Others say...

"Strong, dependable, great value."
I bought an Acme Juicerator in 1978, use it several times a week and it is still going strong! It works great, it's easy to use, and to clean. I highly recommend it. The strong motor and stainless steel disc blades powers through whatever I put in it, and the fresh juice is fabulous.

What our customer's say!

"Reliable old workhorse", We have owned our Acme since approximately 1978, give or take a year or two. I can't compare it to anything else because we haven't used another machine since purchasing it. Moderately noisy and a hassle to clean, but it is an incredibly reliable workhorse that just keeps on going. Built like a tank. With the same design as the one shown here, our old model has all stainless removable parts over the white enamel motor housing. While the fact that it does not automatically eject pulp is a minus on the one hand, on the other hand, the Acme extracts up to 20% more juice according to independent reviews.

"solid build, not hassle free", i've had my acme 5001 for years. i agree it is well-built and sturdy. my main complaint is the filter sheets. you have to use these filter sheets (which are bleached) on it. once they start getting covered with pulp, you get less juice out of the machine. so, if you are doing a lot of juicing at once, you'll have to change filters, or, it will be like a King of Queens comedy episode were Doug goes through a bag of fruit for a couple drops of juice. (i have been told you can juice without the sheets.) cleaning it is a hassle too. i do own the citris attachment. it works great, though big and bulky. also very hard to clean. i would look into better designed juicers as there are plenty to choose from.

"Bought mine in 1977", That would be 30 years of serious juicing, and it's still going strong. It powers through about anything you stuff in it, and it's heavy and stays where you put it. Yes, it's a bit noisy-- it sounds something like a miniature tree chipper (fine as long as it works like one) but it's not as loud as our KitchenAid stand mixer. It makes great juice.

Does a great job with the citrus too. I have never regretted my purchase.

"Great tasting juice", I love fresh juice. It is so good. This machine has no trouble juicing hard fruits and vegetables. It does get off balance when trying to juice softer fruits and vegetables. I wish it was easier to clean. I tried the juice filters, and they cause the juicer to become off balance a lot easier. But I have to say, fresh juice is so much better than you buy in the grocery store. And I love the fact I can control my ingredients. I would highly recommend juicing.

"Acme set the standard for juicers", Acme was the standard for juicers when we purchased ours 15 years ago. It still does everything -- soft, hard, and green leafy vegetables, fruits, and root vegetables. The pulp from carrot and celery make the base for a great "un-chicken" salad.
The citrus attachment is a worthwhile accesssory for orange and grapefruit juices. It is rock-solid and has never needed any part repaired or replaced.

On the down side, it is heavy, bulky, a bit noisy. The newer juicers appear more ergonomic and boast more features, but I'm not sure if they can lay claim to the durablility of the Acme.
