"O K " Cleans O K. Only problem is that the unit tends to leak a bit. The tanks are awkward to get off on on withour water getting on the floor. For the price, I would probably buy again. "COULDN'T BE MORE SATISFIED" It has been a little over a year since I bought mine thru Amazon and I have been so pleased with this machine. If it broke today I would still say the money was well spent! It is well designed, easy to use, requires no special cleaning products (I have used the recommended Hoover detergent, a Walmart knock off, and even plain water), very durable, and it really does clean well! I bought it because I got 2 puppies last year and I've had to use my carpet cleaner AT LEAST once a week - I have a 4000 sq ft home - so this machine has gotten a lot of use and still everything works perfectly. I would buy it again and whole-heartedly recommend this product to any homeowner. "WOW!" After reading all the reviews on Amazon we decided to purchase this steam cleaner for our home. I just used it for the first time and I can't believe how easy it is to use and how well it works! I have heard the the hotter the water is you use the better results you'll get so we filled a huge stock pot with the hottest water from our tap and kept it on our stove on med-low. I had to refill the tank about 6 times to do a 10X16 room that had never been steam cleaned before. One quirk that I discovered is that the recovery tank often fills up and requires changing before you run out of clean water/solution. But this is not a big deal considering the results you get with this machine. I couldn't believe how clean our rug came out! After the rug dried (which took about 24 hours) I vacuumed with our regular bagless vacuum. Normally the cannister is filled with dirt and dust. After steam cleaning the cannister was COMPLETELY EMPTY! Incredible. Now, I had never steam cleaned anything before so next time I would make more "dry passes" to pick up excess water and speed the drying time. Also, because I have never done this before I can't compare this cleaner to any others but I would say with full confidence that I highly recommend this product. I really could not believe how clean our carpet came out and how easy the Agility is to use. "good cleaning vacum" Possibly best carpet cleaning Vac, only professional cleaning better. You save money in long run. I do use it every few months on my carpets, great result. Heavy machine. "Hoover "cleans up" the competition with this one!" Hoover has hit the mark with their SteamVac Agility. This model is fairly light, and easy to maneuver making this particular chore less of a workout. The design is simple yet very effective, I really like the separate resevoirs for cleaning solution on one side, and dirty solution on the other. The cleaner is an addition to one already in use - in a hotel, which is constantly being cleaned so this one will get alot more use than in the average users home. This of course will be a test of the longevity of the unit, however it is substantial enough that I think with proper usage it will last. Now for the bad, which is not much and very minor at that. More or less just a little F.Y.I. The instructions are a little cryptic regarding the removal of the hose caddy and the filter on the bottom of the unit. The hose caddy just pulls straight up, toward the top of the handle. The diagrams make it look like it pivots to the left or right to unlock it. I have to kind of hit the bottom of the hose caddy with the heel of my palm to unlock it - the retaining clip is pretty beefy. I also mentioned the removal of the filter near the brush assembly on the bottom of the unit. This is absolutely a horrible design flaw. You have to squeeze the filter together with your thumb and forefinger and pull it out. The problem is that the opening around the filter is not larger enough to get a good grip on the filter. I had to use a pair of needlenose pliers. Also keep in mind this filter DOES NOT COME COMPLETELY OUT, so don't force it. It pulls out just far enough to clean it. So that is about it, all in all a great product so far, and with proper care I think it will remain so for some time.

