"Beautiful piece of glass" This is a beautiful piece of glass and a great replacement for the price. Way cheaper then buying a new French-press and probably a nicer piece of glass than you got with the original bodum you bought 5 years ago before tragically breaking it while doing the dishes... This is a great replacement product. If you have the kind of bodum that uses screws make sure you have the super tiny eyeglasses sized screw driver to remount this... "Nice to have a replacement. Too Bad you will need quite a few of them" Its nice to get a replacement for the Bodum carafe, however, they seem to be very fragile and break very easily in the sink. I've broken 2 in the past 6 months. I think I will buy a completely new french press from a different brand if this one breaks as well! "It fits!" Saved me from purchasing a whole new french press. I was unsure if it would fit my Starbucks 8-cup french press but it is an exact replacement. "great replacement" Fit right into the metal holder of my 8 cup Starbucks Coffee Press. Pleased. "French Press Coffee Pot" I like the convenience of ordering French Press coffee beakers from Amazon online. We don't break them THAT often, but when we do, it is nice to know I have an immediate replacement on hand in my home. The price is right as well. A good deal all around.

What our customer's say! "very useful, but very fragile", The french press makes great coffee. The glass carafes are extremely fragile, so expect to break them periodically. Then you have to be meticulous in ordering the replacement to make sure that you get the right size. "Glass Breaks Too Easily", DO NOT BUY ANY BODUM COFFEE OR TEA PRESS THAT CONTAINS GLASS. BODUM USES A SPECIAL GLASS THAT IS EXTRAORDINARILY FRAGILE AND BREAKS FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I love Bodum Coffee Presses. But I would NEVER recommend anyone buy one with a glass beaker. You will need to replace the beaker frequently, since the special glass Bodum uses is extremely fragile, and breaks repeatedly for no apparent reason at all. I replaced four beakers, two glass tea presses, and several beakers from milk frothers in short order before giving up. Make no mistake, you do not have to bang the glass against anything for it to break. It simply cracks spontaneously for no apparent reason Bodum has come out with some presses with a LEXAN clear plastic beaker. These do not break. I assume they came out with the LEXAN product because of problems with the glass. Be warned. "Replacement beaker ", Glass beaker works the same as the old one. I just wish there was somehow they could make the glass a little bit more thicker and durable. They break to easily and I am sure if it tap this one the wrong way in the sink while washing it will break too. "Simple but effective", I bought this as a replacement for a broken beaker from a coffee press of another brand (L'aroma), and was pleased to see that it fit perfectly. "better than the original", I bought my original french press at a thrift store for $1.25. Sure, it was a little worn, but the price was right! After a few months' use, disaster struck when a plastic ladle fell on the carafe. The replacement price at Amazon was the best I found, and I knew it would come quickly and safely. The instructions for how to change out the carafe were clear, and imagine my delight when I saw that this pot had the serving water level on the side. I suppose it had rubbed off of the old one. There were also instructions on using the carafe, which were welcome since I had simply winged it before. Even though I had to replace the carafe, I still have a very inexpensive french press. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Perfect Replacement Glass", This replacement beaker fit perfectly into my Starbucks French Press holder-I'm very pleased with the item "We love this product because we love our coffee", SInce we manage to ding these on the sink, we purchase them in 3's. Love having the ability to replace the carafe as opposed to an entire system. "beware; not all cups are the same.", Wish I had taken the time to read the other customer reviews. Boy was I surprised when my "4 cup" Bodum French press carafe arrived as a dinky 2 cup, but technically it's a "3 cup". HA! I HAD TO REORDER--the really annoying thing is, I could have purchased a new one locally AND PAID LESS for the replacement after incurring 2 shipping fees+return shipping fee. So much for saving a few bucks. Lesson learned. A "cup" is not always a "cup". "An improvement over the original", Replacement Beaker has thicker walls resulting in snugger fit of the mesh filter and better heat retention, and of course better durability!!! The glass itself is also different, this one has a yellow/green hue comparing to the green of the original. "Better than the old one, but . . .", This beaker was the first replacement that I bought. I found that the replacement is a bit thicker and more durable than the original, and the price is not too unreasonable. What I REALLY wish is that Bodum would sell the unbreakable polycarbonate replacement beakers rather than requiring you to buy a whole new press. It would make them less money, but life would certainly be easier for the consumer. |
