"French Press Works As Expected"
I never owned a French Press coffee maker before. This one works as expected. It is in reality a one cup serving size. Saying 3 cups must be for demitasse size cups. It is easy to use and a quick way to grab one cup on the way to work in the morning. It features a screen when pouring to filter out any grinds that may have slipped through in the press process.

"Good coffee but SO SMALL!"
Great coffee but I wish I would have read more reviews first. I LOVE coffee and this is not 3 cups worth. Even if I filled to the brim it is about 12 ounces. Since you're not supposed to fill it that full it is approx. 8.5-9.5oz. I want more!! I would have bought a bigger one had I known that someone doesn't know how to measure in ounces. Oh well.

"Missing"
The item arrived broken and my daughter says she never received the replacement that the company sent.

"No better French press than Bonjour"
Bodum may have bought the original inventor the Melior companywho produced "La cafetiere"(The coffee maker) and does to this day produce a luxury line for Bodum.
Bonjour(Good Day!) improved on theBodum several lines by a.)inserting an ultra fine filter in the pouring path, eliminating the'mud in the last sip(this fault is in the coffee grinder which produces some or much powder, known as 'fines' which is desirable only when brewing Turkish/Greek style coffee in a special cone shaped brewer known as an 'Ibrik' or by similar names depending on the country. In all other coffee making methods, 'fines' are a bane: in the Frnch presses they creep through the main filter(the plunger) and end up as detritus in the cup.In drip style coffee-making, the introduce extra strength but it makes the coffee bitter. Few coffee grinders, including some costing several hundred dollars, manage a grind devoid of 'fines'which will affect even the best espresso, made by champion 'baristas'(coffee making equivalent to 'chef') in the most formidable espresso machine costing several thousand dollars.I strongly reccommend the Bodum 'Antigua' burr grinder which is only $69.95 at amazom or A A Bree(shipping included and at A A Bree- no tax either)as it produces NO fines whatsoever at any setting(hey:it is quality made in Denmark, NOT China!comes with a real manual in good English. I does have one flaw:it cannot grind fineenough for true espresso except in Bodum's idiosyncratic espresso machine and in stove-top espresso-like drinks.
Back to Bonjour: Yes, they have stainless models(the Monet nd Eiffel lines resembling the Bodum and Melior standards but the extra price does not ontribute to better quality coffee and removes stability:the Hugo line, which is all black non slip plastic, sports a built-in detachable coaster that truly anchors the presspot to th ubiquitous Fomica or granite like countertop in modern kitchens. The 'unbreakable' models use carafes made from polycarbonateplastic(like GE's Lexan):They're truly tough but will not stay as clear as the all glass carafes which are quite tough, being made from BOro-Silicate"HI-Temp glass. So if you're not a real 'klutz'(butter fingered) the regular models will be best.About 'cups', the european standard(tasses) prevails an the 3 cup model produces barelyenough bew to fill one of our standard 10 ounce mugs. The eight ounce cup is strictly an american baking/kitchen term: no one elses'son the planet, so let's not complain about this .Bonjour show the true capacity on the box in US fluid ounces. a final exhortastion: read the damned little manual or read up on French press coffee on the web. peruse Sweet Maria .com for more coffee info that is provided by any manufacturer. And if you really love coffee, also go to coffegeek.com for unbiased pro reviews. User reviews are mostly balderdash(sincere but either biaes or based on coffee ignorance: coffee, like fine wine is not an easy subject to master. "3 sips, not 3 cups. So tiny I laughed."
I have no idea why this product is marketed as a 3 cup. After adding the ground coffee you'll barely get enough water in it to make a standard mug/cup. I don't know about you but a cup of coffee for me is actually a Cup in measure. The quality is good but the rubber base should be removed before microwave heating or it gets too hot (nearly melted).
Hugo says this thing is "Unbreakable" but I don't want to test it out since it feels like tempered glass. Yes I know what Polycarbonate or Lexan feel like.

What our customer's say!

"Cheap & Very Tiny", At less than $10, it's hard to have many complaints about this French Press. It's cheap and easy to use, and like most presses makes superior coffee.

The one thing that you should be aware of before you purchase it, is that it is EXTREMELY TINY, and has somewhat of an odd design. There is absolutely no way that this press contains three cups of coffee, it is more like one small cup. You should also be aware that the plastic piece on the bottom that keeps the press balanced is also removable. Therefore, it is easy to spill if you are not careful.

