"No more Charbucks for me!"
This is a great espresso machine. No need for my usual trip to Charbucks anymore! I was surprised to learn it has 18 bars of pressure, more than the usual home machine. It makes a great espresso with lots of crema. Steamer is great for frothing milk too.
I love the pod option which I admit, I am addicted to.
No mess with pods and Espressione makes great inexpensive pods also.

"Killer Performance and Durability"
We are very impressed with this machine. The metallic body machine features semi-commercial quality components and comes with the huge 11 ounce boiler. The maximum 2 minute heat up time is one of the fastest on the market for a machine of this caliber.

The Grace comes equipped with two chrome plated brass portafilters, one for ground coffee and one for E.S.E pods. The portafilters have been specially designed to enhance the flavor of your coffee whether you are using ground coffee or pods. E.S.E pods are a convenient, clean, and simple way to make great espresso especially in an office where a mess can be an issue.

The key features that we love about this machine include:

Powerful Pressure Pump

Simple Controls

Powerful Steaming

Commercial Grouphead

Large Aluminum Boiler

Removable Water Reservoir

Heated Cup Stacking Surface

Removable Drip & Cup Tray

Instant Hot Water

2 Unique Commercial Quality Portafilters

The portafilters are made of commercial quality chrome plated brass with a sturdy plastic handle. One portafilter for ground coffee and one for E.S.E espresso pods are provided with the machine. A single and double shot stainless steel standard filter basket is included.
The special espresso pod portafilter provides superior results with almost any standard pod. The pods are inserted in place of coffee grounds. There is NO coffee grinding and no mess. Just convenient and great tasting espresso! When you are finished brewing the espresso, simply remove and discard the espresso pod.

We highly recommend this ESPRESSIONE Grace PG machine. After speaking with the folks from Espressione in Atlanta, we were very impressed with all of the features of this great machine.

"Waiting for the a replacement."
When I recieved the espresso machine, box it arrived in was worn but not noticable damage box. Unfortunately, I was disappointed when I opened the box to this "new" machine and saw water stains and dirt all over the machine (it was in a plastic bag).

Not detered with this, I spent 15 minutes cleaning it up and was ready to make some hot water. With the single serving pod in place, I started the machine. To my surpise an excessive amount of hot water and steam was leaking from the filter holder edges. Upon closer examination the filter holder support seal was not level with the serving pod. It was at incline of 10-15% (in other words it was damaged).

In addition, 10-15 seconds after I turn off the espresso pump and had the serving pod off, it surpised me by spewing out about 1/8 cup hot water.

So far, my experience with this product is greatly less then what I have expected. I have sent it back and am waiting for a replacement. Hopefully, the second time around will be better.

"Grace Espresso"
I've been watching and waiting for this machine for a couple of months. I also have a Briel, which I love, but I needed a second machine for another location. This heats up very quickly and produces a really great crema and it steams the milk much faster than my old machine. The one thing I do prefer on the Briel is the auto espresso flow. The Grace also feels a bit more plastic-y, but it is less expensive. All in all, I'd say it's a great machine for the money!

"GRACE PG ROCKS-Highly Recommend It!"
The ESPRESSIONE GRACE machine produced in Italy is a machine that I've been watching. I was able to get my hands on a pre-production machine from Europe. The machine is awesome beyond words. It produces a rich, hot, espresso coffee with exceptional crema both with the filter basket for ground coffee AND with pods.

There is a powerhouse of plentiful dry steam which is perfect for creating lattes and cappuccinos.

I checking out the machine, I learned that it's produced by Grimac, who enjoys a wealth of knowledge with more than thirty years of experience in the coffee sector. We liked the metallic body machine with it's semi-commercial quality components. Can easily produce many continuous espressos and cappuccinos... ESE adaptable for use with ground coffee or coffee servings (pods) which we purchased the ESPRESSIONE coffee pods from amazon.com.

Go for this machine. If gives the performance of a much more expensive machine at a price below three hundred dollars.

Recommend it highly!!!

What our customer's say!

"Quality control in the toilet", Believe it or not, three and a half years later, I'm having the EXACT SAME experience as Stephen with this. Either I got the exact one Stephen returned, or else this is a common problem that hasn't been fixed in years.

