"Great all purpose prep knife " This is a superb prep knife that can be used for almost anything in cooking. I find myself over-reaching its bounds at times because it is so sharp and easy to use that I forget about larger knives nearby in the kitchen. Given its size and price, it would make a good steak knife in a geek household. "Great knife for fruits and veggies." This knife gets a ton of use in our kitchen. It is deadly sharp - be careful when you start using it, or you'll cut yourself like I did! We mainly use it for fruits and veggies. The serrated blade bites right through tough skins like tomato skins and orange peels, and through other tough parts like apple and pear cores. We don't use it for dicing, because it isn't as efficient for that kind of work as a (non-serrated) chef's knife. But it still gets at least as much use in our kitchen as the pricey Wusthof chef's knife. A really great knife for the price. We're getting another one so that at least one of these little guys will always be clean and ready to use.

What our customer's say! "super knife!", This is a great knife all around. Very sharp, great price and I like the weight. Many may think the more expensive, heavier weight equals value, but I think you could not do better. I will definitely buy more. "Best all-purpose knife I ever owned", This popped up when I was ordering a Chef's knife in the Victorinox line, as one of those 'others who purchased that knife also purchased this item...' For the price, I figured 'what have I got to lose -- and I won't have to pay shipping!' Next time I need to make a purchase thru Amazon, I'll buy several more -- to keep as spares and to give as gifts. Be careful, though -- it's very sharp!! "SHARP and CHEAP!", This is an awesome knife, I also bought the larger Santoku blade so this is a great extra. Its best for things like tomatoes, citrus, or anything that isnt needing a larger knife. The serrated blade is extremeley sharp and will cut through anything without tearing! love it! "Excellent knife - watch out for the tip!", I bought this knife to use as a slicing knife for soft things like tomatoes and kiwis. It works great and can also used for slicing carrots, potatoes, celery, citrus, etc. The cutting edge extends part way around the tip of the knife, so be careful as this baby is very sharp and it's easy to cut yourself because of the shape of the blade. I managed to slice two parallel cuts in a finger getting it out of the !#@%&! clamshell package! It's lightweight, well balanced, the handle is textured and non-slip, and the edge is wavy, not serrated, so it makes smooth cuts. It's a great little utility knife. "I always considered this a tomato knife", BUT, you can cut anything from chicken to veggies with this knife (of course, you don't want to cut raw meat and then use it on veggies without washing it!)... It is extremely sharp and will cut tomato slices quite nicely and thin which is wonderful for BLT's if you like to stack tomatoes... But, it also is nice for trimming fat off meats, etc. because of the serration. I have 3 or 4 of these because I use them so much... OH, you can also use it to get mayo out of a jar... and then use it to slice your tomato, etc... with the same knife--- I've even bought these for gifts...
