"Great product"
I used to buy bottled water day in day out. Now I just own a few 32 oz wide-mouthed bottles, and I fill it up with my Brita filter. It is perfect! It was the best purchase ever!

"Might as well drink toilet water"
I have a Kinetico water system. The filters on it need to be replaced again so I tried a Brita pitcher water filter to save me a hundred bucks on the kinetico filters and to see if it was even close in flavor.. Man I thought I was drinking gutter water!!! Unless you like the flavor of gutter water save your money.. Maybe the Kinetico system spoiled me but thats my opinion!! (p.s. Ive never tasted gutter water before but I needed something to compare the water to!)

"Chrome COLORED PLASTIC"
Ok, maybe I should've done some more research or something, but I remembered one of my friends having a REAL chrome (probably stainless steel) lid on a water pitcher. I thought it was this one. I don't think so. I bought this item because I thought the lid was actually real chrome...not chrome colored plastic. And pretty flimsy feeling plastic at that. Other than that, I guess its an OK pitcher. Nothing more special than my previous, cheaper, higher capacity Brita pitchers though.

"Cant get any better, really!!"
This is a great water pitcher! I honestly dont have any complaints. The size fits great in my fridge. I wish the filter would have lasted a lil longer because I am a single guy as opposed to a family drinking water all the time.
It also makes a good impression when u have visitors over at the house.

"Great tasting water"
I decided to give Brita Riviera Water Pitcher a try after reading the online reviews.
When I first bought the pitcher, I wasn't sure why the front cover kept falling off so I decided to return it back to the store but I picked up another one where the front and back part of the top cover fits well. After examining few of the same pitchers in store, I noticed many of them had a cover that didn't fit well for this particular model. I believe this is due to the curvy design of the top cover. Make sure you choose the one where the cover fits snugly. For the one that doesn't fit well, you will notice that there is a space between the cover and the clear plastic bottom part of the pitcher if you look at it from the side. Also from reading the review others have wrote, the timer indicator seems like it's just a monthly indicator and also useless when exposed to water. I decided to just wash the whole thing with soap and water anyways since I rather have a clean pitcher then a useless timer. To my surprise, the timer still works even after I washed the whole thing with soap and water. Lastly, I didn't expect much about the water taste since I'm already drinking filtered water and bought the pitcher so that I can keep it at my desk but I definitely noticed that the water tasted so much better then my regular filtered water. I'm drinking much more water because of this and I love it so much that I bought another one so that I can keep one at home and the other one in my office. This model was perfect size for me since it wasn't too big and it wasn't too small. In addition, I love the slick style too.

What our customer's say!

"Fits into the fridge", I have two Brita pitchers this one and older model that does not have filter indicator, is square shaped and has one piece lid as opposed to two. Both fit into the fridge nicely and filter tap water adequately to my taste. The only reason I like the old pitcher better is that the flap never gets stuck when you try to pour water out. With this pitcher it occasionally gets stuck and water spills all over the place. At first I though it was a matter of not cleaning the spout properly but it happens even after the pitcher has just been washed. The filter change indicator is nice little feature that reminds me to change the filters on both pitchers.

In case you are considering one of those in-fridge models I'd advice against it. I once had the unfortunate pleasure of cleaning one that had formed mold or bacteria or something inside and the corners and particularly the tap on the thing was very difficult to wash. Also as you are not supposed to pour hot water into it, I was rather skeptical if it was sanitary enough to use again. These pitchers I've washed successfully in the dishwasher even though I'm not sure if you are supposed to. I've put the reservoir and lids to the upper shelf and washed the pitchers themselves on the bottom with normal wash settings.

"Product In Excellent Condition! Costumer service cero!", Wrote to the a couple of emails and never got an answer. Had no idea the product was on its way when suddenly I received a package.

