"The cadillac of peelers" I've had this baby for over 3 years now. It still peels great and I have yet to replace the blade. The grip is comfortable and you don't have a chance to nick yourself with this one, since it's laid out just like a razor. I'm getting one for my parents. "Awesome!" I love this peeler! I've had mine for about 10 months, I use it all the time & it's just wonderful. I've used it on potatoes, carrots, cucumbers, zucchini, Asian radishes, etc. The blade is still as sharp as it was when I first bought it, it only takes a couple of minutes to peal a massive amount of items, the little thing on the side is really handy for getting those 'eyes' out of potatoes, it's comfortable for your hand & I mean what else could you ask for? :) This is just an awesome little gadget, I use it all the time & I just love it! I would recommend it to anyone. "Buy the standard OXO Y Peeler" Do not buy the i-Series - buy the standard Oxo Good Grips Y Peeler instead. I have both and originally thought "If the standard works this well, the i-series must be incredible" based on the reviews. However, the standard Y-Peeler works much better. The issue with the i-series seems to be that the little nub that keeps the blade from spinning is set ever so slightly too large, which keeps the blade from swiveling far enough to provide a comfortable angle to the vegetable when peeling. Despite the marketing hype, I also find no difference between the blades on the two OXO offerings. "Y-peeler" This peeler works every bit as good as oxo says it does. Treat it more like a knife than a peeler, this sucker is sharp! "Peeler" This is sharp and so easy to handle while using. I really like the fact that really works so well. Kris

Using Oxo's Y Peeler this morning, I prepared a rutabaga effortlessly without a wrist twinge. Those hard, waxy peelings rolled off my rutabaga as if I were using a safety razor to shave my legs. The feather-light wrist actions required to use this vegetable peeler are identical. Until the holidays, I'll use it as an neat cheese slicer, and for grating hard chocolate blocks. It's a perfectly-designed, ergonomic, multi-use kitchen tool! I would even recommend it for use by stroke or accident victims who gamely share in family cooking chores, when they have one usuable hand and an opposite, steadying wrist or elbow. "Great Peeler", Extremely sharp, replaceable blades. This peeler is great. The handle is a little wide for my small hands. I like the rubber on the handle; keeps my hand from slipping. This is a good product, I just enjoy the design of the i-Series swivel peeler better. "Nice Unit!", I really enjoy using this peeler. I also have the OXO straight peeler. The clear plastic guard that is provided should be supplied by the gross! It is too easy to misplace on a granite surface. Otherwise, it does a splendid job peeling virtually anything. Read this reviews before You buy... "handy little tool", The handle is comfy -- like most OXO products -- and the blade is sharp and comes with a little plastic snap-on cover. The only complaint is that it isn't the easiest to clean, esp. if you won't want to put it in the dishwasher. "A new twist on peeling", I was a bit skeptical of Y peelers at first, they seemed so alien compared to the normal way of peeling things. But 5 pounds of potatoes have made me a believer. The sharp peeler breezes through peel without digging deeply into the potato itself leaving a nice smooth surface below. It worked equally well on carrots. The eye remover is a nice touch, allow you to effortlessly scoop out blemishes. Replaceable blades round out the package. Another great Good Grips product! |
