Others say...
"Excellent for the price" The dishes were given to someone with chicken parm (in the smaller dish) and lasagna (in the larger one) and the person not only loved the food but loved the dishes too! And not only are they great for baking but they are made for freezing as well. I was quite pleased! "Versatile and Strong" I use these all the time in the kitchen, whether for prepping or cooking. It's one of those products I wish I had bought earlier. "Excellent!!" I love this set!! I used one too make baked chicken, and the small one to make cinammon rolls in and they both did an excellent job, both foods came out nice and even. I recommend these for anyone looking for a great price and excellent baking, nice job Pyrex!! "HAPPY AS A LARK !!" ordered this set about a month ago but to my dismay, came in a million pieces. thru no fault of amazon it seems that they were manhandled buy the postal carrier, but no worry, emailed amazon with the problem and they fixed everything by shipping another set out right to me. i just love amazon. its a great, great place to shop !!. "What a good deal on amazon!" Got these and they came in perfect shape. Put them in the dishwasher o the oven or the microwave and no problems whatsoever! I was using junk before this!

Why I buy this one ? - Great for lasagnas, casseroles, cakes, breads, and cobblers - Pyrex glass is safe in the oven, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, and dishwasher - Pyrex glass is non-porous, so it won't absorb food odors, food flavors or food stains - Clear glass allows you to watch your food as it cooks - Made in the U.S.A. What our customer's say! "Works good...not great", I know Pyrex has a lot of fans and I actually like them myself. Pyrex does have limitations and requires some work-arounds to be truly effective. First...even and proper browning of pastry crusts requires that the lower crust be precooked. It also requires that the pastry (pies, cobblers, etc.) be moved frequently during baking for even browning. This is simply a fact for this bakeware. I use both gas and electric ovens (both very modern) and must employ adaptive baking techniques when using Pyrex. Second...Pyrex retains heat at a higher temp, longer than metallic bakeware. Pyrex right out of the oven will stay near baking temp, even on a cooling rack for sometimes 10 minutes. I tried this with an empty dish and tested with a laser thermo gun. Temp out of the oven was 325 degrees and stayed up near 300 degrees for 11 minutes. You have to account and adjust for this. I first noticed this when serving a baked pasta dish. The dish continued to cook and actually bubble long after it was removed from the oven. My supple pasta was badly over-cooked later on. Also notice the obvious and very visible contraction of the bakeware at the edges when cooling. third....and most important, food sticks to Pyrex like glue to kiddie fingers. The longer food stays in the Pyrex the worse it is. I have tried every viable means to prevent sticking to no avail. I don't use non-stick sprays ( dangerous, flammable and affects flavors) but I have used butter and fat and nothing works. Only food that contain lots of fat fail to stick. I hate to sound like I'm offering warnings but I am giving what I think is sound advice. While nothing can replace a good set of metallic bakeware, I have to say that there are few things more impressive in the world of visual culinary delights than a properly prepared Cherry pie served in a Pyrex dish. You just gotta adjust cooking and prep methods and practice sound baking techniques. "Beware - explodes! Google "pyrex complaints" and research before buying.", My wife bought a 9 X 13 Pyrex glass pan several weeks ago to cook lasagna for our dinner party. Took it out of the oven and it exploded like a grenade! Glass shards flew across the kitchen into the dining room. Could easily have blinded her! Google "pyrex complaints" and you'll see there are hundreds of similar instances. We contacted the manufacturer and got offered a new free pan. Thanks anyway, we don't want to dodge glass shrapnel bombs..... "love 'em", i love these glass pyrex trays. makes cooking simple and presentable. can be stored pretty much everywhere! "Strong but hard to clean", I've owned these for over a year now. I kind of dread to bake with them since they are hard to clean afterward. Otherwise they are strong and sturdy and functional. "Pyrex dishes", I loved both Pyrex pans, the 2 quart size is a pefect size, and the 3 quart size is also a good size to bake desserts for family. Order arrived in good time, was well packaged, no breaks or scratches. Enjoy. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Baking Dishes", The small and larger dishes are great sizes for casseroles. You can't beat Pyrex "Quality Product at an Affordable Price", What can I say about Pyrex? There's a reason it's been around so long... it's great! I have no worries about the bakeware reacting with any food I cook in it. The ONLY drawback to Pyrex is it's heavy, but it's a drawback I am more than willing to overlook for all its good qualities. Pyrex is a PERFECT wedding gift or housewarming gift. Refrigerator, oven, freezer, microwave, (just don't put it under the broiler!) the stuff lasts forever and cleans up easily and is healthy to use. I cannot have enough Pyrex! "no size for smaller 2 qt dish", when selling two different dishes in a package, it would be nice to know the size of BOTH dishes... I'm trying to locate a 6x10 sized oblong dish - which seems to be an almost discontinued size by most manufacturers. If the dish was now sold as a part of a pair, the pair would be purchased to obtain the size I'm trying to find. But if only the standard larger size is known, I'll not gamble a purchase to find out the smaller size is not the right size. "You'll never buy another!!", Great set--practically indestructible! I've used them in the microwave, refrigerater, freezer, oven--even on top of the stove for gravy!! Dishwasher safe too, what more could you ask for? If you are using this set as a starter set, I would also invest in the Pyrex 9X9 square pan because it's a very popular size in recipes. "Great product for the price", I always loved pyrex and for the price you cannot beat this buy. You almost get two for the price of one. Love it. Glad I bought it. ![]() |
