"nice pot" this pot is great for frying up garlic for seasoning or a small batch of fried onions, cooking nuggets, heating up small portions, etc, i like the item, however i would feel more secure using it on an electric stove with the coils, i have a gas range and have to be very careful the pot does not tip over if not balanced right on the grate, just a word of caution, do not leave pot unattended while using... "Great Little Pan" Got this today and LOVE it. I can see many uses for this especially at the barbecue will be great for the butter or sauces.Very happy with the size 14 oz its great so you have no spills because its deep shape. May order more for gifts. "Super Fast Shipping, great product!" I just got this pot today (arrived within three days) and I'm very satisfied with it. Like previous reviewers have stated, this item can serve many purposes besides melting butter. HOWEVER, the product was packed rather poorly! There wasn't any packing materials in the box at all. "Perfect accessory in kitchen" Besides being so irresistably cute, this little pan is a wonderful size for so many uses. I simply hate trying to melt butter in the microwave and this little pot is the perfect size and shape for that. I can't wait to find more uses for it--maybe poach a single egg? And Lodge is made in America! "It's not how big it is--it's what you do with it that counts!" This pot won't quite hold a standard can of chili or soup with room leftover to stir, so keep in mind that limitation. Within those bounds, though, it works beautifully--stovetop to oven and back, nice even and deep heating. I use it for reducing pan sauces and moles, individual meat loafs (sic), and even small egg dishes or batters. Clean it with a good scrubber while it's still hot and you won't lose the seasoning. Small footprint can make it slip on some burner trivets.

What our customer's say! "Caution - Good product, but...", Before you purchase, consider the burner grates on your oven. The Lodge Logic melting pot is nicely made, but has to be watched when I use it as it is barely large enough to sit securely on my oven's burner grates. Also, as another shopper complained, whoever packs the item is not careful. In my case it had packing material (the awful balloon type), but was not property separated from the metal measuring cup I ordered. - Thankfully only scratching occurred and not enough for me to warrant returning the cup (especially when it is a pain to return anything) but enough to make me very unhappy. Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron 14-Ounce Melting Pot "Melting pot", This little cast iron pot is great when to need to melt or brown butter, or even cook an egg for a sandwich. "Great little pot", Great little pot for melting butter, heating up small servings. Use this little pot daily now and don't know how I ever lived without it. Goes to the grill with sauce for basting, melting butter for popcorn, and when it is just me, I can cook my lunch on the stove. Foods stays out longer in the cast iron. "Great little helper!", Handy warmer for gravies, sauces, syrups and butter...the cast iron holds the heat and keeps them warm longer than a gravy boat. Mine is always on my stovetop now. "Love it", I love the look and the quality of this little pot. It's perfect size for many uses. Beside melting butter and reheat left over food, I also cook my oatmeal breadfast (1 cup of milk /or water, 1/3 cup of oatmeal and 1 tablespoon of brown suger)and it's wonderful everytime. Read this reviews before You buy... "Wonderful size...Lodge quality", I really love this little pot. It is a perfect size for so many uses. It is very impressively made, as are all the US-made Lodge products. I also enjoy the gentle pour spouts on each side. I'm left-handed so chances are if there was only a spout on one side it would be the wrong one. I agree with P. Callen that it was not packed well, however. Mine was just tossed into the bottom of a much larger box with some of those air bags so it was jostling around. I was lucky that it came from the amazon warehouse that is only 30 miles from my house but I imagine if I had to travel, and be handled, more it would have been at peril. Just going from my UPS hub (the same one for the amazon warehouse) to delivery the box was already showing wear. "This little pot deserves a 5 star review", I bought this thinking it would get used once in a while to melt some butter or heat up some syrup. I find that it is the most used cast iron tool in my arsenal. It has almost eliminated the use of my microwave which is a good thing. Left over soups, chili, and just about anything else that is liquid or semi-solid gets heated in this thing. It is the perfect size for leftovers and being quite small it heats up quick for cast iron. It keeps your syrup warm on the table until your last pancake and you can pour it from the pot without a mess. It cleans easy, nothing sticks to it and doesn't take up space. This is a must have for any collector of fine cast iron cookware or anyone that cooks for that matter. "good product, BAAAAD shipping", I am happy with the pan, but was horrified at the way it was shipped--just by itself, with no packing materials at all in a cardboard box, which was pretty beat up by the time it got to me, what with such a heavy object bouncing around inside it. I know it's cast iron. I also know, that struck in the right place, even cast iron can break, especially at the handle. It was a miracle this arrived in one piece. I won't order any such item again because of the way it was packaged. "Handy grilling accessery", I have two of these little sauce pots. I put them on the barbecue while I am grilling. The sauce or melted herb butter stays hot and there is no messy dripping because the pot is right next to the items being grilled. I only gave it 4 stars because the directions say not to use soap, just water, to clean it. You have to use soap to get it clean. It doesn't hurt the pan. Just dry it quickly and oil it before putting it away. "A versatile little pot!", I'm replacing all my cookware with Lodge Logic. This little pot seemed like a luxury item, since I expected to use it to melt chocolate and butter or scald milk. But I cook and bake a lot so decided to treat myself to a specialty item. It was delivered a few minutes ago, and I can immediately see a lot of uses for it, including: reheating gravy, heating a single serving of vegetables or other side dish, warming a 14 oz. serving of soup. And of course, melting chocolate and butter. It has a pleasing shape, and the handle is a good length. Spouts on either side will make pouring easy and neat. Another winner, Lodge! |
