Others say...

"Breadmaking is actually easy."
I am still amazed at how long we dwelt in the desert of crappy bread. We are not baker types and don't have loads of time. A family member suggested we try one after we complained about the terrible bread in the supermarkets with lots of added sugar and little fiber. This is our first breadmaking device and we are definitely in love. So far not a bad loaf. We've had it a week and a half. We are waking up to perfectly made bread with lots of fiber and flavor and the crusts are far better than I had imagined they would be with a machine! The Breadman is easy to use. It's forgiving of mistakes and it makes pasta and pizza dough. Great entry level machine. I think going forward we would like a horizontal baker but we'll use this one till it gives out.

"makes a nice loaf"
The bread machine makes a nice loaf of bread. I have used the machine quite a niumber of times. The only problem I have, which I can live with, is that it is loud. I try not to make a bread when I have to be in the kitchen. Otherwise, the machine is great!

"Wonderful Machine"
This machine is wonderful, works like a charme. I make bread for my family (2 adults and 2 children) every two days and the bread is always perfect! Very recommended.

"deluxe breadmaker"
We have used the breadmaker and are very satisfied. I would recommend it to anyone. I like the idea of making a bigger loaf than 11/2 lbs. The McGees

"Bread Machine"
I have really enjoyed my bread machine. This has been my first attempt with baking bread at all. No problems so far.

What our customer's say!

"2 bread pans in less than 2 years", Purchased in Jan 2007, my second bread pan just failed, the gasket or rivets started leaking. I called and they said a replacement is not available...GRRR!!!!

I have greatly enjoyed this model, it was my first. Easy to use and consistent results. I make 2 - 2lb loaves a week of a whole wheat bread.

I going to limp along with it until I can save the money for the Zojirushi BBCC-X20.

"better than sunbeam model", I was lucky, I got this for $11 at a auto garage that had a bunch of refurbished items like this in the back, on sale around x-mas, 2006. It makes a much better crust and loaf than the Sunbeam model 5891, which I just bought from amazon. The sunbeam is ok, but I dont like the ridges in the pan, and the texture of the bread didnt seem as fluffy as the breadman. Overall, the breadman seems better, but the cheaper Sunbeam is a good value for just getting out some bread.

"Fantastic breadmaker", I have had this bread maker for at least 3 years now and it's still going strong. I don't use it everyday but when I do, it's mostly used for making dough.

I make my own cinnamon rolls and yeast rolls so the dough setting is excellent because it does all of my kneading for me. All I have to do is dump the dough out and roll it out for by cinnamon rolls (or form the dough for the yeast rolls). It's an excellent workhorse even when working with the heavy, thick doughs.

It's really durable too. I've learned that you might want to put a non skid pad or dish towel underneath it because the agitating action when it's kneading makes the machine move. Mine actually walked itself right off the countertop to my horror, but kept right on mixing. When I picked it up it was completely fine and has worked just fine ever since. (That was a year ago.)

I've known people who have purchased this and used it every single day to keep fresh bread in the house. The rate that I use it (roughly once a week) this machine should be just fine years and years from now.

"Very good machine, not too expensive", I bought this bread machine as a replacement for my 10-15 year old "Toastmaster Bread Box" machine which finally gave out. The new machine works well. All the loaves I've tried have turned out very well, and have tasted very good. The bread pan is a lot lighter weight than the Toastmaster pan, but I cannot tell if it makes any difference.

The "Super Rapid" setting is great! It actually bakes a good loaf in 59 minutes. To use this feature, the included recipes call for lots of Super QuickRise or RapidRise yeast (like 6 teaspoons). The super rapid white bread came out a little too chewy for my taste, but the raisin bread was great.

The machine comes with an instruction manual that contains 7 Super Rapid recipes, and 2 regular recipes. An extra recipe book contains about 20 additional bread and dough recipes.

"The baker in all of us", I have had this bread machine for about 2 weeks now and have used it at least 10 times. Before that, I never baked a loaf of bread in my life, so I have nothing to compare it to. But I have been very satisfied with the machine so far. Like others have said, if you like a light crust, you won't be able to acheive that by baking in the machine, but I like a chewy crust so it's not a problem. I have made several types of bread and also pizza dough and everything has come out nicely. Operation is very easy and so is cleanup. My machine is heavy and does not move on the countertop as others have experienced.

