"Coleman Camp Coffeemaker"
This is a must for coffee drinkers who camp, have a rustic hunting camp etc. It does what they say and more. It really makes a great cup of coffee.

"The only way to start a camping day"
I was skeptical about this product. The idea of having drip coffee on camping mornings was just too good to be true! Three weeks and forty brews convinced me that I made the right decision! On my 10000 BTU Propane camp stove, coffee was ready in fifteen minutes and tasted like coffee I make at home. I have been delighted and can't wait for my next opportunity to fire it up. I just grind a few pounds of premium coffee and head out knowing that among the many delights of camping, I will have a great cup of coffee whenever I want it.
My only wish is for a perfect carrying case.

"I'd stick with the perculator"
I received this as a gift two years ago. It does make good coffee and eliminates the coffee grounds but, hey, isn't that part of the fun of camping? HOWEVER, a MAJOR flaw and FIRE HAZARD is that if the handle is turned just a little bit to the left or right - not at a 90 degee angle, the handle melts and renders the carafe unusable. With many people picking up the pot someone always forgets to put the pot back with the handle pointing in the right direction. Had this happen last year and was not able to find a replacement pot from Coleman. Found another one that sort of works. ALSO, it brews very slow. And, the basket does not close correctly, like another reviewer noted.

"The best coffee maker for those who love coffee outdoors"
This Coleman drip coffeemaker is the ultimate indulgence for those who love to make coffee outdoors. Why sacrifice the quality of your coffee on a camping trip? If you love camping and you love coffee, get this maker...forget any other method (unless, of course, you absolutely don't have the room such as when backpacking).

This appliance looks to be made by Mr Coffee for Coleman because Mr Coffee carafes do fit. The machine uses round basket paper filters, and it's somewhat slower than a home unit, but it will make up to ten cups. One caution here: be sure to keep the handle on the carafe pointing straight out the front when brewing; if it's hanging out toward the side, the handle will get hot and it could melt if your burner is turned way up.

I've also used this coffeemaker on a gas range during a power outage and it worked just fine.

Love coffee...love life in the great outdoors...Coleman helps you get there. Enjoy!

"Disappointed in the Coleman name."
I sent for the Coleman Camp Coffeemaker with the steel base with great expectations only to be disappointed twice. I received the first one and the grounds basket would not stay closed. It would easily pop open on its own during the brew process. I sent it back for an exchange and Amazon responded quickly with out question. Only to find the second one had exactly the same problem with the basket not staying closed. So I am sending the second one back also for a refund this time. This could be an extreme safety hazard when using a propane stove not to mention the burn possibilities.

What our customer's say!

"Heaven sent for group camping", Does what it's designed to do. It makes great coffee at your campsite.
It brews fast (ten minutes) on a Coleman stove that's protected by a windscreen.
However, my pot once took 45 minutes to finish on a mismatched burner/grill setup.
One windy morning, brewing didn't even start until I improvised extensive wind protection.
Once you get the setup right, you'll be delighted with the results.
As other reviews note, you must keep the pot handle centered.
I pour the brew into a pump Thermos dispenser so others don't touch the carafe.
"Roughing it" once meant enduring percolated coffee.
Thank you Coleman for your gift to outdoor Java Joes.

"Just like home", Having a coffee maker at home, there is nothing better waking up to a hot cup of coffee while enjoying the great outdoors. In the past we have used a perculator, but the coffee that produces is highly inconsistent. Once we found this Coleman coffee maker, I was hooked! It takes about the same amount of time that my Mr. Coffee does at home - producing the same amount of coffee in the same amount of time! The first time I used this, I thought it would take longer than home and I was OK with that. I was totally surprised to find this took about the same amount of time my eletric coffee maker takes at home. Living in Idaho, we travel to many high altitude locations (8000-9000+ elevation) and never have experienced any problems using this coffee maker.

I would recommend using a good propane stove (Coleman) and a beautiful setting outdoors. I would get this one again without thinking for friends who also enjoy the great outdoors.

"Good coffee if you have the time", Just tried it out for the first time at about 8900 feet. Very good coffee but took almost 45 minutes for a pot to brew. That is just way too long for fishermen who want a quick cup before trolling for the big one. Also, the coffee, even right after the brew cycle , is less than hot. Let it sit there for a few minutes and it is less than luke warm. Now you have to go through the added hassle of transferring to another pot and re-heating. Jury is still out on this product.

"Best item I have ever bought for camping!", I love, love, love my coffeemaker...I pondered this purchase for a year and after I bought it, I can't go without. The pot went through a terrible wind storm, even being pushed off the table but it didn't break! It took about 15-20 mins for a pot to brew, I just went about making breakfast, no biggy. Everyone loved it and it was the hit of the camp. Because you can't leave the burner on under the pot after it finishes brewing, I bought a vacume pump thermos to keep the coffee warm and that does the trick just fine, also that helps keep the handle from getting damaged if someone doesn't put the pot back just right while it's still hot. And if the glass carafe breaks you can get a replacement easily because colemen is owned by Mr.Coffee? (or one of those coffee companies) I did have just one small problemo...a little knob had broken off the filter basket, but it still stayed in place while the coffee brewed for the entire trip, I didn't even have to use any duck tape LOL, when I got back I contacted Coleman and they instantly replaced the part free of charge without any hassle. Coleman is a good buy everytime.

"Coleman Coffeemaker", I have only used the coffeemaker twice but both times it took forever to brew. The coffee was good but I'm not patient enough in the morning to wait for 45 minutes for my coffee.

"Impressive! Great coffee!", All I can say is WOW. This things works awesome! The coffee is fantastic; tastes even better than my electric Bunn coffeemaker because the coffee brews slowly. The coffee maker works perfectly on my camping stove, and the valve is extra-nice; I can get a cup of coffee while it's still brewing. WAY better than spitting out coffee grounds and/or bad tasting coffee. Easy to use and clean-up. I highly recommend this product.

"the best !!", this is by far the best coffee maker for camping!! it is simple, easy and no grounds. you can make pot after pot. i am buying two just for fear it will break and i will be with out.

"Easy to use", Just as good as a electric coffee maker. I use a small bunji cord that goes around the pot and unit during transit

"Delicious coffee in the outdoors", I really love my Coleman coffee maker. After cold, sleepless nights, sliding down my sleeping bag, it's wonderful to wake up to a good cup of coffee. Say good-bye to weak coffee with grinds floating around from those inadequate percolators. We camp with 3 other families and the adults are all hanging around my coffee maker for their morning cup o' Joe. For those of you who love coffee and only sort of like camping, this is a must have.
