"Disappointed", I ordered this for my brother and sister-in-law for Christmas. It arrived early because I wanted it there before the holiday rush. Good thing I did. It was what they told me they wanted... but it was not what we expected. It scorched the rice in the bottom if left on too long. My sister-in-law is Chinese and they always have a pot of rice hot in their kitchen. Not with this pot! They returned and we're still looking for the right rice pot.

"High Quality Cooker", The Krups Rice cooker is a VERY large rice cooker that performs all of it's duties very well. The automatic sensing function is great for tossing rice in before class and coming home to perfectly cooked rice.

Overall, a great cooker for the money. Highly recommended.

"Great Rice Cooker ", I bought this as a Christmas present for my son who lives with me and wants to cook Thai food. It cooks rice perfectly. The only suggestion I have is if you slow cook it and it's done you shouldn't leave it too long in the pot or it will turn brown.

"Great multi-functional item", My husband ordered this as a Christmas gift apon my request. I love it. I have used it several times to cook whole grain brown rice. I have used the crock-pot feature to cook a large roast and veggies. I have used the steam option almost daily to steam veggies for lunch or reheat left overs instead of using a microwave. Used to reheat left overs allows them to stay fresh and not get dried out or over heated in spots. I have used the rice feature to cook whole grain oatmeal for breakfast. I am still learning to cook with it, but so far no complaints. The only thing I can complain about is my fault, I will set the machine to it's function, then forget to push the start button because my old machine didnt have a start button. Maybe a warning beep to let you know you still need to push the start button to actually turn the thing on would be a good feature for us dummies with three kids, LOL. I do agree with some of the other reviews that the handle and button feels a little on the cheap side and I do wish it were a bit stouter, therefore I give the 4 stars. But the actual function in all modes works great and it is super easy to clean up.

"One of the best Rice Cookers that I have owned.", Not only does it do a fantastic job on rice, but it is a great slow cooker too. It also looks fabulous on the counter with its stainless finish.

"Cook's Delight", What a fantastic cooker/steamer. This device is perfect for our RV and travels the miles with us willingly. We use it as a slow cooker most of the time but when we need a vegetable steamer or rice cooker it's right there ready to help. This is a great device to replace several other devices. We love it!!!!

"Rice cooker/slow cooker/steamer in one unit", I'm eating a lot healthier with the Krups FDH212. Just right rice cooking: It's amazing how the unit knows exactly when to stop and shift into "keep warm" mode for perfectly cooked rice. You can mix a combination of other foods with the rice and get the same good results. For steaming, you're in command: just set the minute-timer. When it stops, the unit shifts into "keep warm" mode. It works the same for slow cooking: Just set the timer and forget it. You can return to a meal that's warm and not overcooked. Clean-up is easy and fast because of the stainless steel exterior and removeable nonstick inside container. I'm delighted with my purchase. All that's missing is a good steamed-food cook book. I got that from Amazon, too.

"Died an early death.", Worked adequately while it functioned, and the design is nice, but it stopped working after 18 months of limited use (once per week). I expected more from a Krups product, especially given the price.

"Excellent", It does exactely what it says (on the box) it will do. Rice is always perfect... and on time. There is one thing though: It is so automatic that it will not let you manually set the cooking time (when cooking rice). You choose the TYPE of rice you are putting in and it will choose the time to cook itself and it will start cooking. It weights the amount of rice by itselft and acording to that it will automatically set the cooking time. You must get back to it a few minutes before the time is up to stir the rice or it might stick to the botton (some of it). It doesn't have an alarm to let you know that it's done. When is done it automatically goes into the keep "warm" stage. Aside from this lack of an alarm and to manually override the cooking time (it wouldn't be automatic in that case - I guess) it is perfect. The steamear function is even better, this one lets you set cooking time, ect., and the results are always outstanding... I would buy it again.

"Big Disappointment", We have owned a few quality rice cookers and figured that a rice cooker from Krups would be of good due to their reputation. While most quality rice cookers will keep the rice warm and evenly cooked for a couple of days, this item does not cook the rice evenly as some rice will be burnt and some mushy. The two times we did have evenly cooked rice, the quality had slipped within 10 hours.
