Others say...
"Excellent!" My girlfriend and I purchased this machine about a month ago because our new apartment does not have a washer/dryer. After a lot of research we decided on this model and so far have been very happy and impressed with it. It does an excellent job washing clothes and is very easy to use. It also came in great condition. I would have given it 5 stars but for a couple issues. 1) The directions are easy to follow putting it together, BUT- INSTALL CASTERS BEFORE THE BOTTOM PANEL. As other have pointed out, two feet are very easy to take off, and two are very difficult. This is because the two rubber feet are secured on the inside, and unless you remove the nuts they will be almost impossible to remove. With all 4 casters installed, the machine is very convenient and moves very easily. 2) We have experienced a very small leak on the high water level/heavy wash setting. Hopefully this doesn't continue or get worse so we don't have to call in for service- at this point the negative doesn't outweigh all the positives. 3) A small amount of water remains in the machine after washing, so we cannot remove the drain hose when the machine is not in use. Another thing that is not a big deal, but still a little inconvenient, and just a warning to future users to be careful removing the drain hose after use. Besides these few issues the machine is great and I would highly recommend it! We do all our laundry with cold water to save on hot water and it still does a great job. The spin cycle is very effective and the lint catchers also do a great job. It is on the big side but completely worth it for the extra capacity, and with this and a $20 drying rack you'll never have to go back to the laundromat again. Enjoy! "Seems to work well....." Just got this little guy yesterday. Set up and install was easy, with a few minor annoyances. Washed a few loads and it seems to work really well, clothes come out clean and the spin cycle gets a lot of water out. I've been very careful not to put too many items in it so that it won't become unbalanced and all the clothes have room to agitate. Overall a very quiet unit, the spin cycle makes the most noise and it's actually quieter than my dishwasher and quieter than most regular washers, so I'm happy with that. It does make a slight tack tack tack noise during the spin cycle if there is a little imbalance inside the tub. I just ignore this, since it's designed to auto correct if it detects an imbalance it doesn't like. Annoyances: 1. Like everyone else, mine arrived with dents. Luckily, mine were small dents and didn't affect it's functioning. 2. Bottom plate did not line up with all the screw holes, so only three sides are screwed on. It seems to be staying on fine, but I may drive a sheet metal screw through the last side just to prevent any rattling in the future. 3. Leaving the faucet on during the whole cycle is a problem as the back pressure on the fill hose causes water to spray out where the hose attaches to the quick connect threads. I'm pondering how I can make a better one. 4. The included directions are OK as long as you don't have any mechanical problems. There are no explanations on some of the connectors, so if one of them isn't on tight or doesn't work, you need to figure out why by yourself. 5. Could have been better insulated for sound. Overall this unit is pretty quiet, but the space between the drum and the metal sides could have easily been lined with foam to further dampen sound, especially during the spin cycle. I may try to solve this myself also with some of that stuff they use for car stereo installs to dampen sound. I will post further updates after I have used it some more. Hopefully it won't break! Update 11/26/08 Solved the problem with back pressure causing leaking at the faucet. My fault for not putting TWO rubber washers in the adapter as instructed. Once there were two in there, no leaking. I've learned that the unit makes a little more noise when the load is very small. The spin cycle tends to produce a whump whump whump sound if you only have a few item in it. Not super noisy, but you wouldn't want to run it late at night in an apartment. The only time the unit makes any real noise is during the spin cycle. I purchased a small piece of sound proof rubber mat to go under the unit and that eliminated any vibration going through the floor. Overall, the unit gets clothes very clean and the spin cycle gets a lot of water out. The gentle cycle really is gentle, you can put your lingerie in there and it won't get chewed up. No mechanical problem so far and I do at least 6 or 7 loads a week. "Bad shipping services...returning the product" Haven't got a chance to use it. The product has been damaged badly during the shipment process(Not sure it happened in China to US or Amazon to my home). "Big Blessings Come in Small Packages... " September 26th... almost 1 month and many many loads later, this baby is still humming. The profession I am in causes my clothes to become filthy dirty... this washing machine cleans them like any great washing machine. Do I notice the small dent in the front? NO. I still don't regret getting this puppy. For all of you folks that just get mad and "send it back" try communicating with Amazon's INCREDIBLE customer service! They will make it right with you. Stop whining and start doing the wash! I have owned this unit for 1 day now and couldn't wait to let everyone know how it works. It WORKS! The only reason I gave a 4 star rating is because my washer did arrive with "inside out" damage. Amazon made it right with me within 24 hours by refunding 20% of the purchase price. They would have been happy to replace the unit at *no cost* to me, or refund my entire purchase price upon returning the unit. Anyway, I did 15 loads of laundry yesterday after hooking this baby up. I felt free again. As someone who owned their own home for many years and had to choose an apartment without a washer & dryer hookup when I last moved it has been an absolute nightmare doing my laundry where other people's filth resides. (I feel like sharing washers with strangers is similar to sharing a toothbrush and toilet). Anyway, this washer has every feature of a full sized model and this little washer is SUPER QUIET. And I mean quiet. You will be amazed. I don't regret buying this for one second. I will be happy to update my review in the future as my unit wears. Also, be sure to see the photos I provided above. "excessive damage" I had just received the washer so I haven't used it yet. I will not be ordering anything else due to excessive damage on the machine, from the shipping. It looks like it has a corner at the very front and the side looks pushed in, thats not including the dotted look towards the bottom.

