"Not so hot", I like a crisp, light waffle. This iron just doesn't get hot enough to attain either crispness or lightness. It bakes well but the result is halfway between a waffle and a pancake.

"perfect waffles every time", My kids were crazy for waffles so I purchased this waffler. I follow the recipe provided, paint a dab of olive oil on the apparatus prior to adding the batter, and...yum!

Compact, space-efficient design that stands upright on hinge to store. No on/off switch. Convenient cord storage on underside. Similar discontinued model had full 800 watts power. After 8 weeks, so far so good for occasional waffle-making Sundays. The test will be whether it lasts 20 years.
Update: THE "READY LIGHT" FAILED AFTER 5 TIMES. RETURNED UNIT TO MANUFACTURER ON WARRANTY. NOT REPAIRED: A RECONDITIONED "BELGIAN" WAFFLE IRON WAS SENT AS REPLACEMENT. WOULD NOT CREDIT FARBERWARE AS A PRODUCT OR FARBERWARE'S WARRANTY AGAIN.
