Others say...
"pretty good" The size of this pan is great for a lot of uses. I am disappointed in the wall thickness though. The wall on this pan is thinner than the 1 qt I bought a couple of years ago. "Speaks for itself" What needs to be said about an All-Clad product other than they are one of the best on the market? This is a nice weighty piece that conducts heat evenly. A great addition to my other pieces. Highly recommend. "Great Cookware" This is a heavy duty item. It distributes heat evenly and it is very attractive. I have a full set and bought this piece for my daughter. I would highly recommend it although it is a bit pricey. It should last forever if given proper care. "INDISPENSABLE, EXPENSIVE, WORTH THE PRICE" I would buy Cuisinart or Sitram for pots larger than the 1 1/2 or 2 qt. saucepans (aluminum or copper disc base rather than full aluminum stainless steel sandwich), but for sauces the small All Clads are great--even heat, easy clean up, and quality USA build. "All lCad Door Busters are must have" All Clad has two pots at bargain prices to lure cooks in to the pleasures of top quality cookware--the 8" fry pan and the 1 1/2 qt. sauce pan. You deserve both of them so don't hesitate. My mother is 89 and a true penny squeezing Depression Era baby. I gave her the 1 1/2 qt. sauce pan and to my surprise the last time I visited she had bought the fry pan for her self. She liked the looks (she leaves these pans out on the stove just because she likes the look of quality) and appreciated the even heating and ease of cleaning. If you buy these two pieces you will probably come back for more thus justifying All Clad's marketing strategy. I know I sound like an All Clad shill, but don't hesitate, it's a bargain.

What our customer's say! "Over priced - bad warranty", I can't believe the price of a 3 qt. sauce pan! It's not worth it. And the warranty is horrible. There are a lot nicer pans out there for this kind of money. "Hot to Dine", 4th degree burns can be suffered when handling this metallic brim stoke pot, which doesn't have cool iron density retraction at the handle. You are better getting a cool wave disperse model which Maytag sells, but if you use a Calco hand glove, this is just as good. "Indestructible ", I have had this pan for a bit over 6 months and saw nothing outstanding in it compared to the other All-Clad products that I have (I love all of them). But then my teenaged children where released to summer vacation. I came home from work to find them watching a movie and as I passed the kitchen I noticed a spot of warmth. Thinking this was odd I asked if anyone was cooking something. My oldest jumped off the couch with the agility that only a panicked teenager could have and ran into the kitchen. I followed close behind to find my 2 quart sauce pan on the 12,000 BTU burner, on high no less... With nothing in it. It turns out that an hour before my son had put on a quart of water to boil and forgot about it. The pan was HOT. There was carbon marks all on the inside of the pan, none on the out side though. I just turned off the burner and told everyone not to touch it for an hour. I suspected that the pan was ruined, but it was not. No delamination, no deforming, just some discoloration and carbon marks. A small amount of Bar Keepers Friend® Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZ and a lot of elbow grease and the pan looked like it just came out of the box. Though I would not make this your first All-Clad purchase, I would highly recommend this saucepan. It has the quality, finish and control you would expect from an All-Clad product. It may seem a bit narrow and tall at first but, as other reviewers have mentioned, that allows it to minimize reduction and creates a moist steam filled area in the upper portion of the saucepan. For a more versatile pan I would recommend the All-Clad Stainless 3-Quart Saucier Pan, but I would not be with out this sauce pan in my collection. "Excellent!", Like all other All-Clad, superb pan and the 'refurb' model offers a great savings - fast, free shipping from Amazon! "All-Clad always perfect", As usual, this pan is a delight to use, easy to clean, and perfect size for my shrinking family. Pay the extra money and buy All-Clad! ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Rivet fell off", Found a rivet in my food that I found out came from the lid handle. The company does replace the lid but only after you mail it in and wait for 6-8 weeks. Too long for me to wait, since I use this pot to cook rice in and don't have any other replacement in the meantime. Won't buy All-clad again. "All-Clad 1 1/2 qt. saucepan", I am very please with the response to my order. The item is as described. "Extremely useful!", Great size for soups/sauces, my son's macaroni and cheese prep, rice...I use it almost everyday. "Perfect Pan, Excellent Value!", Ever wish for the perfect size pan for vegies, soup, sauce or gravy? Are you cooking for one or two, or need a small pan for a side dish? Ever wish you could thoroughly heat clam chowder without scorching it? Wish you could save energy by being able to cook at a lower temperature? Wishing for a pan that takes little room in the cupboard or dishwasher? One that heats from the sides as well as the bottom for even heat distribution without hot spots? A pan that is so substantial and sturdy that it may last a lifetime? If so, this may be the perfect pan for you. Some people avoid stainless because food might stick, but I have absolutely no problem with this pan. I have a small kitchen and am delighted that this pan actually fits sideways in the dishwasher between rows of posts, and because it is wider than it is tall I can stack several on one shelf. It is 3 ply, with aluminum for superior heat conduction sandwiched between layers of top quality stainless steel. Stainless doesn't react with any foods, and this pan is oven safe up to 500 degrees. I can start cooking in the pan and finish cooking or keep it warm in the oven, even use it to serve from, and store leftovers in the fridge. The double riveted handle can't fall off like a welded handle could, and there are no screws to tighten or lose. If you've ever thrown away a pan because the nonstick was scratched or peeling or the pan was warped, or thrown away food because a warped or thin pan caused it to scorch or because aluminum reacted with and discolored the food or caused it to taste metallic, then you know what a poor value in cookware can do. This pan is top of the line at a great price. Over half a century I have used many brands of cookware and none have completely pleased me until now. "Beauty and a beast", All-Clad stainless is a work-horse in disguise as a beautiful woman, yet it does the job and is easy to clean. I know you can put the stainless All-Clad in the dishwasher, but I like to wash it by hand. Not exactly a burden. I have a number of pieces and next on my list is a 12 inch fry pan and lid...got to save up some more pennies... ![]() |
