"We use these for everything" Pyrex is a great company. I have been using their products for decades. They have not let me down yet. These are durable little cups that are great to use when you want just a little something, anything. We use them for grapes, peaches, Pringles, etc. They are helpful for controlling portion sizes, because using a larger bowl tends to make our family take larger servings. "Great Cups" I was replacing some lost glass cups that I have used for years, (they later turned up as computer part holders). We microwave anything that can fit in them. These are a little bigger and are great for a serving of desert for my kids. We use them everyday, and I'm not sure if we have used them for custard ;) Carol in the Burbs "Custard Cups" These are heavy duty custard cups, up to Pyrex standards. Good product "Was available for 4.99$" I bought this last dec from amazon for 4.99. Why are they selling this for 29.99. I believe this is a mistake. Anyways who would pay 8$ for simple glass custard bowl. "$24.99?" I saw this at my local grocer for $4.99. I am baffled as to why Amazon is selling them for $24.99. As for the product itself, they are great little bowls. Everything you expect from Pyrex. Just don't buy them for 5x their normal cost. edited 4/22: I see the price has dropped considerably. I emailed Amazon about the price of this item, as I thought it was an error, but of course received the typical canned response. I am glad to see they have adjusted the price.

What our customer's say! "great value, lots of use", i bought 2 sets of these for myself and 1 set for a friend. they're great quality and helpful in the kitchen for spices! "Almost like the old ones", I have had pyrex custard cups for years, but I needed more. These are almost the same as the 30 year old ones, but they are a bit larger and the glass is thicker. The old ones actually seem to cook a little more predictably, but these are OK. "Glass Custard Cups", I shopped around locally for this product and couldn't find it. Cups arrived safely and was just what I wanted! "Pyrex custard cups", These items came quickly, were well packed and work perfectly for little bits of this and that or dipping sauces. Read this reviews before You buy... "Another great Pyrex", This is exactly what I was looking for: small prep bowls made of Pyrex. My dishwasher doesn't always get all the dishes spotless, but it's usually the Pyrex and Corelle dishes that come out the cleanest. Since I could be making sauces and have oily ingredients in those bowls, easy cleanup is key. I was also hoping that these could be my extra, alternate ramekins, but they're much smaller than the ones I have, so I'm not sure it would work for that purpose. Nevertheless, I highly recommend these! "The perfect size and you can't beat the price", These are a must-have for any kitchen. Desserts, appetizers, condiments are all beautifully displayed in these work-horse bowls. "Myriad of uses", These little custard cups are fantastic kitchen helpers. They're just big enough to hold spices for cooking, flour for making a rue, butter for melting in the microwave, etc. I also use them to store small leftover amounts of sauces or salad dressing in the fridge. Although they don't come with lids, plastic wrap adheres very well to glass and the wrap is even strong enough that you can stack these cups on top of eachother without tearing the seal. Defintitely buy at least two sets of these custard cups. I always find myself needing more of them! "Last basically forever, very handy", I just bought my own set of these after using them in my Mom's kitchen for years; they're very handy for all sorts of little things in the kitchen, and for serving small things (dips, ice cream, whatever). My Mom's had her's for 30 years, I think, and they still work great (a little scratched up, but what do you expect?). Not one of those things everyone dreams of equipping their kitchen with, but still very useful. "Not your mother's custard cups", for those of you who have used these forever, even tho they are the same size, even tho they have the same little rings around them, even tho they have the same subtle fluting at the top, they've CHANGED these cups. They are now of thicker glass, and the body is a little wider. Why? I have no idea. They're still great, and I love the ones I got, but be aware, if it looks in the picture like the rim is thicker than you remember, that's because it is. If you're a fanatic about everything matching, you're going to have to hit thrift-stores. I _think_ I like the new version better. Use them every day over and over. Wonderful little bowls. |
