"For over 5 years this Pot has rocked!!"
I bought this for my wife in lieu of installing an instant hot dispenser. I choose to write a review today, because for the third time in 6 years, I traveled to my parent's house to replace the under sink instant hot.

I clean the tank about twice a year. We are lucky to have great water here and rarely get buildup in the tank. For 5 years this pot has kept hundreds of gallons of water at 208F without a hiccup.

If you need hot water in an instant, this pot is for you. My wife drinks 3 cups of tea a day. I make a cup of instant coffee every morning. That's approx 8500 times this little gadget has given us water and it looks brand new, inside and out.

I don't know of any other product in my home that I would call bullet proof, but this one is. Buy it, enjoy it for years

"How did I get along without this????"
What more can I say? Boiling water available 24/7....if you drink tea, it is wonderful; no waiting, plenty of hot water at the push of a button. I love it.

"Worth every penny"
This machine has changed my life. Ill never go back to using a stovetop kettle again. No more waiting for water to boil, its ready when I want it. And its ready at the temperature I want. 212,208,195 or 175.And it has a 7 hour delay which is perfect no matter if Im at work or asleep for the night waters ready when Im ready for it. Well worth every penny.

"Expecting more"
Don't get me wrong, I love my instant hot cup of tea, but I was expecting more from Zojirushi since my rice cooker is so awesome.

The timer is 7 hours. No more, no less. I was expecting some adjustability.

The pot is warm on the sides. Not scalding hot, but still it means it's wasting heat.

When I get one for home, I'll probably get the better model that has insulation to prevent the heat loss.

"essential for tea drinkers"
the other reviews say it all, if you drink tea, and especially if you love the variety of teas that require distinct temperatures then you will derive amazing benefits from this product. i highly recommend it. i own two of them, and it keeps me all tea'd up all day.

What our customer's say!

"Zojirushi review", This is a great product. The water comes out smoothly and is very hot.

The reason I give it 4 starts instead of 5 is that unfortunately, the cord is attached by a magnet to the electric pot itself and very easily becomes accidently unattached if the pot has been moved slightly or something has been put down near the cord. We've had the experience several times of finding that this has happened and thus the water is no longer hot. Although the magnet makes it easy to join the cord to the pot, it should really be redesigned so that it can't come out so easily.

"The Neatest Kitchen Gadget I own!", I love this thing! I have only had it about a month so I can't offer an opinion on durability but it does exactly what I want it to do. It is simple to operate and the water level window and digital display are easy to see. I initially decided to buy the 3.0 liter model. That sounds like a lot of water but it really isn't. The 4.0 liter was a better buy at the time & I'm glad I bought it. It is not so large that it looks out of place on my counter & I don't have to refill it as often. You can not set it to turn on at a specified time as with a programmable coffee pot. It can only be set to turn on 7 hours from the current time. I thought this might be a sticking point but it is not an issue for me. If I set it at bed time I normally sleep at least 7 hours so I have hot water when I get up. It does take 20+ minutes to heat up initially but I'm usually not in that much of a hurry for hot water. The fact that it has 3 temperature settings is great for tea drinkers. I use the highest setting for black teas & my coffee press. Later in the evening if I switch to green or herbal teas I set it at one of the lower temperatures. On weekends I leave it on all day long. I did read recently that you should not reboil water for making tea. Always start with fresh water. Apparently, reboiling water affects it in a way that alters the taste of tea made with it...Oh well, I am not sensitive enough to notice the difference so I'll continue to use my favorite kitchen gadget!