"looks slick and works well", The Brita Riviera Water Pitcher (chrome) looks nice, fits into the fridge nicely and holds enough water to fill 4+ very large glasses. The only critique is that there is no seal between the section that holds unfiltered water and the section that holds filtered water, so that when you pour while waiting for water to filter, the unfiltered water spills over into your filtered water.

"algae", another poster remarked about this as well, check the bottom of your pitcher, it maybe turning green with algae. We finally returned it in digust.

"Sure it's pretty. Can I drink "pretty"?",
Other reviewers have said the same but I will reiterate:

--Filter timer is a joke. It only counts time, not gallons filtered. I don't need this because we already own several calendars.

--Sectional lid must have been designed by the marketing department. They fit together awkwardly and fall off easily. If you try to pour a class of water with even a little still left in the upper chamber, the whole assembly falls apart as you are pouring.

--Lower compartment easily contaminated by unfiltered water.

--My unit grows ALGAE in it after about 10 days. You would think that I must leave it on a sunny window sill, but I don't. It lives on the kitchen counter and I live in the Pacific Northwest where it is cloudy 9 months out of the year. So, anyway, the unit has to go in the dishwasher once a week (hand washing doesn't cut it....algae grows right back). Previous Brita (we've had many) and PUR pitchers did not have this problem.

As a consumer I want to ask: What is so friggin hard about designing a decent water pitcher for cripes sake?!!!

Generally this pitcher demonstrates what is wrong with so many companies that make consumer products. They pay damn little attention to engineering a good product and put all their effort into giving it "purchase appeal" and marketing it.

Try something else.

"My favorite Brita item", I've used Brita since its inception and this is by far their best pitcher.
While others have the filter change indicator, this chrome color is so
modern and "today." Thanks for another great item, Brita!

"Don't bother", I bought this pitcher in March 2007, it's now July. After only 4 months the indicator on top is broken. I am going to write to the company and see if I can get it replaced with a different model.

"If I could give this product zero stars, I would.", Please do not waste your money on this particular Brita pitcher. The slimline "chrome" pitcher is the biggest piece of junk. I'm glad I got it on sale, so it's not as painful as spending $47.00 for the thing.

Pros:
1. Slim look, fits nicely in fridge for cold filtered water.

Cons:
1. Very poorly made, the top is VERY flimsy.
2. If the top is filled too full, it spills unfiltered water into the filtered water at the bottom of the pitcher.
3. If there is water in the top of the pitcher, it will get poured into your water glass along with the filtered water (my old pitcher would keep the unfiltered water from mixing with the filtered water by just holding the lid tightly to the top of the pitcher).
4. The glorified "timer" stopped working the first time I changed the filter. A couple of drops of water hit it while I was cleaning the rest of the pitcher, and caused it to stop working.
5. My husband tipped the pitcher over, and the plastic hinge above the handle broke right off. Now the top won't work properly.

I have only had this product since the end of March (it's now the first of July), and have been VERY unhappy with the product quality. I will be going back to the "old" style of pitcher soon, as this one is not going to last much longer. What a piece of junk!!!

"Don't buy this pitcher!", I bought this item in March 2007 Brita Chrome Pitcher. I liked the look of the chrome and the slim design of the pitcher. Last week, I took the sensor off and placed it on my counter top so that I could wash the pitcher. I splashed a few drops (yes, drops) of water onto the "sensor" (really only a glorified timer) and now the sensor no longer functions. Pretty useless for a sensor that is designed for use on the top of a water pitcher. It was too wimpy to stand up to a couple of drops of water. So, in my opinion, do not spend the extra money for the "timer." There is nothing Smart about this "Smart" pitcher.

"Brita Pitcher Cascade Model", I really like this filter pitcher. It's an economical alternative to on-the-faucet continuous filtration systems. My city's highly chlorinated, hard, somewhat fishy tasting water from the Mississippi comes out of the pitcher odor free and tasting better than any bottled water I've bought. Just don't drop anything when cleaning. The top is fragile and I suppose the pitcher body also. I highly recommend this product.
