Others say...

"Perfect!"
Great French bread!I don't like the "loaf shape" very much. Sometimes I shape the breads myself. Anyway, wonderful!

"ABSOLUTELY the Ultimate Bread Machine"
This bread machine is the best...have had a bread machine before and wore it out, but it never was as good as this is.
I received the machine 48 hours ago and my husband and I have made 2 batches of pizza dough, 1 white 2 lb loaf (good), 1 cinnamon raisin 2lb loaf(MMMMMmmm), 1 two cheese 2 lb loaf (great)and now we are discussing the next one to try.
The recipes included with the Breadman so far have worked perfectly, and we really expect that our other recipes will work just as well. I would DEFINITELY recommend this machine.
Happy Baking!!

"Love this Breadmaker!"
I'd had a cheaper, simpler breadmaker for a few years, and it finally died, so my husband ordered this one from Amazon for me. I love it! My first loaf was wonderful, though the browning was a little uneven. Later batches have been much better. I read some of the problems noted here, but haven't had such experiences. I do use the French bread feature, even though the shape is odd, but I also sometimes just make dough, and bake myself. This allows me to make braided or round loaves, for example. I've also made pizza dough. I've only rarely had the paddle stay stuck in the loaf -- a really annoying problem with my old breadmaker. Also, the pan really is NON stick. My old breadmaker's finish was supposed to be, but things really stuck to it! I'd recommend this breadmaker, and will probably buy one for my best friend also!

"E-Z 2 USE!"
This machine is unbelieveable! I've never baked a thing in my life! There are step-by-step directions in the users manual that made it very easy to start as soon as UPS pulled away. The dough paddle got loose after the first loaf. I did call the company and am still waiting for the new one they promised me but I can still use it so it's no big deal. I've had it for a month and have made 10 different loaves in it! (A loaf makes a great gift to a neighbor.) The bread tastes much better than what you can buy from the bakery. You get what you pay for.

"Discontinued Already?"
I just bought this breadmaker 2 days ago and now Amazon states that it is discontinued? Well, at least many of the retail stores continue to stock it. I've used the Breadmaker once. The 24hr timer is quite useful, but I don't like the shape of the bread that the machine produces. The loaves are too short and too high. Also, the paddle creates a "pit" in the bread that tears when the bread is sliced. The french bread feature is a joke - - who wants a loaf of french bread shaped like a regular loaf? I'll continue to play with the machine, but will probably only use it to mix and proof the dough. I'll shape it and bake it myself!

What our customer's say!

"Excellent Bread Maker", I'm very impressed with this machine. It allows you to be very creative with your baking. You can pause the machine during the last rise to make a decorative crust, braid it, roll it (mediterranean-style), add crumbled toppings etc. etc. It can also make pizza dough, focaccia dough, bagel dough, soft pretzel dough, batter breads, cakes, and jams. You have the choice of using the machine to mix and knead only (bake in your own oven). It also has a 'bake only' option if you come to the end of a cycle and realize it still needs to bake a little longer. It does not heat up the whole house the way the oven does! It allows you to program in a few of your own customized recipes. It also has a fruit/nut dispenser which adds in these extras at the appropriate time. The pan is a regular horizontal shape, so the bread comes out looking like a traditional loaf. One caution: Bread machines are not quite as "dump everything in and forget about it" as say a crock pot. You may have to scrape the corners of the pan with a spatula on the first kneading cycle to make sure that all of the flour is incorporated. And it's a good idea to take the loaf out of the pan in order to remove the kneading paddle at the beginning of the last rise. Some people say their bread machine jumps around quite a bit during kneading...which seems like reason enough not to leave it completely unattended.

"Not bad", If it didn't leave a big hole in the bottom of the loaf it would be wonderful. So I usually just make the dough (thats the part I hate to do anyway) and put the bread in a loaf pan and cook it in the oven.
The whole family loves the bread it makes, I can't make enough to satisfy them it seems. If I had time I'd make it daily.
I liked it enough to buy the same bread maker for my mother as a birthday gift. Very easy to clean and no leaks so far.

