"What a time saver and great rice cooker is this? Read on..." I bought the Rival RCS200 20-cup for my wife and I to use for a rather unusual main purpose. Ever since the Melamine "gift" from China in the Gluten used in mainly dog and cat foods boondoggle, we had decided to cook our own to feed our family of 3 Boston Terriers. We cook chicken thighs (bulk pack) and add rice along with vitamins, minerals and other vegetables to feed them and they LOVE IT! The rice cooker does a great job preparing 20 cups at a time (we cook once a week for our guys) and have only had one (1) incident of 'brown bottom' and we have figured out how to solve it! Pay close attention to the cooker as it ends its cooking cycle and as soon as the cooker turns itself off, immediately unplug it! This seems to prevent any additional heat being put into the pot, resulting in almost totally no 'brown bottom' at all. Also, if you use brown rice instead of white, you will have much more nutritious rice and the brown rice doesn't have any 'brown bottom' that we have been able to detect so far. Pay attention to the instruction manual and follow the measuring directions closely and you will have one of the most satisfying rice cooking experiences you may ever have-except from eating the rice at a Chinese restaurant! No muss, no fuss, no cleaning pot and lid...WooHoo! Seriously, the Rival is a wonderful product so far and we could not be more satisfied with how it performs! Enjoy!!! "RICE COOKER " looks nice ... works well ... so far so good ... luv it !!! "Best cooker" This cooker is wonderful, the gentleman it was given to can't say enough about it, He stated it works great and he has used it over and over again. And the price for myself was incredible, thank you "BROWN RICE BLEW THERMAL FUSE" HAD MACHINE FOR 1 1/2 YEARS. TRIED BROWN RICE FOR THE FIRST TIME AND IT BLEW THE THERMAL FUSE INSIDE. HAD PLENTY OF WATER, IT JUST NEVER SWITCHED OVER TO THE WARMING FUNCTION WHEN IT WAS DONE. REPLACED THE FUSE WITH THE SAME RESULTS. POSSIBLE THAT THE SWITCH OVER CIRCUITRY WENT SOUTH. WOULDN'T BUY THIS MODEL AGAIN. THE RICE COOKER WE HAD BEFORE THIS ONE LASTED ALMOST 20 YEARS. "Worst rice cooker" Its life is only 2 weeks, one of the worst rice cooker.

What our customer's say! "Rice Cooker", This rice cooker is a very good product for a very reasonable price. We love the rice it cooks. "Doesn't cook rice well", Bought this to replace an old Panasonic, which had worked like a charm for 18 years (and went off to continue working well at my son's first apartment) - but this one didn't work well right from the start. It leaves rice undercooked, hard and too dry. Even if I add another cup of water, it still doesn't come out softer. The warming mode burns the rice on the bottom of the pot. "not even the same item shown", My cooker arrived yesterday and just in time for our "Feed the Homeless" day in the park. Last night I experimented with it and it was a total failure. But I gave it another try this morning. The controls shown in the ad are not the ones on the cooker. Theres on,warm and unplugged. The rice boils at such a high temp that my walls and floor and anything near was splattered with the white milk-like residue. It never switched to warm as promised. I just ran into the room and unplugged it. This device seems good for boiling potatoes or corn or beans, but that temp is set way too high for rice. I was also disappointed that no recipes came with it but the manufacturer probably knew it would not cook rice so why waste their time sending out rice recipes? I can make bad rice in a cheap pot bought at a thrift store so I do not know what to do with this contraption. "great for rice, and even does hardboiled eggs!", We've owned the Rival rice cooker for about a year now, and it cooks rice perfectly, and it's easy to use, and fast. We also figured out how to cook hardboiled eggs with it. It can do about a dozen eggs at a time, and does them to perfection. No complaints whatsoever with this unit. "THE BEST RICE COOKER EVER", We use this cooker everyday and it looks great and it cooks great. We love it. Thank you. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Cooker just died!", At first the cooker was great and I was excited with it. Then one day, just before one year of use, it just died. No power, nothing. Useless equipment! "Don't Waste Your Time", We got this rice cooker as a Christmas gift. We've tried cooking rice in it three times, and all three times the rice has burned. It simply gets too hot. Like some of the other reviewers, we added more and more water, but it didn't help. The cooker finally does kick into "warm" mode, but by then it's too late. We were thrilled when we realized it was non-stick, but what good is non-stick when the rice is scorched beyond edible? "Burns rice", I purchased this to replace my old rice/veggie steamer and I am so disappointed. It has burned the rice all four times I have used it. I keep increasing the water but to know avail. The only thing that works is cooking the rice. I guess if I want to continue to use it I will have to stand near by to check it occasionally. So much for automatically knowing when the rice is done and the handy "keep warm" setting. I may return this to the store yet. I really don't like it. "waste the money", i bought this rice cooker last year it worked only for few months.the nonstick coating was gone within 4 to five months only.again i took out my old panasonic rice coker to use b'coz that does not stick the rice as this one don't waste your money buying this. "Excellent!!", very good rice cooker. The steam function is very useful for such a lazy student like me. I can cook the rice and steam my food at the same time. I used it for almost a month but still working functionally. Highly recommended if you dun wanna pay too much for a useful rice cooker. |
