"great assest" i had never heard of a bacon weight, yet my husband had suggested he had wanted one...to my surprise i have fell in love with it...it is not only used for bacon, yet we use for paninis, grilled cheeses, quesidellas, so many kid sandwhiches, etc. being round it matches well with our cast iron griddle...we liked it so much, i bought another for my fater who is highly enjoying it.... "Bacon press" Well made, could be a tad bit heaver. Keep it oiled, it does rust easy. would buy again. "just what we have been looking for" We hav been looking for a product like this for some time now and I hit it lucky and found the company that sells them . It was a pleasure doing business with them. The where prompt in there delivery of the item and it was just what we had expected. "Just what I wanted" I shopped for this product in quite a few stores and could never find one, so I was happy just to find it. It is great. It fits perfectly in my larger pans. I've used it for frying bacon and pork chops in the pan and will use when grilling. Follow the instructions for maintenance and it will stay as new looking as the day it was taken out of the box. "Ditto ... great press!" W. Hooper's review is right on! Bacon cooks faster, flatter, and with much less spatter. This truly is the perfect size for a 12 inch pan ... wouldn't want a different size/shape! Clean up is a sanp. Proper care (seasoning before first use, and oiling) is required, but it's easy enough to do. Also great for grilled cheese/panini sandwiches.

What our customer's say! "My search is over", I love this. I have wanted a new one to replace a hand me down. And, low and behold amazon had it for me. I think it's the perfect weight to hold the bacon down, without squishing it. Bacon fries up flat and it's easy to turn over. The size is good. I like the round better than the rectangular ones. Hard to find a retangular pan... :) Follow the directions on the box for seasoning cast iron. I wash mine in the sink and put it right back on the heat to make sure it's dried and re oil it. You will get years of service out of any cast iron item, if you maintain it. "Kitchenware review", A much larger bacon press that will work perfectly in a larger pan with a larger amount of bacon! "Bacon press", Love it. A bit irritating to clean (isn't that pretty much always the case with bacon grease?) but it really does the job and is attractive enough that my wife doesn't object to having it sitting on the counter near the stove. "Bacon / meat press", A great well made product, as others have said it would be much better if it were heavier. But overall it does a great job... "Good Cook Tool", I enjoy using it. It browns the top of what you're cooking as well as the bottom, at the same time. No need to turn over. It's also light enough for me (my choice), others might want a heavier press. The wooden handle doesn't get hot, unlike the more heavier models with metal handles. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Does the job", Well made. Useful size and weight, although it could be just a little larger in diameter. This thing gets really hot and holds that heat for awhile, as you would expect with cast iron. However, it would have been nice if designers had provided some insulating material around the top of the metal supports for the wood handle. Really need a glove when using this to avoid coming in contact with the very hot metal handle supports. "Great utensil", Perfect size and weight for a 12" skillet. Keeps the bacon, chops flat for even frying while preventing any splatters. High quality materials. You won't cook bacon again without this indespensible utensil. Easy 5 stars for this great product. |