What our customer's say! "Two-month ordeal trying to get parts", Haier has a problem knowing one thing from another. First they shipped me a beer dispenser! I refused delivery, and eventually got the washer. It does have an outward dent in the front, par for the course, apparently. It also has a leak. I called Haier and they immediately set up a visit from a local repair shop. Very pleased so far. The problem is in getting parts. Linda, the parts lady for the repair people, has been very diligent, but the large distributors they usually rely on don't carry Haier parts, so you have to order from Haier, which is like breaking into Fort Knox. This saga started September 24, 2008, and finally on November 23, after contacting a Haier field supervisor for this region, Linda got the parts. Only problem is they didn't send all the right ones. The one thing she mentioned was that instead of a rubber grommet they sent a screw! First a beer dispenser, then a screw. Is there a message there? She's sending the repairman to do what he can and assess the further leaks it's developed, as I've used it (and mopped up) several times while waiting. Then she's going to call the field superintendent and tell him he needs to give me a new machine. I was going to call Haier and demand one, because I've wasted three months overall on this project, but I kept thinking she could get the parts. However, having said all that, I like the machine itself if I can ever get one that doesn't flood me out. It will serve my purposes just fine. "I hate laundromats", But I've been enduring them for the past 9 years thanks to no laundry in my apartment building. However, with our first baby on the way, we finally decided we needed to try to find some solution so we wouldn't have to make daily trips to the laundromat. As others have said, dings are pretty much par for the course thanks to the packaging inadequacies of the product. Ours arrived with a couple on the outside, and there was also a mystery plastic part that was in several pieces -- we had no idea what it was or what its functionality was, but since we'd already lugged this thing into the car from my husband's office and then dragged it up the flight of stairs to our apartment (not that the nine-months pregnant woman was much help), we figured it was worth trying out first to see if it worked. Setup was fairly easy to figure out -- we swapped in the casters and then screwed on the bottom pan (thanks to those who warned about putting it in the right way, as my husband was about to screw it on the wrong way). We've also got a single faucet sink rather than separate connections for hot and cold, but instead of buying the Y connector, we just hooked up a hose to the cold section on the recommendation of another reviewer. One word of warning on this -- be sure you hook the hose up to the cold output and then be sure you're always running cold/cold cycles if you do this. We initially had it on the hot input and then realized no water was getting into the washer. Once we got that stuff figured out, we did a short cycle with low water as a test run to make sure that the broken (and therefore non-functioning) mystery plastic parts weren't going to cause crazy leaks or malfunctions with their absence. They didn't, and the laundry came out beautifully. We've done a few loads since then, and they've all come out great. While we'll still use the laundromat for heavy-duty/large-volume items like our sheets/jeans/towels, it's SO nice to know that when this baby finally gets here, that I'll be able to keep up with her laundry needs without having to leave the apartment. Now I just need her to get here. "Well, there's SOME good news", The great news is that the shipping and purchasing was easy. The return was easy as well. The bad news is that we never got to use our washer because we got the E2 error and when the repairman came to try fixing it, he determined that the machine was not worth repairing due to extensive and non obvious cracking of the cabinet and top. According to him the transmission was also jammed, so even if we hadn't gotten the E2 error the machine would have failed. "My best purchase ever!", I bought this washer back in August 2006 from Amazon for $280. I've been using this washer at least twice a week since I bought it. Surprisingly I haven't encountered any problems. This is a super reliable small washer. I did perform one small hack on my washer. I rigged the washer (it has been a while but I think I used a small alligator clip) so it still runs when the lid is open. Again, everything has been running perfectly since I purchased it. I highly recommend using high efficiency front loading detergent. They make less bubbles and works great with this small washer. A full load in this washer is usually equal to a medium load in a regular washer. So always use less detergent per wash with this washer (although I do have to run 2 loads usually). My typical routine is to start the machine at normal wash and medium