Others say...
"Its a scam" The main thing I dont like about this coffee maker is that it only fits Melitta pods. It doesnt fit any other size pods, like Folgers, Maxwell house. The other ones taste better but if you want to use them you have to squish them down in the pod holder and then the coffee maker leaks. At least the other makers use different brand pods. It also doesnt make enough coffee so i usually have to press the 5oz and 8oz to get a good cup. "You can get a great cup of coffee" Loved it for the convienence. No mess, simple to use. There has been complaints about leaks but I haven't had a problem. Make sure you push the pod into the basket so no paper is sitting on the edge. I have to say Melitta's coffe pods themselves are not as good as you could have. Get some higher quality coffee pods from another retailer. You will definitely notice the difference, a super prduct. I have bought both the columbian and the costa rican pods (more mild). I can't drink coffee any other way. "One of the best cups of coffee I've tasted!" This makes fabulous coffee, better than my regular drip maker. I bought one for my office so us coffee drinkers could get a GOOD cup without having to go out to buy one. Everyone gets the coffee of their choice and we always have a fresh cup of coffee in about a minute, whenever we want. No mess, either. We LOVE it! "Functions well, terrible coffee" I tried this machine and followed the instructions for priming it. I didn't have any problems with leakage and I got an eight ounce cup of coffee by punching the four ounce button a second time. The machine functioned well, coffee was ready in under a minute and it was the right temperature for my taste. However, the coffee tasted terrible; it had a metal taste. I tried several brands of pods, and they all tasted like metal. All the pods worked well and I even used regular coffee grounds in a regular filter which I folded to fit in the pod holder. I didn't get a good cup of coffee in spite of all my efforts, so I took it back to the store and got my money back. "Great coffee" I bought the java pods before I bought the One:One brewer, thinking I could microwave a pod in a cup of water and get a quick cup of coffee (don't try it, eew!). I just bought the One:One coffee maker today and I am so pleased. The coffee is delicious, fresh, hot and brewed in less than one minute. Clean up is a breeze because the pods are self-contained. The best part is each person can drink their own personal favorite cup of coffee depending on which pod they use. Worth every penny.

Melitta MES1R OneOne Single Serve Coffeemaker, Red
Why I buy this one ? - One-cup POD coffee system; brews directly into your mug - Quick and convenient; 2.2 bar steam pump produces rich, full-bodied coffee - Freedom to choose different blends or flavors for each cup you brew - Makes one 8-ounce American style or one 5-ounce European style - 28-ounce removable water tank; makes three mug-size servings before refilling is needed It's better to buy this one too...
What our customer's say! "Quick Single-serving Coffee Maker", I bought this coffee maker because previously I was using a standard coffee maker to brew 1 or 2 cups of coffee for myself. That meant putting enough coffee grounds in a traditional coffee maker for at least 4 cups, drinking 2 cups and then dumping the remaining 2 cups down the drain. This coffee maker works as intended and it works quickly to brew a hot cup of coffee. Others have complained that the machine spews hot water out the sides where the coffee "pod" is placed. This will happen if you don't push the pod down into the holder--the rubber seal on the lid needs to contact the metal ring... if a coffee filter comes between the rubber and the metal ring, then hot water will spew out. The coffee pods for this particular machine tend to be difficult to find in stores. I was able to purchase other brands of pods and then just stuff them down into the coffee maker. This worked fine and provided additional varities of coffee. Stuffing them into the coffee maker can be a little tricky, but not difficult. If you only need 1 or 2 cups of coffee or if you need a cup in a hurry, this is the machine for you. One last note, large travel mugs will not fit under the spout... you will need to use a smaller mug and then transfer the coffee to the travel mug. "Over a year and still happy", I've had mine for over a year and use it about 5 times a week. The only problem I've had is finding the pods in stores. I have to order online but there are plenty of brands, flavors and options out there so far so I'm satisfied. I love the look of this machine, the ease of use and size. It sits on my desk at work and I get lots of compliments and the occasional guest who stops by to enjoy a cup. In my opinion, this is a quality product. "Nifty little coffee machine", I have friends that like high-test, those who only drink unleaded; the flavored coffee friends and the tea drinkers. This machine is PERFECT to easily meet all those needs. I have had no