My only quibbles with the machine are that it does not reveal the steps in the cycles -- either on the display or in the manual. You just have to trust that it knows what it's doing. Also, I got the machine to save money on bread, but how can you save money when you're constantly making loafs and giving them away to friends and neighbors??? OK, maybe not the machine's fault. Overall I am happy with my purchase and recommend this machine.

"we love it !", we like to bake our bread , since we do not like the sugary taste of the store bought bread .
and what ever doesn't have sugar in it .. has a pricetag that makes you run for the doors .
we have been baking our bread for a while now and we never had any problem with it .

our bread always comes out perfect , and tasting like it should .
as a cheaper bread machine .. i would recomend it in a heartbeat .

the only think i would love to see improove ... is the kneeding .. it shakes the machine so hard , that it actually moves around on my counter .
we never leave it alone because of that

"is it true?", After having used the machine for a couple of times and noticed that indeed it makes perect loafs, I trusted it in the hands of my 17 year old (not smart?) who didn't put the paddle in right. So the machine had been shaking and rattling for some three hours by the time I came home and through the violent bumping of the stone hard dough inside the baking pan the coating had come off on some spots. Luckily I noticed the tiny strips of tefal hidden in the crust of a freshly made product. No big deal I thought I will buy a new baking pan. To my utter surprise it is no where to be found... I have bought an other breadmachine in stead but does anybody have a suggestion?

"Makes a great loaf of bread", This is the second time I've owned this breadmaker. The first one I left behind in a divorce, and I made sure that I replaced is as soon as I could. I love being able to start the bread before I leave for work and having a hot, wonderful smelling loaf when I get home

"My Very First Breadmaker!!", HH gave this to me for Christmas because he knew I've been wanting one for so long and I've baked 3 loaves so far (lots of ingredients to buy)! It takes about 3 hours to cook a fully developed loaf and almost 1 1/2 hours for rapid. Homemade bread is so delicious! You basically add the ingredients in order (yeast always last), press the settings, the breadman kneads and bakes, press stop, eject, and enjoy!

I barely have to clean the pan because it is nonstick! Love it love it love it!

I would suggest if you want to begin baking right away to look for bread machine recipes online so that you can have your ingredients ready once you purchase.

**Update**
I've had this since Christmas and it has been working fine. I'm still satisfied with it. Do note that my bread comes out better and more developed with Rapid Rise Yeast.

"makes beautiful spelt bread, too!", As a wheat-intolerant family, I've tried baking by hand with the alternative flours with dismal results. However, I got this yesterday, made one loaf of bread from a bread machine recipe in my wheat-free cookbook and it tasted rather good. I made another loaf this afternoon from the second recipe in that cookbook and it was fantastic. The texture, crumb, moisture, taste, everything was excellent, there was no "dry, sawdust" taste or texture to the bread like you usually get with spelt, and I'm one happy camper. The crust on "light" setting is crispy but not overly so. I think if you want soft crust, you'll have to bake in the oven. Or store the loaf with a slice of apple in something airtight to soften it, maybe. I don't mind a crispy crust myself, besides, the loaf is just large enough that you can cut the crust off and still have a good sized slice for sandwiches. (Save the crusts for the birdfeeder, or for bread pudding.)

Not sure what the reviewer below meant about loud noise during the mixing, my machine's mixing is rather quiet, doesn't bother me a bit. The control panel is easy to figure out, the bread pan is easy to clean, the whole unit is fairly light-weight, and don't discount how nifty the viewing window is. I LOVE being able to peek in and see what it's doing. Just don't touch it or put anything on it while cooking, it gets hot.

But if you need to bake with alternative flours, this breadmachine can handle it! With this model, if you're using wheat, kamut, or other alternative flours, mix all recipe ingredients in a bowl until just moist, then spoon into bread machine. Non-wheat flours are just too heavy to mix properly in the machine without a little help first. I found this to be a fairly simple undertaking and the results are definitely worth the extra 5-10 minutes prep time.