"LOVE this!", I have had my Zojirushi a little more than a month and I adore it. It is perfect for my teas - they have never tasted better. It keeps the temperature great - one reviewer complained about that and the issue is really that the tea can cool slightly on the way out to your cup (the manual even mentions this and says that to prevent it, run a cup of water through first and use the second cup on your tea/soup/whatever as the second cup with be closer to the internal temp - I use that first cup to warm my tea cup or pot).
This Zojurushi is light, even when filled with water it is easy enough to lift with the handle, turns smoothly and is very easy to wipe clean. The timer is wonderful - you can set it for it to be either 208 or 195 in 7 hours. I wish the timer could be set for 175 but at least it doesn't take too long to cool for 195 to 175.
This appliance now ranks as one of my top three favorite kitchen appliance, right up there with my Tiger rice maker and my Kitchen Aid stand mixer.

"Working great!", We use this product at work in our Coffee Room. To overcome the 7 hours timer installed in the pot, we just don't use it and use an external
timer bought from Home Depot.

"A Tea Lovers Dream!", After reviewing all the different electric dispensing pot, I decided on the Zojirushi. I have owned Zojirushi in the past and it has been a wonderful product. Once again I can say that I am impressed with the quality and ease of use. I use it multiple times a day and bought my best friend one for her birthday. We use it for mostly tea but my family use it to make oatmeal or hot chocolate too. The price at Amazon was right and I would buy again. Just watch the amazon discount. I purchased it for 25% off, when I went back to order my friend a few days later the price went up. Now today it is back to 25% off again. Hope this helps in your decision.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Won't work over 5000 feet elevation per Zojirushi service reps.", I bought this item based on the outstanding reviews I found on this site. Only to receive the item and read the owners manual to discover it does NOT work at high altitudes (over 5000 feet). I called customer service to have this fact confirmed twice. So if you live above 5000' don't bother to buy it. It will NOT shut off and WILL start fires. I got to pay shipping both directions. What a waste!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Only Wish I'd Found it Earlier!", I just got back from a trip to Japan where our hotel rooms were equipped with these - they run continuously and were kept next to the standard hotel coffee/tea set ups. It produced bountiful small cups of hot green tea - I always liked small cups of tea but always got the large size cups/mugs to keep myself from running back to the stove all day to fill up on hot water - this takes all that away - you can fill up wherever and whenever you're ready to - I plan to get one for my home office to keep next to my computer. First am getting my Mom one for Christmas! This answers a lot of her tea problems - she also drinks tea all day long, prefers to drink small hot cups (and this has a reboil feature which can always bring water up to the appropriate temperature) - plus Mom's getting dangerous around a stove - will cook with kitchen towels and forget she's left them on the hot stove! - This is much safer! (as well as a towel-saver!) Am ordering nice tea ceremony handle-less handmade cups from Japan to help honour the arrival!

"A great kettle but i got it for less", i'm a regular amazon customer but i got this kettle for less at bed bath beyong with a 20% coupon -- price, convenience & quality.

"Love it--Money well spent", Love it love it love it! I was hesitant to spend so much money on a hot water dispenser, but I have not regretted it. It gets used much more than I anticipated. I take it to church functions with a selection of teas and instant coffees, hot chocolate and chai, and it's always a hit. I use it at home all the time, and drink much more tea now that I'm not always warming up water. Can't recommend it enough!

"I love this pot", I have had this pot about 2 years now, and it functions flawlessly. I have always been a tea drinker, and after my last tea kettle broke (again!), I did some looking and came across this pot. It's not a cheap pot, but I have blessed the day it came into my house. I can't boil the pot dry--it would shut down anyway, and after burning up a couple of tea kettles because I went outside for just a few minutes after putting them on and didn't come back in right away, this was important. It really does dechlorinate, so when I start to taste a little chlorine in the water again I empty the pot out and refill it completely, whcih takes care of it. For as much as I use this pot, day in and day out, a number of cups of tea a day, I appreciate it every time I use it. The water is always piping hot (I really hate tepid tea) when I want it, no waiting for a kettle to boil. It has a 7 hour timer so it can be turned off at night and will have the water hot for me when I get up in the morning. I could wish it had been priced a little lower, but I would not want to sacrifice the quality for a lower price. It still looks brand new after 2 years, too.
