"Quality product, bargain price. ", I've had this particular product for about 10 years now. I bought the pieces individually at a department store and am certain I paid at least 50% more than what Amazon is offering. This is real bargain.

As I said I've had these dishes for many years. They still look like new - I do not have a single chip and the paint has not faded a bit.

The pattern is very attractive. All the pieces are nicely sized and are neither too big nor too small. They are dishwasher and microwave safe.

The only drawback, for some perhaps, is the weight of the dishes. They are very heavy and this may not be what everyone is looking for. For me, the weight adds to the substance and quality of the product.

You can't beat this deal for hand-painted made in Italy dinnerware. It should last you many years.

"GORGEOUS!", I've been to the factory in Patti, Sicily and own about 60 pieces (various designs, including this one) and have to say I LOVE my Caleca dishes. They are just beautiful and classic. They are sturdy ceramic (terracotta I believe) dishes. I've been using my daily (thru several children) for 10 years and 7 moves!!! I mix and match and I get a lot of compliments. The dishes aren't breakproof but have handled all those moves and banging around with little wear. The classic Girasole (which seems to be their "signature" pattern) is my absolute favorite.

"Caleca Girasole Italian handpainted dinnerware", I bought two place settings of the Girasole for intimate Sunday brunches. 13 years later, and I still love it. It is wonderfully cheery with a rustic elegance, and holds up splendidly, even with children handling it. Our family has grown, and I had planned to order more settings from the Caleca website today, but found the cost was very high -- almost double the Amazon offer! The Caleca order form's international shipping options did not include the U.S. (Stati Uniti) so they may not ship here. Grab it now while you can!

"Quality, beauty, and lead free", We also love this dinnerware. Its very colorful and each piece is hand painted. It kind of reminds me of water colors on a plate. So far it has been very durable and truly is microwave friendly (when you microwave food on a plate it warms the food and not the plate). It also meets California proposition 65 lead free standards in case you were wondering.

"The best dinnerware around bar none! ", I can only give this Italian stoneware/ceramic the highest praise ... Not only is it beautiful - it's sturdy, chipresistant(!), microwave resistant, and dishwasher safe. It's not at all like any Italian stoneware i've bought in the past which easily chipped, and got hot and "crackled"/crazed in the microwave, dishwasher etc... I liked it so much i bought the pasta bowl set, a 2nd service for 4 of the dinnerware and also a set for friends for Xmas. I highly recommend it! My friends loved it too and decided to buy a set of the Caleca Bluemoon to mix and match with. They are sold on it! What can i say...it's a beautiful, "artiginale" italian product ...Viva Italia!
