Others say...
"KitchenAid Culinary Utensil Set" These are the worse utensils on the market for what you have to pay for them. They hold water in the handles whether you wash them by hand or in a dishwasher. When you pick them up to use them, the water runs out of the handles and drips into whatever you're trying to cook or prepare. Do not buy these!! "Nice" very nice & heavily built to last but just a little overpriced for color "Kitchen Aid 4 pc. culinary Utensil Set" It is an excellent set and goes well with my Kitchen Aid Tea Pot. "Large on size and style" These are lovely to look at and display well in my kitchen----but, I have to agree with many of the other reviewers on the size. These are just too big! I find these akward to use and was burned when one toppled out of the pan splattering hot food on me. For this reason, I would highly suggest using a spoon rest or plate to put them on when you are not actually stirring with them. I hope that KitchenAid will listen to their customer's complaints and will scale these down to a user-friendly size. "Way too BIG" I have this set of utensils and was very excited when I purchased them. However, after I got them home and put in my utensil crock, I realized how big and bulky they are. They are too long, too heavy and just plain too BIG.and I am in search of smaller red utensils but they are very hard to find. You can find cheap ones in white and black, but not red. I'll keep looking though and retired these Kitchen Aid ones as soon as I do.

What our customer's say! "Love this set!", After reading the previous reviews, I have to disagree. I have had none of the issues mentioned previously, with regard to handle size, water in the handle or tipping of utensil from pan to floor. I would recommend these, and also have a couple of pieces in black. No problems at all. To each his own, I guess! "Terribly designed", What were they thinking? Did they never actually TRY these utensils out after making them? The handles are so heavy that they constantly tip out of the pans if you tap them at all. "Kitchen Aid Utensil Set", I really like this utensil set. The color is bold, not boring like most kitchenwares. The non-stick material is great, especially in combination with non-stick pans. I would however advise caution about the handles. The handles will melt if you leave them touching something warm, even for just a minute. "Utensil Set", Very well made and very functional but the handles are big. This only matters if you are planning to store in a crock handles down. "Like soapy soup?", Like other reviewers, I was attracted mainly by the red color, glossy finish and spiffy nameplate. I also have them in blue, for our kosher kitchen. Like other Kitchenaid utensils I've tried, such as the box grater, these utensils are all style and no substance. They're basically useless: extremely large, clunky, heavy and very poorly balanced. The spatula is so thick it makes turning pancakes into a comedy routine. I get better results with just a table knife. The ladle serves logger-sized portions of soup, and so on. My main beef however, is that when they go through the dishwasher, they appear to absorb dishwasher detergent, or at least the fragrance, which they then impart to the chicken soup or the omelette that you are preparing. For this reason, I'm really afraid to use them at this point. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Don't immerse in water!", I agree with the other posters about the balance issues, but I have a problem with the handles holding water and flowing out when it is turned right-side-up (my cookies got soaked!)Definitely keep looking. "Too heavy on the handle end", These tools are made of high quality materials, and they look very nice. However, the ends of the handles are so thick and heavy that if you leave them propped on the side of a shallow pot or pan, or on the counter, they are very prone to flip out of the container or off of the counter, carrying food with them to the kitchen floor. This happened to me twice while cooking thanksgiving dinner. I will not throw them away, but I would never buy them again. "quality at a great price", These utensils are wonderful quality, heavy duty, large enough to use not just for cooking but also for serving. Mine have washed well in the dishwasher and still look good after much use. I see some complaints about the size. I am just under 5'8'' and not very big, and I like the size of these products. I don't think it is a reflection on the quality of the product, just personal preference. "Nice set, but too big", We received this as a wedding gift, and I was so excited because red is the color of our kitchen. However...when I opened the box and took the utensils out, I didn't realize how big they were. I'm a petite person with small hands. The grips are slippery and the utensil itself is so awkward to cook with unless you're my husband's size (6 foot and up). They remind me of knick-knacks: Pretty to look at, but not useful in any way. "They do look nice", The KitchenAid Utensil Set does look nice. The red color, and the sale price of $14.99 was the selling points for me. But once I got them home and used them that night to make supper, I found myself spending more time picking them off the floor and washing them, than I did actually using them. The handles are very heavy, and much bigger than what I am use to. If you don't have enough room to place them up to the siver ring, they land on the floor. Also I found the actualy utensil part, to be too big. ![]() |