water level (default setting). When the washer starts to agitate (wash), I pour in the detergent and wait a few seconds for the the agitator to mix it up. I then add my clothes in and wait another few seconds for all the clothes to get mixed in. If the clothes doesn't move much, then the washer is probably overloaded. I then turn off the machine and back on again at high water level. This way, the detergent is evenly distributed and the clothes are more likely to get clean (if you didn't overload the washer). I don't recommend doing your sheets with this small washer. However, pillow covers are okay. I don't think it does a decent job of washing anything bigger than a bath towel. I go to the laundromat once every month or two to wash the sheets. The washer runoff into my sink has also been keeping my white porcelain sink whiter and cleaner. Thus saving me time of cleaning the sink. I highly recommend a small spin dryer to complement this washer. I've had this addition for a year now and they both work synergistically together. I hang dry most of my laundry except when I'm in a hurry. The spin dryer cuts drying time in half easily. Most spin cycle on washers go about maybe 600 - 800 rpm. My little spin dryer spins at 3000rpm. On a small wash (2 bath towels) it can spin out over a quart of water (over 32fl oz) in less than 2 minutes. That is a significant amount of water to evaporate using normal dryers and hang time. This will shorten your drying time and also save your clothes from heat damage from the prolong drying times. The only catch is trying to balance the load in the small spin dryer. I find it easiest to load all the heavy cotton clothes on the bottom and the lighter synthetic clothes on the top. Then give it a good shove and compress everything tightly down. Thats has worked really well for me. [...] "Great service, price; fast delivery", This machine was a little difficult to assemble exactly according to directions, but we were able to get it together and working well in a couple of hours. There seems to be a slight leak in back because we haven't been able to properly level our unit. Still, it works very well, runs quietly, arrived quickly (without any big dents!), and was less expensive than simpler models sold in local stores. We are very pleased. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "I couldn't expect more!", I brought this washer three years ago mainly because my daughter was born and I didn't want wash my little one's clothes in a public washer. The washer has worked great and never give me any trouble. I couldn't expect more from it. It's perfect for a family size of three. We moved three times since we brought this washer and I didn't have difficulties of moving it because it's light and portable compared to heavy duty washers which you need three or more people to move. My husband and I love this washer so much! "Good machine, great value", I have had this machine for almost a year and love it. It's perfect for one or two people, but you must be careful to not overload it, move it gently and generally treat it with kid gloves. It seems to wash clothes really well, is relatively quiet (except for spin cycle) is compact and does what it promises to do. The water inlet area (where the hose plugs into the back) does leak a little bit and you do have to watch to ensure the drain hose stays in your sink. Would definitely recommend, especially for the price. "Works great", I've had the washer 2 years and it works great. It can be sensitive- but if treated right - it works great. Did have problems with the shipping- the machine came broken first time- however under the warranty - the bad machine was picked up and new one dropped off. We've had no problems since! "Don't get this washing machine", I have had this for 1 1/2 years, and the whole time I wished that I had spent more to get a decent machine.... It makes a lot of noise, and now it will not work. I get an Error #2 which means that the door is not closed properly, yet it is closed properly. After further examination I have discovered that the circuit board for the unit is faulty. The replacement price for the board: $338!!! How is it that they can get away with charging $40 more for the circuit board than the entire unit cost originally? And, Haier technical support leaves something to be desired. You call in a problem and speak to someone who opens up a pdf of the product manual. If they can't figure it out, they take your phone number and say someone from techical support will call you "in about 2 business days. I should have rated this product 1 star.... "It's been a year since I purchased it ...", Well it has been a little over a year since I got this little washer and mine arrived ding and dent free and took about 25 minutes to attach the bottom plate and hose it has been great. Not one problem! So it has paid for itself over the 1.50 to use the washers in the laundry mat. It's quiet spins out excess water well so still a 5 out 5 ! ![]() |
