"Toaster Review", This is a great toaster. Great with bagels. Lever won't stay down if toaster isn't plugged in which is a good thing if it has to stay out on the counter with kids around.

"Disappointed", Not much to like about this toaster. It arrived dented. Slots are not long enough to fit a slice of bread unless it is the old fashioned size. Toasts unevenly, comes out with brown stripes. Big and bulky. If all you toast are bagels and english muffins, it is adequate. Definitely not worth the money. Wish I had purchased the Breville.

"Toast the way it should be!", This is a very fine toaster. It accomodates different kinds of bread and bagels and english muffins. The warmer surface on top is a great bonus. Easy to clean and use. Excellent product.

"Epic toaster", A fine toaster; a wondrous toaster. Cecil B. DeMillie should make a movie about it. This toaster will change your life.

** My old toaster you had to turn the control way up to get brown, this one you turn it a little past the halfway mark.

** Longer bread like Healthy choice, sticks up a little bit, ibut it still gets toasted.

**Love the lifter for english muffins, no more unplugging and doing whatever means to get the toast out!

**Love the top part for heating up buns, etc.

Only complaint ~ Which is for all 4-slice toasters is they are much bigger than they used to be, but this toaster is impressive looking!!

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Great Features", Individual controls are great. Easy to keep clean. The design is retro yet contempory. All these nice features and it makes great toast, English muffins and bagels, too! Had previous experience with Krups, so I expected nothing less and definitely got it.

"Works Well, but Openings Too Short", Bottom Line: If you like Oroweat breads or breads that are just a tad bit longer than the store brand's, stay away from this toaster. Otherwise, it works great. Read on for details...

After our last toaster died, I wanted a 4-slice toaster because we have 3 kids and a 2-slice toaster just doesn't cut it. I looked at many toasters and narrowed my selection down to the Krups FEM4B and the Kitchen Aid KMTT400 series. They both had pretty good reviews and I decided to get the Krups because it was less expensive. I initially had an issue with one of the toaster's bagel buttons which would stay on for the right set of controls and it would not turn off. So we couldn't use the right side for a while. Eventually it worked itself out and now works just fine and the bagel button works like it should, not sure what happened and was close to returning it.

Besides that little hick-up, the toaster works great and we've had it for almost a year (purchased end of July '07). It toasts evenly and is easy to operate. The *problem* I have with the toaster is that the openings for the toast just aren't long enough. You don't see specifications on the openening lengths. Toaster companies will talk about how wide they are if they can hold bagels just fine (like this one) but no mention of length. The openings are exactly 5 inches long. If you like deli sized breads or breads like Oroweat, they have a hard time fitting in the toaster and you have to shove them down. It's very annoying. If you stick to the store brand sized breads, then you won't have a problem. Next time I buy a toaster I'm going to go to a store, and measure the openings before purchasing. I wouldn't buy this toaster again because of that issue. If Krups comes out with another 4-slice toaster that has longer openings, then that would be a clear winner. As it is, if you like Oroweat breads or breads that are just a tad bit longer than the store brand's, stay away from this toaster.

"Good-looking and reliable", Beautiful toaster! We got it a few weeks ago. Besides the fact that it is GIANT, it toasts evenly, nicely, and it has an extra function to toast croissants and other pastries by just putting them on top.

I am very happy with it. My husband thinks it takes too long to toast.

"Krups toaster", Does NOT toast evenly and tends to burn in spots.
Dissapointing for this Brand.

This is an amazing and easy to use toaster. I would recommend it in a heartbeat. So far no problems although I have only had it for about a month now. I purchased a Krups toaster oven before this and found it did not toast near as good this toaster.So if you are just needing a toaster and not an oven this is the best bet.
