"Dang! I LOVE this thing....."
I had been fighting a similar peppermill from Penny's for a couple of years, cursing it every time I used it. The ceramic grinders weren't worth a hoot, and from the get go, I had to tape the bottom on. Then one day, I pushed the button and the whole unit fell out of the housing into my CHILI!!!!

So, I taped that part on, as well as putting a rubber band around the batteries to keep them in, and started looking for a replacement to save my sanity. I saw this one at a VERY good price at the Warehouse, noted it was stainless, not plastic, and had a metal grinding mechanism... The six batteries was a momentary turn off, but, hey, maybe it would work better...

I took the plunge, loaded it with 6 rechargeable 3As, and now smile every time I use it! It grinds flawlessly, lights every time, and, the kicker....

NO tape needed!

This peppermill is awesome. Grinds well Have not had a problem with it accidently turning on like some reviewers. We love it.

"MIU Electric Peppermill"
I had just purchased a MOEN Electric Peppermill which failed to work upon arrival. I have MOEN faucets throughout my house and thought the quality would be present in another product; apparently not so or it's a counterfeit. In any case, I bought this MIU Electric Peppermill and have been very pleased. It has serious weight which is indicative of quality components and not cheap plastic. I use mine daily and highly recommend it.

"Needs that bottom lid!"
My wife would not miss this elegant peppermill anymore! We think this gadget is really great. However, we bought our peppermill when it still came with a bottom lid. We feel this is a mandatory part. It happens quite often that one inadvertently touches the top button when getting the peppermill out of the cupboard or putting it back in after the meal. Of course, it starts to grind instantly. So what happens when there is no lid at the bottom: you have that pepper (or salt) on your floor or wherever. Quite an annoying prospect indeed. I'd rather pay an extra dollar or so to have that lid included again. (This is assuming it is still missing as some reviews here indicate.) There is certainly no problem that the batteries are no longer included. These are readily available everywhere, whereas you'd have a hard time finding a lid that fits.

These things are a bit top-heavy (because of the batteries) so they tend to tumble if you hit them a bit. But that is only a minor problem. This peppermill has served us for several years now, with only one change of batteries so far. So, if you can get it with that bottom lid, buy it. It's great. The light is more of a gag than a necessity in our opinion. But kids love it!
