Others say...
"Outstanding Bang for the buck" Cuisinart DFP-14BCN 14-Cup Food Processor, Brushed Stainless SteelAwesome machine, specifically chose for the oversized opening. The included chese blade is PHENOMINAL and very easy to clean. Unit is aesthetically pleasing and I much prefer the 2 buttons over the Viking turn knob. We are extremely pleased with this product--pricey but well worth the investment. "There's such a thing as too much "safety" ..." The Cuisinart food processor is a wonderful tool -- I use it nearly every day, and it slices, chops, purees, and makes pizza dough to perfection. My only complaint is that in an effort to make the machine super-safe they've made it more awkward to use. An old model I had had a feed tube with a "pusher" that could be removed, making it quick and easy to add more vegetables, crackers, etc. The new model has the "pusher" permanently fixed to the feed tube, making it necessary to remove the entire cover in order to add more food. Does the company really think we're so careless that we can't be trusted with the removable pusher? The new version is slower and more awkward to use, and I wish they'd go back to the old system. Nonetheless, it's a wonderful, reliable machine and I'm happy to recommend it. "2 year life span" I share the same disappointment as other reviewers. I ran this unit once a week for 2 years and then it stopped working. The beefy looking hardware is not so durable. Unfortunately this product suffers from the same "China syndrome" that so many products seem to be afflicted with these days. "not worth it" We had this for less than 2 years and finally took it out for some baking, and it doesn't even turn on anymore. All the parts are made in China, what do you expect? Not a high quality tool. "Great Machine!" My husband and I purchased this food processor to help us feed his gazpacho addiction :-), and we have been quite pleased with it. I am a very experienced cook, but my husband is not -- and this machine works for both of us. It is intuitive to use and reasonably easy to clean. The only quibble we have is that the enclosed DVD is a few years old, and uses an older model for demonstration. That was a bit confusing for a rookie like my husband. Overall, this was definitely worth the money.

Cuisinart DFP-14BW Custom 14 Food Processor
It's better to buy this one too...
What our customer's say! "Cuisinart Messed up and Unreasonable", Received my DFP-14BCN Processor with 2 slicer blades and no Grater Blade E-Mailed cuisinart customer service- No reply after 4 business days, Rude Called Customer service- they said nothing they could do. It was Amazon's problem. Thankfully Amazon took care of it. They gave me 3 options I chose $20 credit. I ordered the part from Smallappliance.com. I also ordered a 3 disk kit, I wanted the french fry cutter. Well sealed in Cuisinart's factory box' just like the processor, was no french fry cutter. Smallappliance said return it and they would ship another. I haven't received it as of now, it should be here next week. I like Cuisinart's products, but will think twice about buying their products again. "Works like a Champ!", This is a very easy and efficient product to use; the power is terrific and should be able to handle just about any chore you can assign it. "Easy preparation with the Cuisinart Food Processor", Having just adopted the nutrition advice of Dr Esselstyn, I find the food processor is an essential tool to have. Shreading greens for salad, slicing vegetables for steaming, creating hummous, and so on are all a breeze with this food processor. Cleanup is a breeze. I use it almost every day. Don't know what I did without it! "Good old Cuisinart", I've been a Cuisinart owner since 1976--which means that more than six machines (actually, I've lost count, but I know it's at least six) have died on me from various causes. Sometimes the motors burn out, sometimes the spindle cracks, sometimes the casing around the motor cracks. The last one, which my current purchase replaces, suffered from the latter two fatal injuries--I had owned it about five years. I am a serious cook but I don't consciously abuse my appliances. Cuisinarts simply do not last all that long under constant use, as I am sure many other cooks will testify. However, I haven't found a better replacement brand (and yes, I own a Kitchenaid Mixer, and a Cuisinart blender and I owned an Osterizer food processer once and it was a disaster). The 14-cup Cuisinart represents a step up for me, as my prior machines were 11 cup models or smaller. I decided to go with the larger workbowl, as I often have dealt with the volcanic eruption or silent seepage of liquids through the spindle hole when the 11-cup model is too full. So far the 14-cup is fine, but the real test comes about three years from now, when the warranty has expired and the mortal coil starts to shuffle off. Stay tuned. I would note that the dealer who sent this to me--the dealer with the lowest price on the day I purchased the Cuisinart (and an Amazon sub-contractor)--sent me a scratched model. Kind of disgusting, but not worth the bother of shipping back and forth for a replacement. "Excellent Food Processor", This a very nice powerful food processor. Have used it almost everyday and does the job well anything you do can be done without any effort because of the large capacity and a a very powerful motor. Initial cost justifies the product. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Couldn't be more pleased ", We bought this last week and happily cooked a week's worth of meals with it this weekend. I love how quiet it is! I shredded some onions while my honey was asleep, and not a peep from him. It just purred like a cat. It is quite powerful, and buzzed right through the vegetables like a champ. The safety features are absolutely necessary; you could practically fit your entire arm in the chute if it didn't stop when you remove the pusher from the feeder chute. Once you learn how to put it together, it makes sense, and I haven't had any problem with it. The only thing I would add to it is a small work bowl, like the kind that comes with another one we were looking at. Otherwise, a very good food processor. "Never worked", I received this as a wedding gift and was very excited about it. I promptly opened it to make something, but could never get it to work. I've had food processors before, so I know everything has to be locked just so for it to function. I'm sure this one was set up correctly, but it would not operate. Since it has zero user feedback, I couldn't even tell if the unit was getting power (but I tried different outlets that I know work). I'm returning it in favor of a KitchenAid. Between this food processor and the crappy Cuisinart coffeemaker (the grind and brew one) that I just got rid of, I'm done with this brand. "HIDEOUS! Best ad possible for Kitchen Aid!", This thing STINKS! It takes forever to get the %^^^%$ thing to work. Unlike normal food processors, it is not a simple matter of clicking everything in place ... everything has to be aligned "just so" (and, if not, the machine freezes for five minutes before you can even try again) - but neither the booklet, box, nor DVD acknowledge this, and swiftly skim over assembly. Yuck! Buy a Kitchen Aid and forget about this huge, expensive doorstop. Cuisinart food processors used to be awesome, and I never even considered trying another brand until I bought this atrocity. I would NEVER buy Cuisinart again! "Yikes, it's wonderful", Yikes, it's wonderful. I mix bread dough in mine all the time. We never buy bread anymore and fresh bread coming out of the oven is usual at my house. It's so easy I've made as many as eight 2 1/2 lb. loaves for large church suppers. People think I'm a marvel, but they don't realize how eazily this product does all the work. "A Must for Serious Cooks", I am not an appliance person. I have a few tools in the kitchen and use them all. So, I resisted buying this food processor because it takes up counter space and I wondered if I would use it enough to justify the space taken up and the price. I should not have waited. I have had this machine for several years and just love it! Once you get the hang of it, it is very easy to use. It is lightening fast and does amazing things to food! For example, the shredder changes the nature of tough veggies that generally need to be cooked for a long time. Use the shredder on hard vegetables like carrots, jicama and broccoli stems (remove tough outer skin). Saute with some olive oil or butter for a few minutes and you have a delicious and quick side dish! Add lemon or saute garlic for variety.
