"No problems with the little juicer that could"
I have been using this juicer now for about a month and a half with no problems. Now, I haven't been juicing vegetables, just wheatgrass and spinach. I use my omega for other veggies. That said, the healthy juicer is easy to use, easy to setup and clean and and leaves dry waste coming out, so it's juicing to the max. The DVD is nice in learning how to use it properly and the extra parts are a nice added value feature. For the price and the value, why not try it! I suppose an electric one would be nice, but for a few moments of cranking, I'd rather keep it simple. Buy this one!

"works good, but breaks easy"
been using this one for a couple years on wheatgrass only. Handle just cracked from cranking too hard. I'm going to look for metal version. Otherwise, works petty good and grass is not heated too much, thereby keeping the valuable enzimes in tact, unlike electric machines.

"Great Customer Service"
This juicer is good, i wouldn't go as far to say great. The pulp is soggy and the unit leaks a bit. The turning handle hits the C-Clamp as you are cranking and the juice spout is in an akward spot. On the other hand it is very affordable and does do it's job at juicing the wheatgrass. PLUS GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Mine came with a cracked juice cup and they just shipped me a new one, no questions asked!!

"Great Juicer"
Got this juicer yesterday. I've only used it once, but I tried apples, carrots, celery, spinach, and tomatoes. I didn't have any trouble turning the handle for any of these things (I did cut the carrots in half though). Everything else juiced easily. It didn't get all of the juice out of the tomatoes, but I just scooped up the pulp and ran it through again. I also had to crank the handle back and forth a few times to get the juice from the spinach (no biggie). In all it only took a couple minutes for a glass of juice. I didn't have any leaks.

I used the suction cup, which worked really well (I was surprised by this actually, wasn't expecting it to work). I do agree that the handle is a bit to close to the base. If I had to use the clamp there would be much extra room. I know a lot of people were complaining about the clamp being to big and having to open their dishwasher to have a place to clamp it. Unfortunately, I don't think there's really another option, so I don't consider that a valid complaint.

It was a snap to put together (took a couple minutes). Now I can take it apart, clean it, and reassemble it in about two minutes. It's really a simple machine.

In all, I really can imagine a better juicer. I was looking at those expensive $400 dollar electric juicers, but as I couldn't spend that much I opted for this one. I don't really know why you would need an electric now. This one is so light weight and portable. It makes no noise at all. I control the speed and direction of things. And I get a little exercise while juicing (is the point of juicing to get healthier? May as well get a little physical activity with it). So, while there may be a couple design issues that could be better, it's really the best juicer I could imagine (at least short of something with a hydraulic press and grinder that would probably cost a couple grand).

So buy this thing already.

"I love this little juicer"
I wanted a juicer that I could use occasionally to juice celery, carrots, and other fruits and vegetables.

I've owned the juicer for 2 weeks and couldn't be happier. It's a sturdy little thing and not really difficult to put together, use, or clean. In fact cleaning it is so much simpler than the big electric juicer I owned years ago.

It is a manual juicer, but I've never had any problem turning the crank - I load 1 stalk of celery or 1 carrot at a time and push it in as I'm turning the crank.

Highly recommended for occasional juicers like me.

What our customer's say!

"Awesome Juicer, but could be improved", I love this juicer.

I can't say enough about it.

Pros:

Easy to use
Quick to assemble and disassemble
Easy to clean
Efficient
Well made

Cons:

Too much plastic, the receiving vessel should be made of glass, in mine it seems that the combination of vegetable juices has actually corroded it, I don't want plastic in my juice. There should be more metal inside the unit. basically the unit should be made of heavy glass and metal, not plastic. Unfortunately due to the special shape of the receiving vessel there's little chance of substituting your own container for the provided one.

Some veggies are hard to juice without helper vegetables. For example celery tends to sit at the end of the auger and spin in place instead of being forced in to the juicer, so you must use something hard like a carrot to force it through. This is a problem because most hard veggies are packed with sugar, something I don't want to make up much of my juice. That is just one example, you will get used to it after a while but it's still a bit of a pain.

Overall this is one of the best juicers out there. Way more efficient than a centrifugal, wayyy cheaper than a comparably efficient powered auger type. With a few changes to design it would be the best manual juicer I've ever seen, actually it already is!

"Fantastic!", I am totally enamored by this juicer. For such a cheap price the product and function is amazing. There is something ineffable about this juicer which forces me to grow my own wheat grass and extract the juice. The juicer extracts every single drop of juice from the wheat grass.Anyone who wants to buy a wheat grass juicer I would suggest buying this instead of a fancy and an expensive one.Even though it is manual but all the work is worth it.

"Buy this now", This wheat juicer is awesome, why not get one today...price is fair and it even arrived on a Saturday for no extra charge.

"Healthy juicer", I prefer the manual powered juicer because I do a lot of camping. This one is tough and easy to clean and I did not need to rob a bank to afford it. Thanks it does a great job.

"Big Juice from Little Juicer", My kids and I love this juicer. It's very high quality, and super easy to clean. It's also kid friendly. They love turning the handle and watching the juice come out. The base holds strong, so much that we don't need the clamp. We juiced our garden lettuce and greens with ease.

"Excellent Product but overpriced.", The reason for the four star is the price. Its a little high. However, its an excellent product, easy to assemble and clean and performs just like the manufacturer says it would.

