat makes it easy for e-bay shoppers to contact me and the Logitech headset has worked great since I got it a couple of months ago.

"surprisingly inexpensive", Great product and very inexpensive! I bought it "refurbished" and S$H cost more than the product. Works well on my new laptop for phone clals overseas as well as for just headphone function.

"Works well... the first few times", This headset was great after I bought it... for the first few times I used it! The microphone just quit working :( I don't recommend it as it is pretty cheap.

Just as some other reviews state... it does pench your ears, but it's not too bad. It penches a little, but not very noticeable.
