"Good Cup"
The cup lives up to it's title, "Good Grips LiquiSeal." In another post, someone stated it kept his/her coffee warm for 6-7 hours. Well, this is not true. It does a good job keeping beverages cool/warm for a couple of hours, but not as long as 6/7 hours. Overall, I'm satisfied with the purchase...I would recommend the OXO.

"Works well but how do you clean it?"
I found one of these at a Ross store for 2.99. That's right, less than 3 bucks! Ha! Ha! It definitely doesn't leak and does a great job of keeping my coffee hot for a long time. If you fill it to the limit line be sure to dump out the little bit of fluid that gets inside the lid when you twist the lid down. Otherwise, you will get some small spillage. What sucks is that you are supposed to hand wash the thing and I can't see any way of properly cleaning the lid out. There could be plants and animals living inside the thing and you would have no idea. The lid also makes it a bit top heavy so you need to be careful if you leave sipping hole open. Finally, it would be nice if the open/close indicator were more noticeable.

"Great travel mugs!"
This mug is what we've been looking for. It keeps the contents hot, does not spil and fits in our car without trouble.
I've found that if you just rinse the cup after each use, you don't run into the cleaning issues as mentioned in other reviews.
Highly recommended!

"oxo mug"
Finally a mug that doesn't leak! I can just throw it in my bag and it never spills or leaks. One of the best inventions ever! Highly recommend for people on the go.

"This is a leakproof cup! I also bought the OXO Liguiseal container cause it holds more."
This is a true leakproof cup. Fits in my cupholders.
I also bought the next larger size OXO Liquiseal Container because I wanted more volume to drink. Both are LEAKPROOF and fith the holders.

What our customer's say!

"Great at first glance and use.", It does keep your drink hot. It does seal very well. However, I had to throw mine away after only a few months. If you are going to use this for coffee(I would imagine most will), the top will get filled with "gunk". It is immpossible to clean the top well, if at all(at least I didn't see a way). Also, due to the design of the top, the tumbler is very top heavy, leaving it prone to falling over at the slightest bump. The top which does not hold liquid is approximately 1/3 the height of the cup itself.

"The best "travel cup" so far, but not perfect...", The best "travel cup" so far, but not perfect...virtually spill-proof, but not te easiest to clean. A cleaning "trick", rinse the "inside" of the cap mechanism out immediately after using it...

"Great Buy", Very good travel mug! This mug is absolutely water-tight - it won't leak, even if up-side-down. It's easy to operate with one hand, and the metal part does not stain or retain flavor/smells.

However, in my experience drinks stay very warm for maybe 3 or 4 hours (not 7 as advertized). Also, the plastic part gets that horrible rotten sponge smell if not cleaned, rinsed and dried properly (hot water and baking soda work great in getting rid of it, though). A friend of mine said the spring that makes the button work wore out, and then the mug wasn't water-tight any more. So far, mine still works fine (it's withstood a lot of amused clicking). Another thing to consider is that sometimes it is REALLY hard to get the cover unscrewed after use - I screw it on pretty tightly to avoid coffee spillage, and maybe the warm plastic is malleable? So don't screw it on as tight as it goes.

I would say that this mug is definitely worth the ~$20, and if you leave the plastic top open and unscrewed, there should be no smell.

"Great start but poor finish", I really enjoyed using this mug initially. It did a great job of keeping my coffee warm for hours and it never leaked. Unfortunately it was difficult to clean. I found myself taking a gulp of soap subs after cleaning it even though I rinsed it extremely well. I probably could have lived with that but eventually the push button stopped allowing me to close the spout...so much for not leaking after that. It became so bothersome that I ended up getting a different travel mug.

"Hard to clean, plastic taste", This mug keeps things cold or hot well, and the seal is easy to work with one hand - you push a button, which shows a red border when open, and then push it again to close. It hasn't leaked on me.

But - the lid is just impossible to clean thoroughly, for the reasons cited by several other reviewers. I would never put any liquid in it that tended to spoil including coffee or tea with milk or cream or, for that matter, sugar. And when I have mildly flavored tea or plain water in the mug, it has a distinctly unpleasant taste of plastic.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Works great", This item is great. It doesn't leak and is simple to use, fits in cup holders, keeps servings to a reasonable amount.

It seals a little too well, remember to wash and let it air out.

"Love it", I've had my travel mug for at least two years, and it still works perfectly. My coffee stays hot all day, and I've never had a problem with leaks. It cleans well in the dishwasher.

"Good but ...", I didn't believe the other reviews, but this mug is EXTREMELY difficult to clean. It does keep your drink nice and warm, and it doesn't leak, but it also builds up a crust inside that's pretty disgusting. With the complicated click-top mechanism there's no real way to tell if you're getting it clean or not ...

"Lid cannot be cleaned", The good: Nice shape. Spill proof. Insulates reasonably well. Oxo stands behind their products, and in many cases, they have fantastic design and ergonomics in their products. But read on before buying this mug.

The bad: Very difficult to clean the lid. We've used que tips and brushes to clean the opening at the top where you drink from. We've soaked the lids overnight in vinegar. But it's what you can't see that is truly disgusting. Read on.

The ugly: I actually dismantled the lid using pliers and hacksaw so that I could see inside the lid on the underside. The coffee gunk (I use it for coffee with skim milk and sugar) that builds up in there where you could never gain access to clean it without taking the lid apart and breaking it (which I did) is amazing. It's disgusting. I can't imagine how much bacteria must accumulate in there. Oxo dropped the ball on the design of this product. They should fix the lid or take it off the market. Once I saw all the gunk trapped inside this lid and thought about the health hazards of this, I asked for a refund. It is truly disgusting.

Check out this video of what I found when I dismantled the lid:

"Great at first, but eventually, unable to completely clean.", Agree with some of the other reviewers. Best not to use with mixed drinks, for example, coffee or tea with milk or cream, otherwise, particulate material gets trapped in lid (breeding-ground for bacteria). I almost threw up at work with my first morning sip. I had been sure I had cleaned and rinsed out the top the night before.
After work, I tried many times to clean the top out. Despite hot water & soap regimen (similar to prior posts), followed by multiple (>15X!) rinsings with vigorous shaking, I could not clean it completely-brown flaky crud would still come out (saw when rinsing into white bowl)-very gross! Finally, I gave up and "sacrificed" the top and opened up the inner mechanism (by cutting the stem). Design flaw led to retained material in central chamber with foul-smelling, encrusted, rusty metal spring-coil. Oxo needs another seal, to prevent liquids from coming into the central chamber. I loved this mug, until I realized it was too difficult to clean. I was trying to be "green" by bringing own mug to work. I use the bottom still, but for bringing liquids (with milk) to work, I will go back to my Nissan thermos, until can find a better mug design, that's non-spilling, safe and easy to clean. I'm going to warn my friends who have not had their mugs as long...
