Others say...

"Excellent!!"
I have used this many times since I bought it, cooking everything from pork shoulder for 15 hours to beef roast and ribs for 6-12 hours. My next venture will be a brisket. I recommend this for anyone that has interest in smoking foods.

"Hard to use"
I had high hopes for this product but have been disappointed. It is the user guide I am mostly disappointed about. It does not explain things easily and leaves you to your own devices. I would purchase a different product.

"Probe cables too short"
The unit is great and works perfectly. The only issue is that the probe cables are too short and therefore clumsy.

"Works as advertised"
Products works very well. A couple of annoying things:

(1) The power switch for the main unit is behind the battery compartment, which makes no sense and gets annoying, especially since the plastic screw that holds the battery door is very easy to lose.

(2) Be careful with the meat thermometer since you can burn it out fairly easily. This is probably true of most thermometers so I would not attribute this to the RediChek.

"Thermometer"
We do BBQ competions. Tried it out this weekend and it works great. I would buy anither and recommend it to anyone who loves to BBQ.

What our customer's say!

"Works Great, Range Could be Better", I've only used it once on an overnight smoke of a couple pork butts. It worked as advertised, no surprises. My only complaint is the range. It wouldn't read more than ~25' through one wall into my family room where I was trying to get some sleep on the couch. Still, much better than the old system of setting an alarm for every 2 hours to mop and check the fire through the night.

"Maverick RediChek Remote Wireless Smoker Thermometer ", The wiress remote failed to link when trying to use it the second time. I was able to use the remote sensor which connects to the smoker and meat fine.
I have to send it back to the company to get a replacement under their 90 day warranty.
I would use it again.

"Great product if it would last", This is the third time I've purchased this product, because it is so useful if you smoke food regularly. I have wood, charcoal, gas and electric smokers and now that I have calibrated the electric smoker using this product, I don't need it as much, but when I use any of the others, I can regulate the temperature much better and know how cooked the food is without opening the lid. The latter is important if I'm on a tight schedule and want to add a glaze.

The problem is that I have had to purchase three of them because they stop working after a year or two.

"BBQ Made Easy", The Redi-Check SMoker Thermometer is a must for every serious and backyard BBQ'er. It's simple to operate, very accurate and has improved my end results quite a bit. Temperature and timing a keys to good BBQ and this is the tool to do it.

"Poor design but works well.", I use this on weekends and have found it very reliable. The design of the on/off switch is terrible. You have to take it apart to find the switch to turn it on or off.
2 weeks after I started using it one switch broke right off. The switches are small and poorly designed. I remove the batteries now to shut it off.
Like I said before TERRIBLE design but very accurate.

"Great smoker accessory", Maverick RediChek Remote Wireless Smoker Thermometer Overall, this unit is good to have. You can relax in the house (or outside) and always know the temperature of the smoker or meat at the same time. Some of the drawbacks are: Receiver range is very limited (approx. 100ft.), you have to take off the clip and battery case to turn one of the units on (inconvenience), and probe wires are fairly short. But those are all minor and tolerable. I would recommend this product.

"Just What I needed", This product lived up to all my expectations. I bought the unit for use with my Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker (AKA WSM). My first use was a 14 hour Pork Butt Smoke. With very little time (2 min) reading the owners manual I was able to figure out how to use all features. I have a standard city lot (.3 Acres) and with the Smoker set up in the backyard (back of lot) I was able to receive all the way out to my mail box (in the front of lot). This however was with a couple dropped transmissions. The transmissions were very reliable inside my house through one outside wall, but had a few dropped transmissions when going through one outside wall and one inside wall. Even if dropping transmissions, the reciever always catches up. I've done 3 long cooks and am still on the original set of batteries. I would recommend this unit.

"Great Innovation", I have used my thermometer 3 times now and I feel much more confident knowing how the smoker is doing! AND it makes for much less stress knowing this. The thermometer allows me to make corrections before any damage is done to the food. Since I live on the third floor, it saves a lot of steps having the temp info at your finger tips.
AM totally pleased to have this gadget in my arsenal!

"Good concept but does not work", Tried it with a couple of pork butts this weekend. Was hoping not to go outside to check the temp of meat but be able to monitor temp from my living room. Sounded like a decent product and while the the transmitter would read the temp correctly, the receiver was intermittent at best. Only 25' to my Living Room. Any time I walked back to house it would lose the signal. Finally gave up.

Not sure what needs to be done to perfect this model. I like the idea, but the implementation is not there.

I'm thinking a 2 probe digital thermometer with a pair of binoculars will be good.

"accurate on temp frustrating to use", I use this thermometer quite frequently for both the BBQ and smoker, and as far as temp reading go it mine shows a 2-3 degree separation between the probes in my kitchen before it touches the meat or grill. Now that should not happen. I also miss the the meat temperature guide on the lower priced versions, this made it easier to see that you hit your temp. So I am chucking this and ordered the lower cost version the Maverick Remote-Check ET-7 Wireless Thermometer with 2 Probes. Easier to use and cost's less.
