"Great Tool!"
This little guy is awesome for rating power consumption! I plugged a small power strip into it, and connected a computer with dual flat-panel monitors, and rated overall power consumption over a day! Using this utility, you can really see how much power your items are taking up, and how much money they are costing you per hour! (Also, a cool thing to check is how much power things use while off! You would be amazed!)

The interface is simple, and easy to use! Everyone should keep one in their house, and use it!

"Great little device. Footprint needs updating"
Purchased this to get an idea of device loads.. and particularly vampire loads. It helped me identify which were the worst offenders, and with some devices, interestingly, there was zero draw when off. This was the case with my 7+ yo TV. It's definitely a handy gadget.

The one issue I have with it is the footprint. It's sized just big enough that it covers at least one open plug when you plug the unit in. If they fixed that it'd be a 5-star.

"Kill A Watt Is More Than Advertised"
I bought this to determine Kw usage around the home and it really does work. I also used it to teach my 7 year old about current, voltage, and watts.
Well worth the money.

"So useful... I love this gadget."
I don't know how I didn't have one of these before now. It works great, the display is clear (but you may need a light to read it under a desk, or behind furniture). I've used it to see how much power my PC was using to choose an appropriate power supply, and how much money I'm spending running that old refrigerator. (By the way, my mid/high-end PC only uses about 300W so no need to waste money on a crazy 600W+ supply, and a new energy efficient fridge would pay for itself in a few years).

Well worth the money spent on it. I highly recommend it to others.

"Garbage! Waste of Money."
After about five uses, it started registering my household voltage as 175V and 24A on a 120V 10A refrigerator. The manufacturer said it was a calibration problem and that they would not fix the device or refund my money. They said to go after Amazon.com. What a piece of garbage with horrid support.

What our customer's say!

"Valuable tool for energy calculations...", Works very well and provided all necessary information for analysis of power quality and quantity. Highly recommend.

"I did not know that used 20 watts when it is off.", There is a CD player in our basement that my wife uses sometimes. This told me that even when it is "off" it uses 20watts. A power strip solves the problem, but unit allowed me to conduct an inventory of my house looking to deploy these. Use it with a three/two prong adaptor and a short extension cord, so you can test hard to see plugs and insert it in two prong extension cords.

Unlike the ammeter which clamps around a cord, you have to turn things off and unplug things to test them. Also this does not measure smaller than 1 watt, so you wont get much results trying to test those power bricks when the are not doing anything, but you can verify that there are not surprises.

"Great Device, Delivers As Promised", Very pleased. Works exactly as I expected/desired. The negatives I read about prior to using the product seem very overdone. Do yourself a favor, like I did, and attach a 10" pigtail to the device (available at most retailers). With this addon, you won't have any problem plugging the device into any standard outlet, even if the other plug in the outlet is being used. My pigtail lights up, so it also confirms a good connection. Easier to manipulate the device and read the display. Very easy to read display, disregard commenters that state otherwise. In the dark, use a flashlight to read the digits, if necessary. I gathered some very interesting data, such as a string of lights I have up around my patio that I've always been curious what they're consuming, given that the box they came in gave no indication of the strand total or the individual bulbs. Turns out the 100+ lights use 38 watts under full load. Pleasantly surprised on that one. My girlfriend's cell phone charger uses 0 watts when it's not charging, even though a tiny LED shines, indicating it's plugged in. I've had a lot of fun with the device and I'm sure it will prove to be very useful in the coming months/years.

"P4400 kill a watt monitor", Good little unit, the only draw back is you have to get down on your hands and knees to read it. It would be nice if it could retain data for a few a little while so you could take it out to read it.

"Kill A Watt", Everyone needs this monitor. When complaining about the cost of power bills you might be shocked to find out how much your are paying just for technology you have plugged in around your house and not being used. As Vice Chair of the Efficiency and Conservation Sub Committee for the State of Alabama we are looking at implementing a technology call "GreenSwitch". GreenSwitch will turn off all lights, turn up or down theromstats, and turn off all electrical outlets when you are not home or "retired for the night". We were absolutely shocked at how much "vampire power" is being "sucked" out of hour homes. The DOE says this is 10%-15% of our powerbills. We highly recommend all states adopt this technology. It is simple and it works. Everyone knows how to turn a switch on or off. That is all you have to do with this technology (GreenSwitch).

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Exceedingly useful", What can I say? Buy one and use it. It yields valuable information, interspersed with the occasional "does that device *really* draw that much when it's turned off" surprise. The P4400 gives you the raw information. There is an upscale model that might save you some keystrokes on the calculator.

I have thoroughly enjoyed mine. And it has been quite genuinely useful in addition.

Delivery was prompt. No problems.

"P4400 Kill A Watt", Simple, effective, and cheap. A real eye-opener. Really helpful in defining a cost-benefit analysis to determine whether replacing an appliance will be cost effective. I've loaned it to several people and they think it's great, too!

"Handy tool to have", A great little tool that does what it's supposed to do. It lets you know how much power any appliance draws, so you which ones are better left off most of the time.

"Review", Excellent product - I use this one on my back-up generator in the AC plug output (generator is located in our tool shed about 30 feet from house) - we have more than a few electrical power outages in YAAK, MT. It's great and quick to look at this instead of using my hand held tester (and flashlight in my mouth - this doesn't work to well with bi-focals) to measure voltage output from the generator. Also use one in the house to monitor the generator output. My appliances don't seem to work well under low voltage.

"Does what it says, no frills", Not much to add to my title. Buttons were a bit confusing when I first received it, but 20 minutes of google/wikipedia browsing cleared everything up. Only done a couple items so far, but it seems to work fine.
