"unbelievable knives"
These knives are terrific for the price. My husband accidently threw away my original paring knife so tried to replace it from stores in my area. No luck. Found these at Amazon and ordered two sets. The paring knife is slender enough that it makes peeling so much easier. I would totaly recommend them.

"Chicago Tradition Combo"
Great product. Description is perfect. The Chicago knives are a good value, hold an edge, and are easy to sharpen.

"Knife set"
I've very happy with the 5" knife. I had one for many years which was always my favorite knife. Somehow, the tip broke off of it which is understandable after so many years of use. I really just wanted to order the 5" but gladly bought the set to get what I wanted. I'm sure the paring knife will prove to be the same high quality.

"Chicago cutlery knives"
These knives are great. Would definitely recommend them. They are sharp. I love the wooden handles.

"crpalm129"
The quality of the item was good. It's only downside is keeping it sharp enough to do the job. It looses it's edge rather easily.

What our customer's say!

"Exact Replacement", These exactly match a wooden block set that we've had for years. Being able to replace lost or damaged knives in a set make Chicago Cutlery a real value.

"Great", Can't beat the price on these two knives as a package. Not the high end knives but for the money, it is great

"Need a good knife?", I have a whole drawer full of knives, trying to find THE knife, the Chicago Cutlery knife is THE knife. The utility knife from the walnut tradition is my go to knife for everything, from cutting cheese to onions to peeling potatoes, it's the best ever! I have a few of them so there is one for everyone helping with the BBQ. I don't have a problem with them dulling.

"Great product", There were replacements for missing or damaged knifes from our current set. Just couldn't find replacements locally.

"a case of personal preference.", See my comment on the Chicago cutlery bakelit paring knife.

We think they are bargains in the kitchen knife business.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Great cheap knives", I have a few of the Chicago Cutlery knives: this utility knife, a boning knife, a bread knife, and a slicing knife. They're great for what they are--cheap, comfortable, and very sharp. And the soft blade is extremely easy to steel and sharpen.

They are not high end knives. For cutting that requires technique, or high volume (like what you'd use a chefs knife for, or a paring knife) look elsewhere. The CC versions of these knives were not designed for serious cooks. Balance is wrong, stamped blades are difficult to grab. Also the steel is so soft it won't hold an edge for more than a minute of hard use. Look to the higher end german, french, or japanese knives for the real workhorses.

But for your other knives, these can't be beat these for price. And I love the feel of the wood handles.

"You can'b beat the value", I have used these knives primarily for processing my own deer. Growing up my dad had the same old classic chicago cutlery knifes, and when I moved out and processed deer on my own I needed to buy some knives. So I bought the very same ones... For the price and some good work on a knife sharpener like a Lansky, these suckers can be as sharp as a knife costing more like 10X more. I primarily use these two knifes plus the longer utility knife for butchering many many deer. They might not hold an edge as long as the more expensive ones but when you do alot of work your going to be sharpening them often anyway. Value wise these have got to be the best bang for the buck. I have never had one rust, or anything happen to the edge that couldnt be fixed by a few minutes on the Lansky. The only small complaint I have is that I am lazy and the walnut handles should not be washed in the dishwasher or they will 'weather' rather quickly, so I have to hand wash them. I really like the look of the new all stainless steel handles but I am not sure if the blade profile is the same and I would actually rather keep the old blades with new handles even if I spent over $100 on a new set, just would like the stainless steel handles so I could dishwasher them. Did I mention I like these knives?
:)