"Don't Buy", I've had this product for 2 years and the motor burned up. Also the hose the bends with the hand has ripped opened. "Hoover SteamVac", This is a must item for a household with kids and heavily travelled carpets. I have been using it for more than a year and I get great results every time. The only addition I make to it is by adding really hot water to the tank and start the cleaning. It makes the dirt disappear and makes your carpet look really fluffy. The upholstery cleaner also helps with cleaning the car and couches. The unit is a bit heavy, but so are all other vacuums so thats never an issue for me. For what it costs to rent a machine from a store($25-30 for few hours), this machine can make the purchase worthwhile in just few cleanings. "Please don't buy ", I,too, bought this after very extensive research and reading of all the reviews. People were so pleased and I was swayed by their raves. My experience was quite different,although, quite similar to the negative reviews. Bottom line: it didn't suction up the water. I reread the instructions, cleaned the machine thoroughly and went over and over the wet areas with no luck. Very little water returned. I ended up using towels and walking back and forth on them to try to get the moisture out. Took a horrendous amount of time. Very frustrating experience. I also waited too long before I first used the machine so that by the time I had this experience it was well past the 30 day return. "My spin brushes stopped working on the two I bought", I bought my Hoover Agility from a television shopping show. I loved it when I first bought it. I have beige rugs. I have young children and a cat so need to carpet clean. Before my first 30 days was up my brushes stopped spinning on the main unit and it smelled like the belt had burned out and it stopped working all together. I'm not sure if there is a belt inside but I remember when I was young my parents had an old vacuum with a belt that would burn out and that's what it reminded up. I called the shopping show customer service and the lady was nice and sent me another one. I sent the broke one back to them. But guess what?! The second one spin brushes stopped working after the 30 days I had that one. It didn't smell like the first one, like a belt had worn out. The brushes just stopped. I can still use the carpet cleaning mode but with the heavy traffic on my carpets from the kids, I need the spin brushes. I called a place to get it fixed and the representative said it's $50 just to look at it and they'd tell me how much it would cost to fix it before they did anything. I chose not to fix it because I didn't want it to break again. Either it was my luck that I got two of the same product that broke or the product isn't of good lasting quality. I want to hear from folks who have had it for 2 years and use it on a monthly or every other month basis! "Works Great until it breaks", I purchased this unit about a year ago, and have been happy with its performance. It is light and manageable but still does a great job on my carpets. However, as mentioned in numerous reviews, I was concerned about the flimsy plastic design. Not surprisingly, a hose broke 4 months ago and it had to go in for repair. Four months later it is still in the repair shop. Why? - because Hoover (or the company that bought the Hoover name - PTI) can't seem to be bothered to send the repair shop the replacement parts or if they do they are the wrong ones. I suspected I might be in for trouble when I had to go to three different shops to find one that would repair Hoovers. The two previous stated the same thing: It was too hard to get parts from Hoover and they didn't want the hassle from their clients when they had to wait. Buyer Beware - the units work well but be prepared for a ridiculously long wait if it does need to be serviced. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Good Buy", This carpet cleaner works pretty well. We got a new puppy and are still in the process of potty training, so this come in handy. It is great to get the dirt up and cleans easily. Water compartments are a little small and you have to change the water frequently. Works well with boiled water. I really enjoy it and it is easy to store. Overall I am happy with this purchase. "Great Cleaner", I have used this cleaner several times. At first I thought the resevior tank was too small and that I would be emptying it several times, but that isn't the case. It gets a lot of dirt up and it is easy to use and clean. No problems yet. "Good Product", This carpet cleaner is a good unit. Cleans well and has sufficient suction to do a good job pulling the water out of the carpet. I recommend it. "Works for me!!", This has been and excellent cleaner for me. I have been trying to convince my husband that his old cleaner was junk. Finally I just ordered this and showed him the difference!! He was glad I got it. Does a really great job for me! "Owesome Carpet Cleaner!!!", I bought this carpet cleaner back in April from Amazon with an extra $20 off on a Friday sale for $159. I've used it 3 times from when I got it to once in July & Oct. Setting up from filling the solution tank to operation was simple. Hoover should make the power cord longer. The dirt & cat hair that came out of my carpets was unbelieveable. The extra power shot of solution helps on stains. Your foot does slip sometimes when lowering the handle when stepping on the pedal. The carpets that I first shampooed where almost dryed when I was done though I do have 9 rooms. Clean up was pretty easy from tanks to the brushes. |