If you are looking for something small and cheap to leave at the office than this is not a bad choice, but if you're looking purchase a French Press for more frequent home use, I would definitely invest a few extra dollars and go with a larger and more substantial classic glass version from Bodum.

"Terrific!", Please ignore the people who reviewed and didn't realize that 3 cups are DEMITASSE cups, which are the small cups of coffee served at fancy-shmancy restaurants. Coffee "cups" are traditionally measured in demitasse sizes, NOT in the coffee mugs you buy at the store. That said, this French press makes ONE average mug-size cup of coffee and it does a great job! I bought this French press to replace my husband's press, which I accidentally broke. It's better than the old one! I love the extra filter in the lid because it keeps out the few extra coffee grounds that inevitably slip through the main filter (this happens with all French presses, including our old one and our big 8 cup press). I also like that its unbreakable, so I won't ever have to buy one again!

The price is fabulous. I tried to find a small French press locally, but it was hard to find one in this size and at a reasonable price. Most of them ran $20-$30 and were breakable and didn't have the nifty rubber stand on the bottom. I got this one for much less, and that included the shipping! This French press deserves a much higher rating than people have given it. I HIGHLY recommend this press, just remember it makes one mug and three demitasse! :-D

"BonJour 3-Cup Review", This coffee press works great. I keep the 8-cup at work and use the smaller 3-cup at home or to take on trips. I would definitely recommend this product mainly because of its durability, but I would go with the 8-cup and not the 3-cup (it is too small).

"Cold coffee and NOT a 3 cup French Press", Whomever said that this should be considered a "3 cup" french press must have been living in a different time and space dimension because this most certainly did not put forth more than 1 cup of coffee!

I am a faithful Bodum french press consumer who is used to glass french presses. The plastic of this Hugo model might be "unbreakable," but it also allows the coffee to get cold more quickly. It has helped that I have wrapped the press with a tea towel, however, this is a tedious thing to do every time.

I am not happy with this purchase and would not recommend this to staunch coffee afficiandos.

"Its small but works", 3 cups is like 9 ounces i guess. Because the mug only get's filled 2/3 up. Otherwise pretty cool press

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Not Three Cups", Maybe three demitasse cups.
This is a standard one-cup French Press, providing about 10 oz of brew.
It is an adequate French Press - how can you screw that up?
(Conversely, what can you do to make one special?)
My beef is that this is advertised as 3 cups which I take to mean 24 oz raw capacity.
I should have known something was up when the fluid ounce capacity was not specified.
The price was good, even at the reduced capacity, thus the 3rd star.

"Great way to enjoy coffee-for-one again!", Somehow, this little product is more convenient than using your coffee maker for one cup of coffee. This model will only make one mug of coffee. When they say "3 Cup" they mean tiny, little dinner set coffee cups, not measuring cups. Regardless, its a great way to make single serving coffee.

"Makes a perfect cup of coffee", This French Press works great for a person like myself who enjoys a great cup of coffee on a weekend morning. I followed the directions using freshly ground coffee beans (I don't use pre-ground coffee), microwaved the water to the right temperature (200 F) and after four minutes the coffee I drank was so smooth and perfect I didn't need to add any sugar to it.
I threw out my Braun coffee maker the same day I made my first cup of coffee with this press.
Note this version of the press is small and even though it indicates 3 cups those are three four-ounce cups for a total of 12 ounces. If you are a big coffee drinker you may want a bigger press. I had
I also recommend you buy a cheap beverage thermometer if you heat your water in a microwave, so the water temperature is perfect when you brew the coffee in the press.
Note I also bought this press on special at $10 with free shipping, but I don't think the product is worth more than $10.

"Even works GREAT with tea", I use my Bonjour press to press my loose Earl Grey tea leaves. It does a fantastic job and the measuring scoop you get with this thing is the perfect size for scooping tea. Get this... it even works great for pressing tea bags to get that extra kick of tea. I don't drink coffee (sorry if that is blasphemy), but I am sure it would do just fine with coffee. This press is NOT a standard U.S. 3 cups. You will do good to get 10-12 oz. out of it. Some may complain about that, but even though it is a little misleading, it is perfect for my 15 oz. mug.

"Truth in Advertising", 3 cups = 1.5 US cups.
Thought I was getting an unbreakable model, this one is glass.
Gave it away as present.
Got what I wanted elsewhere.
