Others say...
"Love This Faucet!" I use it for cooking. I use it for my dog's water. I use it for cleaning. The faucet works very well and I am enjoying it immensely. I would say the greatest advantage of owning one is cutting down on drinking water for the dog (we don't like him drinking straight tap water) and the peace of mind in knwoing that our vegetables, once rinsed, do not contain any chemicals or contaminants. Bravo Brita! "Waste of Money" I am totally dissatisfy with this product and this is damn waste of money. Brita base was working for just 2 week initially and now I able to get a water from filter but there is no light glowing either green or red. The base was showing red flash light on end of first week for the first new filter which suppose to come upto atleast 2 months. I recommed you all... DONT BUY IT. "lasts about two weeks" the thing is junk. the first week it was awesome; easy to install, and the water came out clear and tasty. the second week it started leaking and while filtering the water, instead of having a steady stream coming out of the thing, it just dripped slowly. so slowly that it took 2.5 minutes to fill a glass with water. the thing sucks. "Good value, no problems with this Brita filter" I love this filter. It has functioned perfectly for me without any problems. Just yesterday the "red light" change indicator came on after contanst use for 4 months. I think that is much better value than the Brita pitchers. Plus, there is no "plastic" taste if your water sits in the fridge pitcher too long. I highly recommend this water filter. "call for a replacement" My collar was stripped the first time I took it off, but they replaced it with a call to 1 800 24 brita

What our customer's say! "Does it's job but...", This product works well to start but the plastic does cheapen it. I wish it was all metal. Mine hasn't broken or cracked but I feel like I need to be very delicate with it. "made to break", I was really happy for the first bit with this filter but then I should have read the reviews here before I bought. I'm not even finished the second filter (not even four months of owning) and this thing pops off repeatedly due to the shallow plastic threading on the tap mount having weakened to the point of no return. I have to gingerly turn the water on so I don't get a face full of water. really poorly made. "A 5 Star Product With 1 Star Durability", I would give it 5 stars if it lasted more than two or three months. It did make our water and ice cubes taste better. We particularly enjoyed the fact that as ice melted, the taste of the water in the glass stayed fresh. Every one we have bought developed a leak from between the screw-on collar and the valve body. This means that unfiltered water sprays or runs into the pitcher or glass you are using. We first thought we might be overtightening it, so the next one was tightened only enough not to leak. It failed. With the next one, we tried to avoid putting too much stress on it when we moved the lever. So, the next one was actually secured to the faucet spout with tape to take any stress off the attachment of the body to the faucet. It failed. It's too bad Brita can't tell the Chinese factory to use a little better or thicker plastic to make this product stay in one piece. Chinese shortcutting has increase their profit by a nickel per unit, but has lowered durability and has already cost them sales, at least in this household. "works great for the price; your mileage depends on your water", I've bought two of these faucet-mount Brita systems now, and they're the best solution I've found for getting cleaner, less-smelly water in a reasonable time w/o taking up a lot of room. I have a friend with a Pur faucet filter and it seems to take forever to run enough water for a glass of water. The Brita is faster. Counter-top models can generate mold (unless you actively wash them enough - which almost no one seems to do), and they take up room. Looks: I prefer the chrome filter, which looks fine to me (unless it were chipped, it wouldn't look fake). I've seen cheap chrome film on plastic, and this is definitely a few grades up. of course it's not actually metal. Taste: Water quality is good but could be a little better. I doubt any similar system would do better w/o moving up a digit in price. Odd fact: my cat loves this filtered water and begs for it. Makes sense, but interesting treat. Quality: I think I can shed some light on the "it doesn't last" question: It may depend on your water. Mine lasted quite a long time for a cheap, easy to use water filter, IMO. 2-3 years. Regardless of how well the filters do, the water still goes through the faucet system attachment ring before it reaches the filter. This means that the system gets lined with the same sediment buildup you would see on any plumbing fixtures in your home if you didn't clean them. After awhile, a simple faucet filter system will start building up residue at the seams and leak and eventually crack. (At least that's my theory after having some success brushing the rings on the first one to extend its life.) It's not a $300 under-sink system, after all. If the fixture just doesn't fit -- and it fits my standard builder faucet fine in a 14-y.o. home--you should contact Brita or return it. That's not really a quality issue. I'd buy the system from a local store if you have a really old or unusual home so it's easier to return. "Good but might fall off", This is a great product but it can be very easily knocked off the faucet. Adapters are all rubber instead of metal with rubber washers, making a very non-rigid connection. I have no problems with leaks and the filtered pressure is adequate. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Cheap, but you can do better.", My problem with this unit is after the first filter the LED lights no longer work. Is there a battery? If yes, how do I change it? Does it hurt this filter if you run hot water through it? Easy to do by mistake, but no answer I can find. Everyone is worried about chemicals and lead, but that's kids stuff. Bacteria will make you sick! For the price they charge for these filters you will save in the long run AND get better purification with an under sink unit. I have no idea. I am going on to a under sink filter. Cheaper in the long run AND they filter bacteria. "Not so durable...another plastic failure?", Mine started leaking between where it attaches to the faucet and the main body of the filter, but it lasted about 8 months and did the job. Too bad that it's not constructed out of more durable materials as the sink gets hard and heavy use...there is a year warranty on the thing and this one is going back. "Delicious, wonderful water but DOES NOT LAST!", I was THRILLED with this product... for about two months. It does a wonderful job delivering clean water and is well-designed and easy to use. HOWEVER... like the other reviewer stated... it breaks down very fast. LEAKING begins at the joints where the plastic parts develop cracking and after that forget it! IMPOSSIBLE to fix. We tried an old-fashioned hardware store and they had no advice either. We had already bought 2 large packages of filters from a BJs Warehouse store and the first box outlasted the darn filter system.... so we bought ANOTHER filter system and it TOO broke down in a few months after normal usage. If the joints had been made with metal, perhaps the product would last. Instead, like everything else, the PLASTIC wears down far too soon. I, like so many other consumers, am SICK TO DEATH of buying expensive junk that breaks down almost as soon as you buy it. I would have been willing to pay more for metal parts-- that would last-- instead of having to throw both of these into the garbage in less than 10 months. Too bad, as it did a great job filtering the water. BUILT IN OBSOLESCENCE!! We consumers are sick of it! Thank you to all for adding your own reviews so we can all share the truth about these products and help others avoid this kind of costly mistake. I will stay away from Brita in the future because of this one bad experience. I hope the manufacturers wise up and read these reviews as well. "This is a great product", I have had very good luck with this filter system. I live on a lake and have well water. This makes it taste so good, I cannot thank brita enough. No more hauling water from the store. Kevin Storey "Drinkable Tap Water!", We've had ours for a year and it works like a charm. The only problem is that, we have to take the unit off the faucet because we need the water to filter through another unit for our aqaurium. Even through all that, the filter works fine! No leaks anywhere whatsoever! Although it is a hassle taking the unit off the faucet, at least it allows us to clean the lil mesh filter, which is always full of lil metal pieces (we live in an old house). ![]() |
