"Hot Popper"
I got my corn popper and tried it out immediately. I have had several poppers, but this one seems to pop hotter and faster and more complete than any one I have ever had. So far so good and I know it will get a great work out from me.

"the big popper"
This is the bigger popcorn popper. We just bought this as a replacement after my mother dropped it and broke the lid. It still worked after the drop, which speaks for its quality. Our house cannot function without popcorn on movie night and this popper works.

"Popcorn heaven"
The Westbend stir crazy popper is great & cleans up relatively easy. The greatest thing about it is I am able to buy & pop theatre style popcorn packs that have the oil & corn in individual packs. We enjoy while we watch movies ,etc..

"Stir Crazy Gives Up"
We eat a lot of popcorn and I have had many poppers. I have had my Stir Crazy for about 5 months and it worked niccely for a while.. popcorn pops a bit smaller than air pop.. but nice. The problem is the heating element works sporatically and has now stopped. I am going back to air poppers.

"West Bebd 82308 Stir Crazy 8 quart Corn Popper, Black"
I just love this popcorn popper! We love popcorn at our house and this popper makes such a large amount of popcorn and is very easy to clean. I would definately recommend this to anyone who is looking for an alternative to microwave popcorn. Don't get me wrong, we still use microwave popcorn, we just like this popper when we need more popcorn for the whole family.

What our customer's say!

"Stir Crazy 8-Quart Corn Popper", One of the few products I've purchased and can say I've gotten more than my monies worth. Over the past 30 years, I've owned 5 of the 6 quart models, this is my first 8 quart. These are great at what they do - pop corn. The only problem I've found is you can not clean the base. When my first one quit after 5 years, I took it apart. The built up sludge inside was scary. With a large family, first kids and now grandkids, we use ours three or four times a week.

"IF YOU LOVE POPCORN", IF YOU ARE TIRED OF MESSING AROUND WITH A SMALL POPCORN POPPER THE WESTBEND CRAZY 8 IS WHAT YOU NEED. ALMOST EVERY KERNAL POPS, USES VERY LITTLE OIL, AND MAKES 8 QUARTS OF POPCORN. MY FAMILY OF 5 CAN EAT THIS AT ONE SETTING. WE USE TO HAVE TO MAKE TWO BATCHES, BUT NOW ONE IS PLENTY. THIS IS OUR 2ND POPPER, LASTS A COUPLE OF YEARS. WE USE IT ALMOST NIGHTLY.

"West Bend stir crazy 8 quart corn popper, black", Great popcorn popper. Will save dollars on popcorn bill. buy it for your family today.

"BIG Popper", Large capacity popper does stellar job popping corn, with butter-adding a convenient option. Nice product!

"This replaces the first one.", We had one of these for years. It made perfect popcorn; we never a bad batch, using just a small amount of peanut oil. The larger size of the 8-quart is great if you are making popcorn for several people. With its straight sides and flat top, the inverted cover doubles as a server. When the heating element finally went, it was a no brainer to replace with one of the same. This larger size is nearly impossible to find in stores. It must be popular, because most web sites had it on back-order. Fortunately, Amazon came through

Read this reviews before You buy...

"great popcorn maker, cheaply made popper", I eat a good-sized batch of popcorn almost every nite and have done so for at least forty years. I even grown my own popcorn. I used the 6 quart until about a year ago when I got the 8 quart. The base unit is the same for both. The one I bought within a year ago can no longer be used. Somehow the oil gets into the bottom of the unit and begins to smoke, threatening to set it on fire. The unit gets so hot oridinarily that this is a fire hazard. West Bend has somehow cheapened these things compared to the 6 quart one I used for a good 10 years. If I could depend on West Bend to make a good solid unit I would buy another in a flash as it is the best---when made well. For now, it is back to another brand, albeit smaller, necessitating two batches. For anyone buying these newer machines from West Bend, keep an eye on it for safety's sake.

"if only it wouldn't break", We liked the popcorn popper the 2 times it worked before the stirring rod broke off. Except, we didn't like that the butter did not really drip down from the "well". You put butter on top of the lid and it's supposed to drip into the popper. Instead, the butter sat there and halfway started to drip, then made the lid hard to clean. Bad design. Anyway, about our 3rd usethe stirring rod broke off! Pooey.

"Too much work", I loved the idea of this. I like movie theater popcorn, but this is nothing like it. It is too much work, kernels get stuck, and it leaves the room smelling like burnt popcorn for a couple of days. I gave it away and went back to microwave popcorn.

"This is a great popper ! ", I have the older 6 quart version that someone was throwing away during "hippie christmas" when the apartments turn over and people trash good useful items. I was on my bicycle and debating picking this up because of the teflon finish - I am not into teflon. But the design looked good and the price was right - free! This unit looked in perfect condition so with some trouble I was able to strap it on the bike rack and get it home.

Since I had no directions, I just pour some refined sunflower oil in, and some popcorn the first time was amazed at the perfect and fast popping ! It is so good I make popcorn often now. I don't leave it in the plastic bowl but pour it right away into a stainless steel bowl. Then with a bit of salt ( and tonight with a bit of cayenne and curry powder too ) this popcorn is the best I have ever had .

It would be great if they could make this in a stainless steel version instead of teflon. So far mine has not flaked off any teflon and I hope it doesn't - but even if it did I would consider getting a new one if it flakes off after a lot of use.

"After much research", I decided to go with the West Bend 82308. This thing makes great popcorn no matter if you go with Orville or one of the gourmet types of corn it really is great. Easy to clean with very few moving parts, I'll buy another just like it if I ever wear this one out.
