"Not what I expected" Many years ago, we bought four Grab-it bowls and they have served us well. They are white, _Pyrex glass_, and were made by Corning here is the USA. These "new" Grab-It bowls come from a factory in China and are not made of Pyrex. They are _stoneware_ and as anyone knows stoneware eventually chips and cracks. "Great Bowl for a Combination of things" I had one of these Grab It bowls before. I broke it and looked for a replacement. The previous one was made in the USA like all my other Corning Ware. Now all are made in China or abroad. The quality is not the same but still a good bowl "love these things" These things are great. I use them all the time for a box of frozen vegetables, a small salad, or many many side servings. I can also warm up alot of leftovers, or use trhem for an ice cream bowl. These things are a lifesaver and do not take up & do not take up much space. Maggie, Missouri "The Very Worst Packing Job I Have Ever Seen" I purchased 4 of these bowls and an expensive German peeling knife. They just arrived in a big box with no individual packaging. . . 4 bowls floating around in a big box with an unpackaged knife. Briliant! What a mess. Bowls are all scratched. Knife is all scratched. one bowl had the handle broken. Amazon addressed the issue, kudos to that, but the shock and disappointment factor is incredible. Oh I almost forgot. We have been using similar bowls for years that were like white Pyrex, we love them. These are not the same, these are more like normal walmart-like glazed stoneware baking dishes. Looks like Corning changed their design. Made in China, hope there is no lead in the glazing. Amazon did respond promptly to the damage problem and replaced the damaged products. The knife arrived very quickly in a separate box with good packaging and in very good condition. The new bowls arrived today, they are individually packed in a bubble wrap envelopes, but still bouncing around loose in the box. Only one bowl was smashed to little bits this time! I give up, I'm out of fight. I'll make due with what I have. "Exactly what I needed - as a french onion soup crock" While this is made for other purposes perhaps, I found that I needed something big enough to hold a bowl of soup that could also go in the oven. My normal dinnerware wasn't the answer, as it didn't say it's safe in the oven. So I bought 4 of these for cooking french onion soup in the oven (specifically Trader Joe's frozen variety, which turns out awfully if microwaved). The lids fit great too, if one of us doesn't finish the bowl! Pretty handy little dishes overall.

What our customer's say! "Love these bowls", We use these bowls everyday. They're the perfect size for soups, cereal or that small amount of leftovers you need to heat up in the microwave. I especially like the grab-it handle - it's perfect for the kids. "Fine little bowl", I accidently broke one of these Corningware bowls that I've had for nearly 20 years and was very happy to find a replacement. They are the perfect size for a serving of soup or chili and are great in the micro-wave. The only thing new is the plastic cover. They fit tightly and I suppose would make anyone happy who uses them. Personally I could do without the cover, I use a paper towel in the microwave to prevent spills, but could see a use for the cover on occasion. These bowls are easy to clean and should last forever if you don't drop them on a tile floor! "Lesson learned", Amazon shipped the product in a timely fashion as is Amazon.com's reliable practice. I was dismayed with the product received, though. The Corning grab-it was NOT the Corning USA that I remembered, it was Chinese Corning Stoneware. They are not bright white, but have a grey tint and they are heavier and unglazed on the bottom. Can't blame anyone , but little ole me because I could have paid more attention to the product's description. Salvation Army will become the -4- grab-its new owner. Thanks anyway Amazon, it is not your fault, I should have remembered that "Reading is fundamental". "Durable, Practical", These bowls are very durable and practical, however, the lids are somewhat hard to remove. I hope they loosen up with use. These bowls are great for microwaving soup and leftovers. I own 2 sets. One set I've had at least 16 years and still looks like new. "Not the same quality these once were", This is a GREAT alternative to plastic storage, and I do prefer the plastic lid over the glass, as it doesn't slide around & slip off if I use it to take my lunch to work. However, these are definitely not made as nicely as they were many years ago. The ceramic dish itself seems much more brittle than my old bowls, and they are made in china. The handle has a squared edge, so it doesn't match up quite so well with the rounded edge on the lid. As another reviewer noted, these lids are not air tight, so be careful if you use it for soup or other liquidy foods. The size is perfect for the average meal. I'd pay twice as much if I could get the old quality, however considering my alternatives for food storage and reheating leftovers for lunch in the microwave at work (never heat plastic!!), I would definitely recommend these bowls. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Oh.... these are NOT for stove top?", I heated soup and chili in these on the stove top for four years until I got a microwave. I thought "It's Corning... must be for stove top too." I just read reviews and learned they are for IN the oven, not ON. Guess I was lucky that none broke. I bought 4 at different times: two with opaque plastic lids, two with clear. The opaque lids were too darn hard to put on and remove, so I gave them to a thrift shop. I think the plastic lids might not be microwave proof. Minus one star because these handy dishes are not for stove top. "Grab-It Dish with Cover", Have to be careful when microwaving. Lid pops off and creates spills, if left sealed. If not liquids still seap out over the edge and spill. "perfect", Perfect for on the go dips. Cleans easily and the cover lets you throw left over in the fridge for easy late night clean up. "Awesome ", I had 1 of these my mom gave me and have dropped it, etc and it's still perfect. So my husband and I bought 7 more to have a total of 8. We use them for EVERYTHING! Freezer, Fridge, Microwave, Oven, Dishwasher, etc. They're like the perfect dish. Very durable, lids fit great. Haven't stained one yet. Dropped them more than once, still look great. Highly recommend these for anyone. "mocha4mama", I have owned three of the CoringWare 15 oz. Grab-It Dish's with Cover for several years. One was in the freezer with leftovers and was being transfered to our RV. Dropped on concrete and it broke.
