Others say...
"Can't trust Amazon to get this to you in one piece" I'm sure this is a fine bodum product which does what it's suppose to, but I never had the chance to test it out. I should have listened to other reviewers who had written about broken glass upon arrival, but I found out the hard way. Amazon packed this in a box much too big for the package's size and put almost no padding. Needless to say, the second I opened it I could hear the shattered glass moving all around the package. It was mangled! Do yourself a favor and just buy this at a store even if it's a few bucks more. Between the time lost spent waiting for this as well as having to go to the post office to return it, it was simply not worth it. This one's all on Amazon, not Bodum's fault. "Nicely designed tea cup" The infuser is very easy to use. It is nicely designed to avoid making mess when drinking tea. The top is used as a holder for the inner part when you are drinking. The whole set is very easy to clean too. My only complaint is that the glass wall is quite thin and the whole set looks very fragile. In fact, the first set I received was broken during the shipping. But amazon was very fast in sending me the replacement. The cup is very light. It would be better if it is a little bigger. "Cheap" This thing is cheap -- go with a Forlife mug. If drinking tea has any sort of calming-ritual effect for you, you won't want this flimsy, clunky thing. It feels like a disposable plastic cup, and the parts jangle loudly. I only bought it because it was eligible for Amazon Prime; if I had been more patient, I would have ordered another Forlife product, which are consistently good quality. "Nice glass, but packaging from Bodum horrible. Arrived broken as well!" update: replacement set arrived today. Not broken this time. This tea set works very well. I thought people were exaggerating about broken glasses during transit but as luck would have it, our set came shattered. I don't blame Amazon as much as I blame Bodum for packaging their set in such cheap packaging. There's no way it can be avoided by Amazon as UPS or USPS will damage the fragile set during transit. I can't believe Amazon hasn't told Bodum to better package their cups. Amazon promptly sent a replacement set and will arrive in one day. I'm hoping the next set is not broken but I can't hold my breath as it seems inevitable that the package will be damaged again during transit. Considering that they're selling glassware, I expect Bodum to package much better than they do. The price they charge for any of their glassware certainly would prompt one to expect much better packaging. 4 stars because of the inadequate packaging. The tea cup itself is pretty nice. "I love it" Like many others the first one i ordered was broken but amazon sent me another one so it's all good. it's a great tea cup. steeps well and cools off fast enough so i can actually drink my tea.

What our customer's say! "Good design--but now way too expensive", This was just what I was looking for, but all the reviews about broken glass made me pause. I agree Amazon is sometimes careless about packing (except for books, which always come shrink wrapped, too bad they don't apply that to breakable items). I ordered four (4-for-3 item) and they were fine. I gave some as gifts and use one in the office. The infuser also works in a teapot if you have the right size. The other issues mentioned in reviews (cleaning, tea leaves getting stuck, light weight glass) are valid but not a major problem for me, usually soaking and rinsing gets rid of any stuck tea leaves, if not a soft brush works, and vinegar cleans off tea stains. It's not perfect--I'd prefer it a bit larger, more like a mug--but better than other infusers I've tried and you can brew your tea just the way you like it. I planned to order some more, but the price has gone way up--last year it was 14.95. "tea infuser", This product is great if you like loose leaf tea! I bought it for my sister and I use it more than she does. I like how it comes with a lid so when you are done steeping you just place the insert on the lid. Its very handy! I'm thinking about buying another one. "Great Idea, but breaks far too easily", This is a great product...until it breaks. The glass is very very thin. While it may be boro-silicate glass, the infuser part of it has slits that weaken the whole structure. I've had two of these, and the infusers last about a week before the slits in the infuser turn into cracks that spider through the whole thing until it breaks in half. Nice idea but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. "not bodum's fault", I should have listened to other reviewers more closely. I, too, received a box of shattered glass from Amazon. I labored over whether or not to leave this feedback and arrived at the fact that its necessary for Amazon to take notice of how they are shipping this particular item. There have been too many of these returned (according to the feedback) due to damage during shipping for me to just sit idle here. Amazon, please modify your method of packaging and insulation for this item. It is not fair to the consumer that nothing has been done to rectify this issue. Thank you for your time and I'm hopeful this is a suggestion you will take seriously. "Perfect Cup of Tea", Just arrived safely along with Pavina Glasses. Made my first cup and all was as advertised. Going to love this item. Poured the tea in my 9oz. Pavina glasses and you could not ask for a better combination. Ordered more glasses, various sizes, since I have used nothing else for my coffee, tea and cold beverages. Hot tea into the Pavina glasses and your tea stays hot. Love Bodum products! ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Easy, Breezy", Okay - the first one Amazon shipped did have a small crack. So they replaced it free of charge and shipped it out with 1 day shipping. I really like this cup and use it several times a day. It isn't meant for the commute to work but is great around the house, yard, and at work. I have no problems at all with tea leaves being stuck and my favorite teas are not all whole leaf. It is very easy to rinse and reuse. Plus, it's aesthetically pleasing to see the amber colored tea and leaves infusing in the cup. "How to review this", I cant really review this product fully because I never got a chance to use it. It sounded like something I would like, so it was bought for me as a gift. Only problem is, when it arrived it was broken. So while I cant comment on how well the product does what its supposed to, based on what I did see of it, I can say that it looks very fragile and easily broken. I dont think Id have this in a house full of small children, one wrong move and youd have pieces all over the floor. "lid", I didn't get the lid to the cup leaving no place to put the insert full of loose tea! Barbara Weller "Poorly Packaged and Broken", The glass interior was wrapped in cardboard and not surprisingly was shattered in transit by the time I received it. I do not recommend this purchase if you do not want to drink glass shards. "Got to Love It!", I absolutely love this personal tea infuser. It is such a great design and is well made. I haven't had any problems with the tea leaves getting stuck in the slits in the bottom of the infuser. So many other cup infusers have holes that are way too big--this one is perfect. The lid helps keep the heat in while infusing, and then acts as a saucer to hold the infuser and wet tea leaves after. I also enjoy watching the tea infuse--you get to appreciate the true color of the tea that way; something you can't quite do completely with a ceramic infuser. The infuser also works in my ceramic tea pot, which is a plus. The clincher--can't beat the price and it can go in the dishwasher! I can't recommend it enough and plan on purchasing another one for my spouse. ![]() |
