What our customer's say!

"Poor quality and terrible customer service - regretting this purchase!", I'm not sure if this is exactly the one I bought - but it is similar. I also bought the Gaggia espresso machine. The grinder worked fine for the first 10 months or so. Then it started smoking one day and stopped working. The warranty clearly states that the product has a 2yr warranty and instructed me to send it to Gaggia repair center, which I did. They sent it back saying they do not repair grinders. Then Gaggia Milan told me the product only has a 1 year warranty and therefore it was no longer under warranty, even though I have the warranty details which clearly state it is a 2yr warranty. I can send it to them for repair but I have to pay for shipping (to Milan!). This is a poor product manufactured by company with no concept of customer service. I wish I had bought the Nespresso machine instead.

"do NOT attempt to use for espresso coffee", OK for drip and coarser functions, but due to the cheapness of the burr holders and excessive vibration, it cannot maintain the consistent coffee particle size needed for espresso. for that you would at least need the Gaggia MDF espresso grinder. -- The GRINDER is IMO, MORE important than the machine!

"A decent Burr Grinder, but there are cheaper ones", Ok, the good things first. This grinder is easy to use, powerful, easy to clean, and I have had no problem grinding coffees from turkish to french press (you often don't get the full range of grinds on some burr coffee grinders). It also doesn't heat up too much.

Now the bad news. It's really, really loud. I ended up sound proofing mine because I didn't want to wake people up in the morning. Second the grind button must be held down during the entire grinding process (their is no timer dial to set). Third, mine builds up a lot of static (I think all burr grinders have this problem) so if you get one, be extra careful to tap the coffee container a few times before you open it.

The nice thing about Gaggia equipment is that it's pretty basic, which means if anything goes wrong, it's easy to fix with parts you can get from a supplier like whole latte love.
