"Perfect little espresso maker"
I have owned a previous version of this coffee maker and it has been a wonderful appliance to own. I love the ease of use and the quickness of the finished product.

"LOVE IT"
This product is great for my needs as well as the low price.
Here's a plus to making latte's from home
that you can't get from Starbucks:

put your flavoring in your milk before frothing and it's even more delicious!

"Works great, but falls apart quickly!"
First off, I LOVE this product, but will not purchase another! It was so easy to use! Within one month the plastic retainer on the filter broke and this past weekend (4 months old) the handle on the filter snapped right off. It was great, but I'm going to have to move on to a higher quality product.

"Yes, it is quite ugly but it works incredibly well"
I too bought the even cheaper version aka the walgreens brand, and I have to say I only bought it for $17 hoping it would break soon enough to get a prettier one. I now have had it over a year of daily and sometimes twice daily use without a single sign of aging/overuse/breaks. Its probably the fastest espresso maker I have owned, giving me coffee in less than one minute. Overall its great and even better for the price.

"most convenient espresso maker i've used.. "
I'm an avid latte drinker at 5-bucks, went every single day until one day i started to use a cc to earn points. seeing my monthly bill hit home. while out shopping i came across this little gem around 6 yrs ago. living in texas, it was pefect for iced lattes using their syrups and beans.

little mishap true in other reviews is the pot handle does break easy. but since i drink mostly iced, i turn it on before i get ready for work and make my latte as i'm walking out the door, so the pot is cold. i don't need the handle.

i recently moved to the east and gave my first away rather than packing it. thought i'd step up to a fancier espresso machine that had rave reviews here.. the problem is, it didn't allow me to turn it on and go about my business, i had to start it, wait for the green light, let it make one shot and start over. very time consuming since i use 3 to 4 shots. sold it on amazon after 2nd use and ordered my faithful mr coffee espresso maker.

the new design is easier to use, the top has grips on it makeing it easier to open and close. the other parts seem more sturdy too but the pot handle is still fragile. altho it wld be easy to put a shallow wide coffee cup in its place if the handle breaks.

if you like straight espresso, this isn't for you. if you make latte's, its perfect and takes minimal time.

What our customer's say!

"Easy to use & clean!", I love this espresso maker. It is very simple to use and put together. It even comes with tips and simple recipes for common drinks. it is very easy to modify recipes based on the ones given. In addition, it makes just enough for one or two people. Just perfect if you live alone or are the only one who likes espresso.

"Expresso Coffee maker", I liked the product. The coffee maker is easy to operate and fast brewing. The product is well worth buying for the price.

"Easy and Quick to Heat", Works well, looks good, and heats up fast. The steamer does a good job for lattes, etc. Good product with a fair price.

"Okay....but by no means what I was looking for", This item, I must admit, was very disappointing to me once I got it home. I had envisioned taking this tiny little espresso maker home with me and making delicious espresso drinks whenever I wished. HOWEVER....once I got it home and tested it out, my hopes went out the window. Don't get me wrong...the machine isn't a piece of crap. It makes decent coffee...if that's all you're looking for. It's a cute little machine that doesn't take up much space and is simple to clean. BUT, if you're used to working in a coffee shop and drinking delicious drinks made with perfectly brewed espresso shots, like me, this product just won't cut it.

"works great", i have made lbs. of coffee with this to make ice coffee great flavor; cannot get the flavor with reg coffee makers; tip--- i use (very vanilla} soy silk

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Waste of money", I purchased this for use in my home and immediately regretted it. The handle broke off of the carafe after its first use (not from misuse, it was flimsy to begin with). I continued using it (no handle, had to use an oven mitt to pick up the carafe after brewing). Within a couple of months, the little plastic piece used to hold the filter basket in place when emptying, etc. broke off. I continued using it. Now, about 3 weeks later, the steamer has stopped working, even with proper maintenance and cleaning.

I would not recommend this item, even to an enemy.

"Inexpensive but Strong", The cost for ANY espresso machine, outside the US, is out of the sky. This little beauty (@$30) is just too good to be true. Yes it won't last forever but I had my first one for two full years and used it just about every day at work. I'm now on my second machine and couldn't be happier. Great Espresso, great foam and my $400 machine can barely stay up!

"Contains lead", I looked at this maker in a store. The package had a warning sticker that stated that the product contains lead and that the user should wash their hands after using it. (The warnign was NOT your standard California prop 65 warning. It specifically mentioned lead and washing your hands.)

Not something for the kitchen...

"Ok, but broke in less then a few months.", I did buy mine refurbished, and once I got the hang of it, it worked OK. Reading other reviews, yes you do need to make sure the lid is on tight, and watch out taking it off. The steam is hot!! Really I think this item is a bit dangerous. You could burn yourself easily with it. Also the little carafe that came with it, the handle broke off not long after I got it and I only used it once a day and it was just me drinking the coffee. Just think it was either defective, or just cheap? I still used it, but had to be very careful. It quit perking coffee about 4 months after I got it. I think the frother part still works. I only paid $10 for it so I got what I paid for, but I will not buy another one.

"have owned it and used it daily for three years.... a lot", o.k. let's all get a grip concerning this product.
it cost me twenty-five dollars at walmart three years ago and i and a co-worker draw about twenty shots a day, every day at work (backstage at a theater) and it makes a perfectly fine, strong coffee... not bitter... but no crema... it's not espresso.
it's not supposed to be.
tastes fine black... i use milk and sugar sometimes... sometimes i froth the milk... sometimes i heat it in the microwave... sometimes i pour it over ice and add cold milk... it all tastes fine.
if i want a real double shot of espresso i go to the locally owned coffee house and splurge every week or two.
so i know what really good espresso tastes like... as many of you do.
if you want strong, cheap, good coffee... brew it with this thing using a good quality course grind or a good espresso grind (fair trade would be nice)... don't tamp it down (too tight for the pressure it delivers)... and it you want it to heat up water quickly turn it on before you filter your water and set the grounds into the coffee filter (a couple of taps on a table after you fill it will get the grounds to settle in).
oh yeh, and the carafe will break apart almost immediately, so i've used a big, low profile mug to catch the coffee for all three years... man, what a chore. ha.
as a perpetually starving actor of twenty five years this is a tasty way to get your caffeine cheaply without injecting it directly into your bloodstream.
and to all you espresso fanatics... welcome to the new economic depression...i hope you have already purchased your several thousand dollar machine, time to brew the best cup of coffee you can for the least amount of money at home or at the office for your economically deprived friends ... and let starbucks sink under it's own expensive weight.
if not, get this one and go socialize at a locally owned coffee house when you get an extra dollar or two.
whoohooooo! i'm buzzed already!