My machine came with dirt and water stains all over it. Remembering that I think I read somewhere that these machines are testing before packaging and therefore have some residual water, I, too, was undeterred and spent the better part of a half hour cleaning it up. (The reason why it took me so long was that in addition to the aesthetic problems, my box also came with 5 loose screws bouncing around in it, whose vacant holes I doggedly tracked down and fixed, one by one).

After firing it up finally, water started spewing from the sides of the filter holder. The hotter the boiler got, the worse the problem got. With some experimentation, I found that the filter holder worked better than the pod holder (because the filter holder has higher edges and thus seals the support seal a little better), but either way, neither worked. And, guess what? Sure enough, I found that the metallic part that juts out from which the water is pumped was not level with the filter holder receptacle. It was at a 15 degree slant or so, which obviously leaves the seal exposed and vulnerable to the pressure, which is why it doesn't hold the water properly.

Needless to say, an hour later, I'm boxing this back up and not even bothering to replace it. I'm just going for my refund and I'll get a different machine instead.

"Makes Excellent Espresso - Decent Quality for the $$", Honestly, for the money, I don't know that you could do much better for the money than this Italian-made machine by Grimac. From what I understand, Grimac hasn't been making their own machines for very long, but has been making replacement parts for leading brands for decades, so their experience runs pretty deep. For a light-commercial quality, 18 bar machine for under $400, it's a decent, although, definitely not top of the line model...you'd pay 3X the cost of this machine for that. Some of the plastic pieces, i.e., the removable drip tray and the water reservoir covers, seem a bit flimsy, and as noted by another reviewer, the silicone sump hoses that route to the reservoir are a bit to contend with and could've been easily designed better. The pump priming procedure is a slight pain, but really you should only have to do this once, unless you run the reservoir dry. I just monitor the level, and top it of regularly to avoid repriming...plus, running a pump dry is not a good thing. Also of note: I don't recall the instructions mentioning using only filtered water in this unit (maybe I missed it?), but this is usually recommended in all pump espresso machines. Not only will your coffee taste better, but it will dramatically cut down on scale build-up.

I bought this machine to replace a Krups 988 15 bar machine, which still works after about 8 yrs. It is being retired to our family's mountain home. The Grace, which I've had for about 4 months now, gets used quite a bit...probably pulls anywhere from 6-10 shots/day for me (single guy) sometimes more when I have company. Going from 15 to 18 bars was noticable. I can go with a slightly finer grind, and tamp my shots a bit more and get fantastic crema with 28-30 second pulls....simply wonderfull. I don't do to many latte/cappacinos, so I haven't used the steamer much, but it does seem to do a decent job...I did not run short on steam, and it brought the milk up to 150 deg in no time at all.

Again, for the price, you won't be disappointed with this machine. It looks very cool (especially in red!) is easy to clean, and most important...makes great espresso.

"Good Espresso - Good luck with instructions", I find the espresso that this machine makes is quite good considering the relatively low price, so thumbs up for that. However, my major complaint is that the instructions are almost incomprehensible. They are clearly, and poorly, translated directly from the mother tongue Italian. It just doesn't make any sense and you're left simply guessing. To this day I am not certain that I'm doing anything the way the designer intended, however, it works and tastes good, so hey...I'd say if you're an experienced barista you'd be OK. If now, have someone teach you or teach yourself. It's definitely not idiot-proof. My second gripe is that the steamer is a pain-in-the-A%@ to clean, yet I expect that is the case for most machines of this caliber.

"Pretty good, although a little flimsy", I had my eye on this machine for some time as a replacement to a very serviceable Krups machine.

On the good side, it makes excellent espresso (and I'm a huge coffee snob that lived in Italy for 4 years): not boiling hot, nice crema, good flow. The coffee baskets (it comes with both pod and regular) are solid and well cast. The machine also looks nice, almost like a coffee shop machine (although it's a bit larger than I thought it would be).

On the bad side, for $350, I thought it was a little bit flimsy. The plastic shell is rather lightweight (I don't hold out much hope for it holding up for almost 10 years like the Krups machine). There were also some loose screws that I had to tighten up when I took it out of the box. The surgical hoses that have to be snaked into the reservoir are also a bit cheesy.

If you're looking at this for home use, and you're tolerant of finicky appliances, than this machine will both look great on your counter and make great espresso. If you're looking for a machine for a restaurant or office environment, you might want to find something that will take the abuse better.

"Always on the go", This is a machine that will look good wherever you put it. Simple yet classic design and so easy to use. A quick push of a button and that's all there is to it.
