"Well made, very good-looking, and accurate" Not only do they look good and feel sturdy in your hand, these cups are accurate and easy to scoop and level. I saw an earlier review claiming the wider top meant less accuracy; however, recipes are never accurate when calling for cups/tablespoons/teaspoons anyway (temperature, humidity, and elevation change things too). I use my scale when I need accuracy. They are more expensive than most other cups, but I bought them more for their look and feel than functionality. I don't think measuring cups deserve that much attention (spend more effort researching your knives and appliances). If you are looking for cups, you can't go wrong with these. If you have reservations on price, buy some other ones. Either way, your recipes won't know the difference, only you will. "heavy weight" Much heavier weight than expected -- the metal must be 2 or 2.5mm thick! not of the super-smooth, perfectly polished edge quality of metalwork, but they will outlive me for sure. (not that they have rough or sharp edges, think rustic, handmade jewelry -- not all the bowls are same thickness) "measuring spoons" sturdy, well made and good looking use these spoons every couple of days and am pleased each time highly recommend "Sweet spoons" These spoons are lovely... High quality, nice heavy feel... And I love how they stand up when you set them down so your spices stay on the spoon. Great addition to your kitchen tools collection! "Feels wonderfully heavy in your hand" These are VERY well-made. They feel great in your hand and are nice to look at as well. The wide mouth on the 1-cup can be a little difficult to measure flour with, but it doesn't bother me. I like the low, wide look of the cups. Gave this item 4 stars because a 3/4 cup measure would have been a nice addition. It's an unnecessary pain to measure out 1/2 then 1/4 cup.

What our customer's say! "Wonderful feel!", These will be the last ones I will ever need as they are that well made. I love the weight and look of them. I usually hang my spoons on the side of the fridge on magnetic hooks but these are so heavy the hooks won't hold them so I have had to buy stronger hooks. ;-D "Measuring Spoons for Men that Like Tools", With their serious heft, these compliment vintage cast iron and multiclad cookware. These aren't dainty little spoons that you almost have to worry might bend under running water. There is no useless plastic or rubber on the handles. They stack well and they are easy to store. As with all good tools, as long as you take care of them they will likely take care of you for a lifetime. "What I Have Always Wanted", I have been looking for something like these for years. I hate when cooking utensils have useless plastic and rubber handles. These have none of the useless features that I don't like. They compliment my cast iron and multiclad cookware with their serious heft. These should be able to last a lifetime if properly cared for. Other people have complained about these being too shallow. There are not many things in my cooking roster that require an exact measurement and I can't think of many things that do. Heck, my grandmother never used measuring devices and she cooked amazing meals without ever using an exact measurement. "Very Durable!", I was looking for a durable and high quality measuring spoon set. THESE ARE EXCELLENT! They seem very strong but not big or bulky. Would definitely purchase these again for myself or as a gift. "Well made, very good-looking, and accurate", I bought these because of the feel and look. However, they are functional as well. The curved end allows you to place them on a counter without spilling their contents. They are very sturdy and accurate too. The price was the same as other ones I looked at that were not as sturdy or nice. I also purchased the measuring cups that match these. They were a bit pricey and I usually don't buy matching sets, but the quality and looks sold me. I research a lot of my kitchen tools before buying, but measuring cups and spoons are just not that special enough to nitpick over functionality. Buy these because they are high quality and good looking. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Setting the Spoon Standard", Amco's measuring spoons set the spoon standard in every way. They are professional quality that no serious chef can be without. "Great spoons", I had these measuring spoons in odd sizes and loved them. Lucky to find these matching ones. They feel sturdy and that's what I liked. "Top rated by Cook's Illustrated", Top rated by Cook's Illustrated this product is durable, well designed and worthy of its top rating "Useful", I use this set all the time. Nice markings. Easy to grip. But, I think it might be useful to add a spoon or two of fractions of a table-spoon. I would give five stars, but does ANY set of spoons deserve more than four? "Shallow cups make for less accuracy", I was going to buy these off Amazon, until I actually saw and handled them at a Bed Bath & Beyond store. As another reviewer mentioned, the cups are very wide and shallow, leaving a lot of room for error. The halfway marks are even less useful since there's no way to level it off half-filled (unless you're measuring liquids, which really shouldn't be done with a dry measuring cup anyway). It's a shame, since the Amco Advanced Performance spoons are very well-designed. I'm probably going to go with the MIU stainless steel cups instead. |
