"Best Garlic Press ever!", This press is amazing...lots of leverage, looks great, heavy durable construction, and it cleans so simple it is effortless. I have used many presses in the past but none work so well as this one. Not sure about the other reviewers....never thought you were supposed to try to press garlic before peeling. I have never put mine in the dishwasher as it cleans so easily it isn't necessary. BUY IT!

"Very attractive...yet less functional than I'd hoped", I generally like all the Anolon accessories - they look nice, and I like the grey rubberized handles - they are my kitchen tools of choice. I bought the garlic press around 6 months ago, and it worked well for a while. I didn't have the same problem that the other reviewer did, but it just seems like the "press" (I don't know what else to call it) has stopped fitting into the other compartment. It's sort of strange, since it's metal and it's not as if it could expand in size (right?), but it just doesn't fit anymore. I do put it in the dishwasher - maybe that's problem. All I know is that I now have a very attractive garlic press that doesn't work.

"Not Good for Unpeeled Garlic. Great Until It Broke. ", I had this for about 2 years and thought it was a 5 star. The grips and handles are extremely comfortable with great leverage. I always peeled the cloves before using which is why I think it lasted as long as it did. When I attempted to use unpeeled garlic (it's supposed to be good for that) it broke. The perforated metal the garlic squishes through cracked almost completely around and bent out. I intend to contact Anolon for a replacement. If you don't mind using peeled garlic with this device it works really well. It's not strong enough for unpeeled garlic.