"Many lovely loaves of tasty bread", I love my Breadman Ultimate! I got mine about three months ago, and have made at least two loaves a week since. The instructions are easy to follow, the resulting loaves of bread are beautiful and delicious, and clean-up is a real snap. Although the manual and other sources have mentioned that the paddle can get stuck in the loaf, that has happened only once to me, and that was one of the three times that I set up the machine to delay bake overnight. (My mother's older Breadman, on the other hand, always bakes the paddle into the bread--I took a look at hers, and they've changed the shape & the fit of the paddle somewhat since.) I've made tasty white, whole wheat, yoghurt, oatmeal, flaxseed, multigrain, cinnamon-raisin, and soy milk breads. I haven't tried doing coffee cake or quick breads in it, yet, nor have I tried making jam in it. I was sceptical of the "French bread" setting, but aside from the shape, the machine produced a tasty, crusty and quite adequate French bread (I used the Breadman French bread recipe that does not call for oil). In addition to the delay timer, I have tried out the programmable settings, and while they are easy to use, the preprogrammed cycles are perfectly sufficient for just about everything I'd do with the machine. One of the other reviewers stated that his breadpan & its replacements leak after just months of use, and I wonder if that is because he soaks it (a no-no) or puts it in the dishwasher (another no-no), since I haven't experienced that problem. My mother's machine, the predecessor of the Ultimate, hasn't had a leak in 4 yrs of 2 or 3x weekly use, and mine hasn't a sign of a leak, either. I haven't bought a loaf of bread since getting the Ultimate, and in addition to the freshness, taste, and nutrition of homemade bread (and knowing the ingredients!), I'm sure it's saving me money. I used to make bread by hand several years ago--for about 3 or 4 years--but I've become too busy to do it on a regular basis any more; I love my Breadman Ultimate! (The "silver" stainless steel looks good on my counter, too, and I prefer the look-and-feel of the metal to the plastic.) I'd definitely recommend the Breadman Ultimate--in silver or not--to anyone looking for a good, reliable bread machine.

"TR2200WWC Ultimate Breadman is the Ultimate!!!", I recently purchased the Breadman TR2200WWC Ultimate Bread Machine after having owned a more basic Breadman for years. We loved our first Breadman, but we wore it out! I decided to try the Ultimate because it offers more features (crust type, bread type, loaf size, extra ingredients, etc.) I bought a box of San Francisco sourdough bread mix and tried baking it in my new Ultimate Breadman. It was AWESOME! The bread looks and tastes like it came out of a good sourdough bakery! I then tried a whole wheat recipe that comes with the machine. Again, AWESOME results! The machine is extremely easy to use. Just make your selection of type of bread (french, whole wheat, white, dough, pizza), type of crust (light, medium, dark) and size of loaf (1, 1-1/2 or 2 pounds), and that's it - the machine does the rest. Average cooking time is 3.5 hours. You won't be disappointed with this machine! Only possible negative is it is pretty big on the kitchen counter.

"WARNING- Does not include the 59 minute rapid bake!", It's not amazon.com's fault, it is advertised on the box. But it doesn't have the 59 minute rapid bake feature! The rapid bakes available will take at least two hours.

"salton warranty problematic at best", After owning a breadman for several years, and worked fairly well, it has broken down. Most good companies I expect to have a good warranty, no questions asked, etc. However, the warranty is only one year. Basically, this says to me that this unit is only good in the short-term and then has problems. If you are confident in your work, then back it up with a good warranty. I was told I could return mine and get a refurbished one with only a 90day warranty for 40 dollars. NO thanks, Mr. Breadman

"International experienced bread maker and consumer", The first loaf out of the B'man Ultimate was an amazing success! We found the Breadman very easy to learn and to use. We had never used a breqad machine before and were naturally sceptical at first. That first loaf won us over and we have been happy users since. The Ultimate has many features, but to be a successful breadmaker you do not have to use the programmable and manual features. That can come later as you choose, or not at all.

We found it easy to clean and removal of the beater/paddle from the finished loaf is easy and leaves the loaf intact and presentable. While the pan is deeper than most regular baking pans, it makes a good-looking loaf and people are surprised when they hear it was made in a bread machine.

The instructions are very easy to use and understand. It would be a nice touch if the recipes enclosed with the Ultimate had included adjustments for high altitude baking (as we live above 6000').

"Nothings Perfect, but..........", If you are one of those people who just hates following directions and getting perfect results then this machine is not for you. We do use mostly Breadman Mixes but the others we've used worked just fine. This year all our children asked for one so there be three more going out. That's the true endorsement, would you buy it for someone you love, our answer, ABSOLUTELY

"BreadPan Leaks after some months and is not under warranty", This breadmachine has a good interface, good motor and good overal features, with one big problem. I've baked more than one hundred breads with it, probably hundreds.

The real problem is that the pan, in which you pour the ingredients and bake the bread, develops small cracks around the rivets that attach the kneeder to the pan.

That pan is very thin and after a couple of months small cracks appear, they get bigger and bigger and soon the water starts leaking through it. I can fix it for a while by pooring honey over those cracks, but then they get so big that I have to buy a new pan.

A pan is almost forty ($40) every time, I'm on my third and need a new one again. I decided to look for another machine and thinking that a system with two kneeding paddles may be better because that would generate less stress around a single paddle. I have not decided on where to go yet.

Every time I call them for another replacement pan and complain about the fact that they break, the reps just reply that this is wear-out item and is not covered by warranty, not a nice company to deal with.

The other problem with this machine is: It is very sensitive to the outside temperature, I wished they used a more refined thermostat, especially for the bread raising phases. The net result is that on a colder day the bread raises far less than on a warmer day.