trouble finding pods (on the Internet) and just love the speed, convenience and ease of this machine! Good coffee too! "Does great tea, too.", First off I have to say I am not a coffee drinker. I don't like coffee, so why did i buy this little gizmo. I saw that it could make a cup of hot or cold tea and I am a HUGE tea drinker. I often switch between hot and ice tea during the day. I currently use a tea kettle in the morning and an ice tea maker to make ice tea. The idea of replacing both with one little appliance was very tempting. The machine makes an excellent cup of tea and does make a ice tea (with some cold water and a few ice cube). I also found that if you do not add a tea bag to the machine is will just spew out hot water for you. I have been using it for my oatmeal in the morning. It is possible to use regular teabags in the machine and actually it will take two regular tea bags. I did try making caffeine... um coffee in it and it made a drink that tasted like coffee(and that is best I can say about the coffee properties.) The only downsides I found are the reseviour could be a little bigger but then I work from home so I consume more beverages in my house than the usual person. I also found the Teapods were a little strong but since i can use store bought tea that doesn't really concern me. On the whole I would say it is the best coffee maker a tea drinker could ever have. "Like maker, seeking better pods", I like the convenience, but not crazy about melita's coffee, Am trying to find out if Gevalia pods fit this maker, Their customer support is clueless ![]() Read this reviews before You buy... "Love it all", After much research, I bought my One:One. I looked at every brand of single serve maker out there, Melitta had the best overall ratings. No one else came close. I bought it more for having tea than coffee, but the coffee isn't bad. I know a cup of BAD coffee when I taste it, and this isn't bad at all. Okay it's not from some gourmet coffeehouse on the corner, but it's better than most I've tasted throughout the years. This is easy to use, and even has an alternate iced tea spout! WooHoo!! Melitta and Amazon have made me a happy girl. I'm looking forward to many cups of coffee and tea. This machine comes highly recommended by me (she who doesn't usually like coffeemakers). "Luv Coffee Maker! Hate Melitta Coffee Pods!", Bought the machine after reading all the reviews... I have to agree it is a great machine. Very easy to use and quick! The melitta coffee is horrible... I tried very hard to like it but broke down and tried the Home Cafe Millstone pods... They are great... Maybe everyone has different taste in coffee... the melitta brand was entirely to bitter for my taste... I tried the Hazelnut one, the vanilla one, and Buzzworthy... I ended up throwing out the coffee at work. Now that I've tried the other companies pods the one:one is a keeper :-) My advice: try the samples that come with the machine and then decide if you like the melitta brands... If not.... rest assured the other companies pods will work... You will just have to squish them to fit :-) But they work :-) "Easy to use, not the best coffee", The machine is very easy to use and very convienent, however, the coffee is OK. I'm a coffee lover and really enjoy different beans. This machine you are limited to certain several types and it's not quite strong enough for my taste. I'll still use it week days when I'm dashing out the door and don't want to mess with my french press or drip machine. "A New Twist for an Old Pod", I bought the One:One coffeemaker for my studio. Before purchasing this model, I tried the Black & Decker pod coffeemaker and the design was cumbersome to say the least. You couldn't lift the pod holder out very well, and then you had to work to get it down in the pod chamber to lock it closed. The Melitta was a better design in this respect. Before making a cup of coffee in the One:One, I primed it 3 times and haven't noticed any puddling around the base or any leaking as other guests have experienced with their coffeemakers. I did try the Melitta coffees and they all tasted like vending machine coffee. (I have not tried any of the teas.)Since I am limited to pods in my area, I decided to try the Folger's pods and they will fit the pod holder if you squish them down into the pod holder. You can get a 5 oz. and 8oz. cup of coffee out of one pod. I am pretty pleased with the One:One pod maker and my friends will experience a fresher cup of coffee as they drop in to visit. "It's decent", This is NOT a GREAT coffee maker, but it's decent. I use it at the office about 3-4 times a week, and it does the job. I get 'fresh'ly brewed coffee that tastes good (IMO). The coffee is definitely not Peet's, but will do the job without having to leave the office. The big advantage of this machine is the cleanup factor. No messy grinds to deal with. I haven't tasted the "metallic" or "cardboard" flavours that otheres have complained about, but then maybe my taste isn't in-tune like some. ![]() |