"A Piece of Junk", I purchased this device specifically to juice wheatgrass. First of all, the suction cup at the bottom is worthless and the clamp is clumsily engineered and can only be used on a counter with a BIG lip on it, which in my kitchen, is in front of the dishwasher with the dishwasher's door open, which looks rediculous. Then, in order to get any yield whatsoever, one must crank then reverse then crank again to have anything come out of the tiny hole near the crank (another design flaw.) On top of this, it takes almost a whole 18x24" tray of wheatgrass just to make two one ounce shots, and that is with the compression cap screwed on the end. Something is wrong here...they only use half that amount at Wild Oats with their Champion juicers. Juice leaks out the handle, out the front and everywhere else except where it's supposed to go...in the cup. After doing this a few times and making a HUGE mess of grass clippings, green (staining) juice all over my countertop and me and a tedious 20 minutes to set it up, juice the grass and clean up, it's better I just stay with going to the local juice bar and spending the three bucks. I know I should not be angry because "you get what you pay for" but geez, this device was endorsed by the Hippocrates Health Institute and I trusted that endorsement!

"Excellent value for the money", I use this juicer for juicing leafy greens and wheatgrass, and it performs outstandingly well. Assembly, cleaning, etc., are straightforward and quick. The product is very effectively designed and produces high quality green juices that are not exposed to heat and oxidation that can occur with high-speed, electric masticating juicers. I have a (pricy) Champion juicer that I use for juicing carrots, beets, etc., but for greens and grasses, this inexpensive little machine is definitely the way to go.

"Lots of problems", Please don't buy this if you think you are going to be juicing carrots and apples and other hard vegetables. Because it is manual, it would take anyone forever to get a 12 oz. glass of carrot juice. I can get a glass of carrot juice in less than 1 minute with my centrifugal juicer which is a Juiceman pro. But, a centrifugal juicer can't do what this little juicer can do, juice grass and leafy greens.

I have mixed feelings about this little juicer. First the pros. This juicer does a fine job of juicing wheatgrass. The pulp is dry and it is not hard to crank. Cleanup is fairly easy. It is portable. It is cheap. You get a slick dvd and extra parts. In an emergency this juicer would be an ideal survivor tool.

Now the cons. The so called indestructible plastic auger cracked after the first two weeks of juicing wheatgrass. I have to send it back for a replacement. Sometimes the crank hits the clamp or the edge of the counter. That means I have to readjust the clamp to make sure it is on correctly. Not a big problem but something you have to be careful about. If the lip on your kitchen counter does not protrude out far enough, the clamp might not attach properly. We actually have to open the dishwasher in order to have enough clearance for the clamp to attach under the kitchen counter. I ended up juicing in my backyard attaching the unit to the side table of my grill because of the clamp, the clearances and the drippy mess.

Next, the designers decided it would be best to reverse the threads of the end cap. That means in order to tighten it, you turn it counter clockwise. This is the opposite of every standard thread on the planet. It's confusing. In order to take off the end cap after juicing, you have to use the wrench supplied and use a moderate amount of force. I don't like it.

Also, the hopper body is hard to slide off the locking base. Sometimes I really have to push it. Next, the juice cup is very close to the handle crank. You have to be careful not to knock over the juice cup as you are cranking. Not a huge deal but again, something you have to put up with. Lastly, when you slide off the hopper, there are some drips. Because you must attach the locking base close to the edge of a counter, that means some drips on the kitchen floor. It can get messy.

I bought an Omega 8005 electric juicer three weeks after buying this healthy juicer. The omega is terrific and has none of the problems I have with the healthy juicer.

//(One year later.......)//

After growing and juicing wheatgrass for over a year now, I can't imagine using a manual juicer. If you know you are going to be juicing grass as a way of life, I would save my money and buy an electric juicer such as the Omega.

"it's just a great little juicer", I just bought one of these and have to say that my expectations were pretty low. This is the second manual juicer I have bought and the first one was useless.

A few things I really like about this juicer:
1. It's manual, which alot of people seem to be saying is a "con" of the juicer, but I think it's awsome. You use no electricity, you can take it anywhere, and you even get a little arm excersize while using it. SO to those whimps who are complaining about the hand crank I say to you go out and spend your $250 on an electric one and quit bashing this great little unit! I mean seriously, it's not like the company advertized that the juicer would crank ITSELF.
2. The juicer came with several extra parts. I was pleased to see that the juicer came with extra of the items most likely to wear out or break, such as bushings etc. I am an auto mechanic, so I don't guess I am really qualified to say that it was "easy" to put together, but I had not trouble at all. There are instructions, as well as a dvd that DEMONSTRATES exactly how to put the thing together (not that I needed to use either of those). Pause it...slow motion...whatever you have to do to get this thing put together because I assure you it will be worth it.
3. Juice yield. I have to say that I just recently bought a hydraulic press juicer, which is supposed to have the highest yield of any juicer type, and when compared to this little unit I can guarantee I will be using my "healthyjuicer" more than I will that juice press. The amount of juice that this little thing extracts is amazing to me...my mom has one of the green power TWIN GEAR juicers, which are supposed to be the best all around electric juicer you can buy and I think that this little manual one has dryer pulp than what comes out of her $350+ juicer! I was also afraid that it would ONLY be good for wheatgrass and lettuce and stuff, but the first thing I did when I got it was run some carrots through there and it did great! Most other juicers are either good at leafy vegetables and not so good at harder vegetables or vice versa...this one seems to excel at both!

I just can't say enough about this little juicer...the price, the weight, the ease of use and ease of cleaning are enough to offset ANY drawback that anyone has listed in these reviews. My motive for writing this review: I want LOTS of people to go out and buy these things so that the company continues to make them so that down the road when mine finally DOES wear out I will be able to get another one.
